Maybe it's because of certain locations, weathers or times of the game? |

There's something called "poly budget". If the map is that big as they say, its normal they need to save polys anywhere to put em anywhere else. In games as Fm, they have really high poly meshes but they only use em on the viewports, when playing, the mesh you saw is way less dense. On Iv and V, there are details everywhere, and you can go anywhere too, and those places needs a mesh. So what do you expect? A big map full of details with high poly meshes? Thats called a rendre and most of the times it takes hours for a single frame. A game framerate must be higher than 25 fps, again, a reason to save polys... The fact of putting FM4 L0 meshes on IV is just as stupid as it can be, cause the game is not meant to run, spawn, deform and control such kind of meshes. Thats why you have bugs like the taxi bug, rc20, the map that disapperas (in fact its only because the engine cannot load it cause, guess what, the memory is full by loading your car lol). The fact that the car is on the air is because its not finished yet, or because a lod changing, or a col bug too... It looks pretty nice imo, and i prefer having a big map full of details rather than highpoly cars (*cough* Fm meshes *cough*) |

Previews: English IGN (to be published later today) The Guardian Foreign Language: InsideGamer.nl (English translation) Gamer.nl Preview Gamer.nl Interview MeriStation Preview Gamesaktuell.de Jeuxactu.com Information: - Underwater world (with underwater caves) and diving equipment confirmed. - Side-missions similar to Taxi, Ambulance and Vigilante will be back but "probably not identical to the ones in previous GTAs" because they wouldn't fit in with the 3 main character personalities, but the "three will have odd jobs to do". - Trevor will be the skilled helicopter pilot, Franklin the skilled driver and sniper, Michael the "smooth operator", skilled and versatile. - Franklin is looking for a mentor and he finds one in Mike after they meet during one of Franklin's repo man jobs. - Trevor is inspired by the typical GTA player that only roams around the game creating havoc, death and destruction. - Mission types will vary among "big and small events , explosive, infiltration, super spectacular, family, invasion, hostage recovery, heists and robberies. Plus classic GTA missions but updated and improved." - Cover mechanics have been greatly improved and cover will be very important in the gameplay. - About the economy, Dan Houser says: "You will be able to spend money to buy interesting and fun things like expensive toys. We are still working on the economy but it will be a strong element in the game and players will be eager to make money to spend money. Something along the lines of "I went through all of this to make all this money and now I'm going to spend it on this crazy item." - Dynamic music during missions (similar to games like L.A. Noire) - No co-op for single player missions, but co-op modes will be featured in multiplayer. Big focuss on multiplayer with a lot of content to keep players busy. The song Radar Love was heard playing on the in-game radio. Source: GTAV Screenshots Here: http://www.gtav.net/screenshots/ Edited by XModder_10, Nov 12 2012, 06:00:25 AM.

Sorry to contradict you Slyde, but poly density doesn't affect FPS nearly as much as post-processing effects. HQ renders take longer not because of poly-count, but because of the rendering method ![]() The reason why most games use low-poly models is console memory size; that's 256MB sys memory and 250MB GPU memory for the PS3, and 512 shared memory for X360. Pathetic! I know phones with more than that ![]() It's not that the game can't process so many polies, it's just that they don't fit in that puny memory. Take a look at Crysis2 or Max Payne 3. They all run well above 25FPS on a modern PC. My GTA IV works great with over 60 Forza LOD0 mods. Period. Taxi bug? - Poor console port; the vehicle memory buffer is set way too low for modern PCs. Yeah, the game wasn't meant to use such high-poly models, but that doesn't mean it couldn't do it. RC20? - I'm sorry but that's either a bad mod or ZM error (you can't expect to get flawless results with an unofficial export tool) Map disappearing? - this is actually a texture issue. It's not generally known, but there's actually a limit to the number of textures that can be loaded simultaneously. It has nothing to do with memory size or GPU power, it is simply a limit hard-wired in the GPU architecture. GTX580 and HD7870 for example are limited to 128 simultaneous textures. That's fine for most games, even for vanilla IV, because native GTA vehicles have 2 or 3 unique textures and a few shared textures. But mods are not like that are they... Most of them have over a dozen unique textures. Suddenly your texture count goes over the limit and that's when you have "map disappearing" issues. Also, a low-end GPU could have an even smaller limit, so the problem will present itself more often. Bottom line I think it's quite possible to have a GTA game with Forza meshes on a modern PC. The only thing that's setting us back are these fucking consoles! |

Nori: yeah, it's obviously based on the R8 but the logo is just a half Audi logo (lazy R*, they couldn't think of a new logo for their GTA cars )tho i find it ugly, it's probably a good car to pursuits

![]() After Game Informer's preview last week, outlets around the world had their chance to check out Grand Theft Auto V. IGN's week of exclusive content kicked off yesterday with their impressions of the game so far: “One thing’s for sure, the most exciting aspect of GTA V is not just the way it promises to shake up the open-world genre, but also the freedom and flexibility it promises… Grand Theft Auto V could be the benchmark by which all other games – not just open-world games – will be judged against.” IGN's preview can be found here. Their editors also sat down for a roundtable discussion about the game, and they've got a full week of additional coverage planned - including a live extended Rewind Theater for Trailer #2. To see the full week of content as it unfolds, just click here. UK's Guardian newspaper also got an in-depth preview of the game as well: "This is Grand Theft Auto V, the latest title in a series that has dragged video games kicking and screaming onto the cultural agenda. GTA has always been about possibilities. That is why it is so exciting to see the series return, amid the indie titles it has inspired, and the Triple A titles that have grown up in its shadow. Grand Theft Auto has always sought to push at what game worlds are, it is inarguably ambitious." Read more at www.guardian.co.uk/technology/gamesblog/2012/nov/12/grand-theft-auto-v-preview-gta-5 and check out links to previews from a bunch of international sites below, as well as a roundtable discussion the guys at Game Informer conducted.
