-HNIC- Posts: 4,215 Group: Proprietor Member #1 Joined: July 16, 2008	idk 'bout where yall are.. but here, religious based holidays don't have much to do with religion anymore - they're more like a mental conditioning that everyone mindlessly carries out in the name of tradition - like christmas gets less and less about the birth of christ, and more about giving gifts, santa claus, mistletoes and all the commercial implications that come with it (billions of dollars to be spent and made) - likewise, easter has little to do with the resurrection, and more to do with the easter bunny, egg hunts, candy and again, the millions of dollars consumers spend - basically, it's just something to do that breaks up the monotonous insanity of working your entire life for absolutely nothing :) lol

We celebrate christmas only for the tree and the presents and easter...well, I didn't even want to celebrate it actually...but certainly I don't stick to religion... Many people still do it here tho, but they're mostly old geezers (70 or 80 years old), they're the only ones left who really know the meaning of there celebrations...
