you save the mesh to .obj before import to Max yes? is that the only choice? ..if no, try another format either way, gettn@ that dude would definitely be a good thing edit.. I jusrt read thru all the pages after the tutorial.. and see all the similar mesh problems.. odd how none of them mention the main cause as beieng broken verts -and the new xtx to tga version is now working for forza ..so we'll have textures to woohoo

↑ +1 we're having mesh troubles- I personally don't think it's wise to hand out unworkable meshes ..as it'll only cause disappointment and of course associated whinery (but it's not up to me atm) - I'm @41%, so I should be good to go on monday at the latest, and hopefully we'll get some answers to these freakn mesh errors ..and if yall can't wait that long, TO FUCKING BAD lol btw, the process is a pain in the ass, don't be expectn a shitload of handouts people, imo, yall might as well start your DLs

bleah if I just import the model in max I get like ↑ or if I get my model through 3dsim I need to split it into 50 objects and I will get the faced flipped and some broken verts But hell the interior has perfect details

nah.. I read someone rippd the mesh from forza studio with 3dr and it came out the same way, all the verts are broken and the normals are fuckd off - imo it needs to be addressed and fixd by the kats that are creating forza studio (forza 3 resource extraction tool) |

Well i can only say for now that those meshes are damn weird idk wtf is up with them hope we find a fix for this problem tho or the world as we know it will go to an end btw the mesh looks quite nice and normal, until i convert anything to editable poly and all goes to fuck Edited by Arklite, May 1 2010, 02:23:17 PM.

looks like forza also has lod's that look pretty much like the nfs meshes only they need some chamfering all i know is that they need to be exported separately those used for exteriors and the hq interios = great models |

well i wont do any serious convert stuff unless they fixed forza studio..speaking of properly exported .obj, materials etc.
