I gave my vote for alex. I think he did best job here. That means (for me) best compromise between quality, car choice and files size. Although there is one thing I don't like - I see players feet between wheel and side of fender (already said that to alex). But overall it wins for me. Second place is taking Slyde. He did lots of goods there but thing I don't like is file size, 12 mb for a car mod it's just too big for my game. There was some issue as I remember (mirrored logos I guess but not sure). Third place, in my opinion, belongs to 875. That 250 is quite good but as Kot said, could be much better. Optimization is important here as well, plus camera is too low for me. Fourth? G with that tuned Gallardo. I don't like the tune way plus lots of issues with materials. Last place goes to Wired and R'x. Simply cannot say anything about that porsche, weird attitude Rapid. Worst car in this contest is jag. I completly don't get Wired's behavior. Tried to gave him some advices in his mods, but seems he completly don't want to listen what ppl are saying and don't care about quality and details. This mod here, is completly waste of time, some kind of early beta? - sorry. Opinion has been written as a normal user, not a judge. |

that's how u guys used to say about me XD on topic: well, i had 2 cars i couldn't choose between, so.... EDIT: here's my replies to some of the stuff u wrote about the TR. "which is exactly how I feel when you open the doors and take a look at the 'door sills'" i had to model some sills due to the interior didn't fit at all with the exterior (as u can see by urself) "but low poly wheels" the tires r made by me, and they're a little higher quality than the T10 tires. the rims r taken from the L0 model which means, it's the highest quality rims (ecxept for the Autovista ones, but i didn't want to use them) "and then we have the discolored wheels" talking about tire or rim? if tire: it's black? what is it supposed to be? if rim: it's the exact color as it should since i used the T10 wheel texture on it... "even the interior should be sprinkled with dirt as it's a full time open cockpit" i didn't think about that since i only thought about it as INTERIOR, forgot that it also had visible metal (not a complain or anything, just telling i didn't think about it) ohh, and btw, u forgot to give me points for exterior modeling, since i modeled those front vents ALL BY MYSELF Edited by Monster875, Aug 21 2012, 08:40:00 AM.

I didn't enter this contest to win,I've just had the Jag sitting around for some time, and decided to finally convert it,also I have my own quality standard, I don't care much about all the whining,if you don't like it,don't use it,the materials settings ,except the chrome, are my choice,as are the lights system, calipers and dirt mapping. Also I never mapped door sillz, not even for my SA mods. The colision bug is a first for me,will release a second version to fix that,I've just recently seen it after reinstalling my IV,also will fix the rotor, that's my error.Other than that,as I've stated for many times I use mods to have fun,I don't take time to contemplate the door shuts, engine, dirt or how the rims shine,if you guys want that go build a real car. @Kot I understand how you feel,so from now on I won't use the shops name. for me, it's never been about showing off or being best or anything even remotely similar.. despite the fact that's the impression a lot of people seem to get from me - I'm not sure who you're saying is whining, but for me, it's about workmanship, simply doing the best you can in all avenues of life, no matter the task at hand.. and that's all I'll say about that I'm going to be updating the grading template to reflect a few finer points, like mirror quality.. so if you have any suggestions for that, let me hear 'em and while we're on the subject, Slyde changed the rules for this specific competition, as he wanted to draw in more kats without much modeling experience, so he capped the scratch points grading - I think he knows now, how beneficial that system is lol placing, fitting and welding a few verts would count as a 1, and real scratch work would count as 5 ..but with his tweak, no matter what you did, if you modified it, you got 0.5 points, which hindered the scoring.. but it's all good, as I said, I think he learned the value of that specific system lol other than that, I haven't voted yet, I can't decide LOL edit; @875, the wheels discoloration I mentioned was with the rim - if you watch any video of that car, you can plainly see that the rims have the same aluminum shade as the rest of the aluminum parts on the car, but on yours, (the fuel cell for example) is light, while the wheels are dark - and if that means taking the wheel texture and lightening it in Ps, then that's what should've been done (imo, as that's what I would've done) |

and how would you explain my No ENB shot of your car then? ...you know, the one where they're STILL DARK ![]() come on guy, this has been addressed, nobody grades based on ENB, we grade on how the things look in both worlds, not just the one and being that you're releasing to a world that uses both ENB and no ENB, it's your responsibility to make sure they look right in both, not just one - and if you don't want to be bothered with that, that's fine - but when you make that choice, you can't afterwards sit there and act like your view is the only one that matters |

For me I also gave my vote to Alex, Outz pretty much sums it all up lol. In second for me would be slydes, luv the car and didn't really like using the RIV mod, nothing's wrong with its just I prefer using standard camera views so I can see the car and by using the RIV mod it also had no engine like Kot was saying but overall loved it. Third for me was 875's IMO, I think he put some good work in their but should fix the things Kot mentioned. Next would be G's lambo, it looks awesome but problems but it is his first car for IV. And wired's jag was in 6th for me I also posted that the tires were too glossy lol. And last would be Rx's BIG let down here despite its good score was really looking forward to gettin this ingame and testing it but nuthin much else to say good luck to all

@Kot I never had that impression about you,I'm just saying that I have a certain amount of time that I'm willing to input into a mod,and I don't need to see shuts or mirror's mapped or any other insignificant details, that I hardly see when I'm playing IV,and for me it's not all about being the best in everything, cause there's no such thing in life, for me it's about being the best where it actually matters, and modding just isn't that important for me,and it never has been. Also I don't care that Slyde modified the scoring cause we all knew the rules before we entered the contest. As for the whining part it's mostly been Outsider and some others, for them,my message is : Just hire a modder who is willing to build you "perfect" car mods. |

I know all mods should bring mostly fun, and probably in 90% causes during playing IV, no one is looking at mirrors, ...opening doors only to admire nice sills, etc. So let's say I am looking only at exterior and what I can see after I spawn ur Jag wired... ? too big wheels, very annoying z-fighting between rims and tyre (it's always pissing me off), MIRRORED! atomic texture , ugly, bold calipers, fucked up normals at back corner etc. U can call it "whining" - ok. When I say "quality" I mean totally something different. But fine, I won't say nothing more as I believe it's ur "own quality standard" outs

The point is wired knows very well about these problems - he just doesn't give a rat's ass!. ![]() He probably knows that others want "more", but he's not making them for others, he's making them for himself and whoever can accept and enjoy them as they are. In conclusion, if someone is not aiming for a higher goal, you can't criticize him for not achieving it. ![]() You could criticize him for not setting a higher goal, but that's a different story. |

Chip got it all right,I just have my own standard for mods,I'm not saying it's true quality, cause it's probably not 100%,and I'm not saying that I don't model sillz, engines or boots,as I see it I model them better than most of the modding community, but I just don't care about the extra texture work, like calipers, mirrors, bolts and other such stuff. There are things that I will fix about my mods like the chrome, once I get it how to make it in IV,I will make my own custom tire once I have the time for it,that z fighting that you actually see is space between the tire and rim, cause I use the stock IV tire ,which is lower poly then the rim obviously, the overall rim wheel size will not change cause I like big wheels and I don't get it what you mean about mirrored texture.Other than that Outs you don't really see anything when you "spawn my Jag" ,cause you probably don't have it installed anyways.

I just test all cars except 2003 Porsche Boxster S - RapidX , comes a error when I try to download... Any way my vote goes to Alex189, in the overall is the best mod. PS: All the other cars looks great, but this is a contest and I only can vote for one. Edited by Patituli, Aug 23 2012, 10:20:00 PM.
