agreed ^ it's Tommy Vercetti (again, I'm willing to put money on it)as Kala pointed out, not only are there airplanes (crop duster/g5/ect), but there are military jets as well.. kind of hard to maneuver a military jet within the confines of one city dontcha think? if they toss out a San Andreas without Los Venturas (Vegas) or San Fierro (Frisco), a LOT of fans will be disappointed.. it'll be epic regardless, but all the plates say 'San Andreas', which should equal the entire playground, not just Los Santos |

@Kotton, i fully agree and why would they release it in Q3 when on the trailer the whole los santos is already done, lots of people on the streets, big mountaints, they need time to model the other cities, and damn i can't wait to get k1real24's hummer for it and drive around the desert and mountains xD, btw the wind things look sick xD, and damn it's good to see hydra back in gta, hope we see a big ass airport with the at-400, hoping to see mrwhoope and rhino, it will be awesome to see the dozer and dumper in a quarry, thats what i miss in gta, and would be cool too if we see more things from SA there (like the jefferson hotel), would be cool to hit a deer on the road to las venturas xD

there's many hint leading to tommy being the main character, for real, but my opinion is, it won't be him, because i'm a fucking retard, lol. wait and see, I suppose. |

Bigger than Red Dead? That world was fuckin' massive for not really having any vehicles. Can't wait to see what kind of animals they put ingame, maybe even a city zoo? Would add to the realism to see a stray dog, or cat running around from time to time. ![]() I spy a trailer XD Edited by Twiztid Axe, Nov 3 2011, 06:46:54 PM.

I havent played RDR, but my friends told me that it was huge. and I heard rumors that R wont carry characters from the 3 era.(IV didnt have any so why start in V?) The first trailer didnt tell us about the game that much so here are my theories 1) V might have LS or SF 2) GTA V Era? GTA V: SF or LV(in full details like what they might be doing in LS) 3)V will not have SF or LV at all but new cities or towns arround the LS 4) R* dosent want to try to push RAGE to its limits ATM since IV for PC was bad(putting the whole SA State might make the game un optimize[we all know how crappy the porting job they made]) |

@Kot: impossible to have one city, at least two i may think, it would be such a let down for a jet fly across LS in a mintue.....
The game'll be probably banned or denounced by a group of animal activists, you know, killing animals is even worse than hot coffee in their eyes......
agree Episodes and DLCs of V'll follow after announcement of V,at the time, we could see Los Santos, but who know SF or LV'll be back as a map add-on, you know, Rockstar makes money, not a charity! |

I think LV might be in it but not SF..on the trailer he have one scene to use as a evidence that there might be an LV, but no evidence that there could be SF.. this could be the use for the jets and the hydra. since in the original SA Area 51(what ever its called) is located near LV. |

Doubt that would ever happen, you have any idea on how many animals I killed in RDR? Wolves can be pets, same for bears (don't go out buying one just cause they can be "pets") but I killed hundreds of em, and never heard any shit about animal activist bitching about the game. That, and they could be /fictional/ breeds so if they did start bitching about killing animals, you could bring up the fact that their not even real life breeds. That, or you could just make them all pitbulls and rotts, cause those dogs are on the "bad dog list" so they might not care ![]()
They had the gta3 dude in SA, I can't remember what mission it is, but it looks JUST like him, and he doesn't speak a word. So since their bringing SA back, I'm sure there will be some one from one of the GTA games showing up. That's only because they got lazy on the port, there's TUNS of shit left from SA that's not used, not to mention all the shit from the 360 AND the ps3 left behind. And just because it doesn't seem like its not used, doesn't mean the shit doesn't clog your game up. That, and RDR was huge, so if it's the same size, or bigger I would be happy with it. Though, it would be nice to have a game world the size of JC2= 385 Square Miles (Game install size is just over 4 gigs). GTA IV= Roughly 30 square miles (15 gigs or so). WITH the water in mind, about 6 square miles if you don't include the water surrounding it lol. SA was 12 sqmiles, and RDR map was about 28 sqmiles. So... with all that shit in mind, I'd make a guess that GTA V is going to be somewhere around 50 or so sqmiles (just a guess, but I would be happy if R* proved me wrong and shot way above that scale) |

My opinion, which would fit why and how Tommy narrates everything in the video: he is not the main actor. If rumors are true, and a hispanic named Adrian will be the man char, this time it might not be only one. Rumors say he might die, or being switched into another part of the main story, and another actor. Tommy, in my mind, is a guiding character, giving you missions, telling you "the story", keeping you in line. About the cities.. it is possible we get LS only. Number plates will show the state name IRL, don't they? No matter if there is one, two or 40 cities. I could imagine this will be one city, the huge Mount Chilliard area, the huge desert, one or two suburbans or dusty villages. According to R* announcement, this will be the largest (in matter of size) map they ever made. So, IV's LC is as big as GTA SA map. Now if they have LS as big as LC, and add the hills, mountain, desert, they are bigger than everything else before. Which would support planes and even jets. As it was in GTA SA. Let the new map be 2 or 3 times larger, and you surely have fun with a fast jet. But here comes the big BUT: why would they make a huge city and landscape, if that was surrounded by sea? Why would they make interstate and highway exits leading to other cities if all of them are dead ends? |

Same reason they made the highways in IV that basically went nowhere, and the same reason they made IV be surrounded by nothing but water. I personally prefer a game world surrounded by water, mainly because when I hit the edge of the map, I don't have a huge urge to try and get to the top/bottom of the huge cliff wall that's the edge of the map. Take RDR for example, it just has massive cliffs that you can't go down/up (but we all tried, at least once) but if you toss in jets and airplanes it's a whole n'other story.

You miss one thing: Liberty City road signs were not leading out of the town, but always to a part of the town. The trailer of V shows signs which would lead out of town. |

Yup, that and the fact that they are shown in the trailer (with the only purpose of inciting us) means that we'll probably be able to travel from one city to another. There were no actual highways in IV, just big roads that got you fast from one area of an island to another, not uncommon in big cities. But I agree, water is better than "walls". It somewhat made sense in IV because it was NY and it will make sense in Five too, because LA is right next to the ocean. Maybe they could make an endless desert on one side, like in Far Cry 2. I just hope that those mountains are accessible and not just for show... IDK who said IV for PC was bad, but I disagree. Sure it had tons of compatibility problems at first, but the reason for its low performance is that it's fucking HUGE. And not just from an area size point of view, but it has immense detail too with buildings and other stuff. Take TDU2 for example, it's at least 10, maybe 20 times larger than IV, but it doesn't matter because it's empty. Then there's Deus Ex HR with much better graphics but the size of a playable area (without loading screens) is... fuck, 100 times smaller than IV?!? IMO IV was fairly balanced, and V is probably gonna take it up a notch, which means there's gonna be a lot of whining from people who can't play it at max settings on anything but high-end PC. That's like arguing that a Ferrari is bad because it eats up too much gas... |

This is why I say IV was/is a shit port GTA 4 Recommended System Requirements Processor: Intel Core 2 Quad 2.4GHz or equivalent AMD Phenom X3 2.1GHz Memory/RAM: 2.5 GB for XP or Vista Video Card: 512MB NVIDIA 8600 or 512MB ATI 3870 Hard Disk Space: 18GB free Operating System: Windows XP SP3 or Windows Vista SP1 Just before I upgraded, I tried running IV on a system with specs better than these it ran like complete ass After the upgrade, it still doesn't run perfectly, and my system is WAY beyond the recommended system requirements. That, and every one I've met who plays IV on the PC bitches about it running like a pile. |

yet EFLC runs fine (or at least much better than IV on my end).. so it's a given that certain optimizations and code rewrites have already taken place ..which means further rewrites and optimizations will be in line for the release - that would be pretty chickenshit, to release a game that runs no better than it's counterpart from 4 years earlier |

@Twiztid That's NOT what I said. I'm talking about pure performance, not the compatibility issues it has because it's not a perfect console port. ![]() Sure it runs like crap on some rigs because of those issues, but on the other hand it runs fine for others. For example I didn't have any problems with it on my previous build which had a C2D CPU (lower than sys req). Is that to say it's a good port? Of course not, we can't generalize on these things. One of the reasons why IV came under so much fire from PC gamers is that these kids fail to understand a massive game like this won't work on their rundown Celeron/Sempron rigs with integrated video adapters that they bought from the supermarket 5 years ago And they start talking about it like it's the game's fault creating a general, but false, idea about the game.Plus, and please correct me if I'm wrong, I remember that most bugs and crashes came from bad cracks that were initially released. Moving on, IMO there's every reason to believe that Five will be a much better port, because this time R* won't start from scratch with the Rage engine. a.k.a. what Kot said

Hmmm, after watching the trailer a few times now I’m starting to think that character might not be Tommy Vercetti but maybe Toni Cipriani from GTA III & LCS. I’ve got III installed on my comp & started going through some of the audio files and Toni’s voice sounds very similar to the guy in the trailer. It was Michael Madsen who done the voice in III & the more I watch that trailer the more convinced I am that that’s his voice.

Being a big Michael Madsen fan I can say that it's definitely NOT his voice in the trailer ![]() To me it sounds like the guy from the trailer has a slight hispanic accent. |
