About Tunngle In other words, you can use Tunngle with games that support LAN matches, and play with your friends online, without having a legal copy of the game.First you have to create an account, then download the latest Tunngle client. Installation is fairly simple, in addition to the program itself, a virtual network adapter will be created which connects you to the rest of the tunngle community. If you don't have UAC disabled I suggest you run the setup program as administrator. I. If you use a router to connect to the internet, it is recommended to manually setup port forwarding or port triggering. II. Make sure you allow Tunngle in your firewall. Sometimes clicking Allow in that Windows Firewall prompt isn't enough! Go to Control Panel and open Windows Firewall. On the left list you'll see Advanced settings - click it and a new window will pop up. Make sure Inbound Rules is selected and click on New Rule. Select Program, load the path of your TnglCtrl.exe, select Allow connection, click all 3 checkboxes, give this rule a name and click Finish. Then go to Outbound Rules and do the exact same thign for TnglCtrl.exe AND Tunngle.exe (2 more rules). PICTURES SOON.... III. Launch Tunngle, search for a game network and double click to connect to it. Now comes the tricky part... Most games require additional settings or applications in order to use Tunngle. I will write a simple guide for DiRT 3. Use Google for anything else. IV. DiRT 3 setup 1. Download TeknoGods (mirror for beta 21, latest as of this writing) and extract it anywhere in your PC 2. Run Tunngle and connect to a network 3. Launch the game but don't create or connect to a match yet 4. Alt-tab and run teknohelper.exe 5a. If you want to join a game, press Automatic Mode (Client) and wait for the 4 checkmarks 5b. If you want to host a game, press Automatic Mode (Host) 6. Go back to the game, select Multiplayer and then Local Network 7. Press F12 before you join a game and again after you have joined successfully (prevents crashing) UPDATE: When you first run Tunngle you are asked to select a network type, either Private (Home/Work) or Public. Whatever your choice, make sure you configure Windows Firewall to allow the game to communicate through that network type. Or simply select both. UPDATE2: Failsafe guide for Windows Firewall added. You can only join existing networks, where anyone can join in. But when you create a game, as a host you have to option to kick players, so manual filtering is available. There's also a built-in messenger where you can add contacts and chat with your friends separately (similar to steam). My nickname is the same as here. |

Lovely. Would be great if it works with IV/EFLC. Too bad I never downloaded D3. Never been a fan of rally racing. |

Software is still in beta stage. I've been using it for a year or two, it's pretty decent, and useful. Great option when you don't want to use Hamachi. @Spidereon, you can use it for IV/EFLC, but you need to get your hands on Teknogods 21 beta(now updated with support for Dirt3), which allows people to play GFWL games over VPN (Virtual LAN) of your choice (Tunngle/Hamachi). In GFWL games there's a slight issue with 30ms Ping limit when you want to play a LAN game. In other terms, you can't play/join your buddy if PING/Latency between you is more than 30 miliseconds. I can host the necessary files for y'all, but gotta ask Kot first, if he's ok with it. Just a precaution, you know, to avoid legal/illegal conflict ![]() EDIT: Nevermind, I haven't read the whole post from Chip. Sigh, what a waste of space.

my network reads no access on the tunngle's network as well but it works and I can play btw if you can spectate you should participate in races as well , prolly you were unlucky and couldn't find a server on witch the race wasn't started (after the race is started you can only connect as spectator) edit: Those guys didn't stand a chance in front of my audi ![]() |
