ever wanted to make a bad ass curvy exhaust manifold for that engine you just modeled or some premium exhausts for that nice WIP you just coppd but didn't know how? ...then using the poly modifier Hinge from Edge tool is what you need! (do I sound like a salesman yet? )k, using this tool is cake and it gives you awesome results (pic) all you need to do is create a cylinder, convert it to editable poly, select one of the cap polys and depress the Hinge from Edge button - on the pop-up, hit the "select edge" button, then in any viewport, choose the edge you want the curve to pivot on - modify the degree in the pop-up and repeat to your hearts desire |

np vlad, shit's easy eh? and never use turbosmooth or meshsmooth, all it does is increase the poly count and fuck off the mesh - in the modifier drop down (modifier CP) choose "smooth", check the "auto smooth" then right click in your modifier window and select collapse all... I just did a video tut on modeling a gibson cat-back exhaust to, when it's done processing, I'll add the annotations and post it
