Hi guys,

i hope u can help me, i tried out the 3D Ripper tool, its amazing, thank u for the advice in this board..

Found some amazing Cars in Codemasters Dirt 2 wich i wanna convert to GTA SA.
So i decided to use the 3D Ripper.

Everything went fine, captured a good scene, but after importing it into 3ds max, everything was screwed up.

Is this a well known bug? cause if i try to import something out of COD4 or GTA SA, everything works well and the textures are on there right place..

But textures out of Dirt 2 are very.. u see it ;)

Any one can help?

Thanks in advance :)

Works :D
Thanks so much (both, vlady and kotton)
Ok, double Post but otherwise no one will notice it ^^

Next Problem i got is that the object is much bigger as it seems..
If i collect every object with its material in the material editor, theres just more, called environment. I guess thats the reason why the white grid is soo big ^^

How do i delete or resize it?

you mean the white lines that extend far beyond the car yes?
just select it and hit the delete button on your keyboard..

uhm the white lines are the box around the body object of the car, if i delete it, i delete the half body :S

actually they are tiny scattered polys left behind when u delete the scene around ur car..
so switch to vert mode n locate them n delete them... switch to fullscreen when u do this cos those polys appear like dots

oh I see it what you mean, those white lines are the bounds, I was thinkn it was a mesh.. sometimes when you use 3dr to rip, there are massive amounts of verts unassociated with a part that get mixd in with it - you'll have to go into vert mode and loop select those unwanted verts and delete them (just as Nm suggested, but in vert mode cause they won't show in poly mode)

@Nm "tiny scattered polys"? lool they're calld vertices bro

well in my case i found many free polygons that got seperated from the surrounding mesh(associated polys) as well as unassociated verts... back when i used the OLD 3dripper
n if u view a plane polygon from one view they appear as dots :)
n yeah i meant vert mode :)

Ok thanks, easy solution what a shame that i dont got it on my own

2 further Questions ^^

1. Like i said in my first post, there is still stuff called environment if i collect all materials in one slot:
Posted Image
Should i ignore the environment object or how do i delete it?
Seems to be some shader things left behind by the ripping..

2. In my viewport, big textures like 2048X2048 look very ugly as u can see, is there an option to show the textures in full qualitiy in the viewport?

Hope to get this awesome car done, mapping the lights is my next step :)
Thanks in advance..
