K A I
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sileo x Nydith

It was beginning to get shadowy when she arrived in the homeless grounds for the first time; it wasn’t what Kai was expecting. The terrace was overrun and desiccated, pasture wasn’t much but there was still something covering parts of the dusty land. Kai wasn’t sure what to do in a time like this, the mare wasn’t voracious or parched, and all she wanted to do was rest up. Her journey from Rich Water was strenuous for the newly turned three year old mare. The blue roan sabino found a suitable place to rest for the night, underneath an almost bare tree, only now did Kai notice that the homeless grounds was inaudible. Sure, she saw many mares waiting for their prince charming but at night, it was noiseless, apart from the occasional scuffle from nearby creatures. Kai knelt down on her two front legs before lowering her bottom half, placing her on her side. She gazed out towards in front of her before slowly falling into a slumber

The morning sun woke up the young weary mare, birds chirping to rise the ones who slept in this vile piece of land. Kai elevated her slim frame upwards and shook off the dirty remnants from the terrace. A fluttering sigh exhaled from the mare’s mouth as she looked around the land; no one to accompany her yet. The blue sabino marvelled on the fact of stallions, she thought ‘what if no one wants to claim me?’ then she would certainly have to figure out another plan. But who wouldn’t want to claim this beauty? Any stallion would be senseless not to. Kai couldn’t be bothered moving from the place where she rested up, only moving a few steps to graze on the inadequate pieces of grass, and waiting.

The bay roan Clydesdale wanders around the place called the Homeless Grounds. He was not particularly fond of this place, though he had found his one mare here. True, though, it was not quite so wretched at night. When the moon and stars came out and filled the trees and grass with a silvery sheen and the heat of day was taken away the hustle and bustle went with it, it might actually be able to be called pretty. He was in somewhat of a hurry to get home. After spending the night here he had called off this visit as a bust and decided to try again a different day. The roan was anxious about being away from his newly acquired mare and did not like leaving her alone, though she did have the visiting mare he had welcomed in for company, but the two did not get along. This worried him. He was considering asking Sanctum if she would like to stay permanently, but he also wanted Alkippe to be happy. Oh, well. he thought to himself. Mares will be mares. It cannot be helped if they do not like each other, and maybe in time Alkippe will grow used to Sanctum. The stallion was walking slowly towards the exit, his mind occupied with his thoughts, when he caught sight of a beautiful blue roan sabino mare standing, eating grass by a tree, and astonishingly, she was alone. Perhaps today will not be a waste, he thought as he turned his large body towards her. As he walked closer to her he took in her features, her unique markings, her blue eyes, the lovely roan coloring. She had a thin and shapely build, being somewhat leggy and completing the pretty picture. The male stopped at a respectful distance and cleared his throat quietly so she would not be alarmed before saying, "Hello, miss. My name is Caesar, owner of Ivory Waters. May I inquire as to what you might be called?"

WELL SWEET MOTHER TERESA ON THE HOOD OF A MERCEDES BENZ
VAUS
'O there are days in this life, worth life and worth death'
_____________________________________________________

one, two, three

He is familiar with this place, with its confusing customs and unspoken traditions. If he’s honest, Vaus isn’t just here for the mares, although that is his main priority. He is half hoping to see that flash of chestnut he has been trying to track down for the past year or so, but his sister has simply vanished. Of course, he doesn’t expect any less. She was raised well, and she is related to him, thus automatically making her a master of concealing herself. He wishes he knew her ways of hiding. If he’s honest, Vaus wishes he knew a lot of what his sister was taught, that divine prophet she appeared to be in front of his family. The buckskin sighs, turning his dark eyes away from the shoreline. Taryn would make herself known to him when she wanted, and when it would suit her.

Back to the subject of mares, and Vaus has no immediate plan of how to go about looking for one. In his past experiences, the best policy is to meander round the homeless grounds until by chance a mare would stumble across him. So without further ado he sets off, his creamy pelt radiating in the autumnal glow of the leaves round him, his senses alert to the goings on around him. He had ended up staying here for the past few nights, because as beautiful and comforting as his new home was, it was simply easier. He is still amazed he found the land empty of inhabitants, especially on such a large continent as the Tranceland. There would be so much space, even with a good sized herd.

Just as he predicted, a mare came about quite by chance. The creamy hued stallion almost doesn’t see her but her hide is what catches his hide – and what a hide it is. Blue eyes to go with her blue coat as well. She is around his height, also a bonus, and although a heavier built stallion has just approached her, Vaus fancies his chances. Turning his compact body towards the young creature he ambles over, acknowledging his rival with a mere nod of his head before focusing his attention on the mare. ‘You know, the grass on the common grounds isn’t great. I know better places.’ He fixes her with a grin. ‘I’m Vaus, and you are?’

The sight of dawn was exquisite; she had certainly not seen something quite like it. The atmosphere was serene, if only the homeless terra was the same. Since she had time to herself, Kai speculated about where her parent’s whereabouts, Sileo; her father, had not been seen for quite some time now and she expected the worse- death. As for her mother; Nydith, Kai tried to seek her out back at her old home; Rich Water, but with all her efforts the young mare was unsuccessful in discovering her. Maybe, she too, was dead or maybe she had found a new home while Sileo was missing. In this complicated situation, Kai had nowhere else to go. She knew she had to find a new home, now that she was of age, but she was completely naïve about stallions in general. Kai didn’t chatter much with the other younglings back at Rich Water and from what her father presented about stallions was that they were of few words and apparently can go missing, which made Kai feel vague about finding a new home, nevertheless, she was doing it anyway.

Entranced by her thoughts, she had completely forgotten about being in the homeless grounds and knowing that any minute now, a stallion could approach her. But that had already happened. Kai flicked her auricles forward, hearing someone close by clear their throat before they spoke. With poise, she lifted her ladylike neck to see a rather tall stallion standing only a few paces away. While he was introducing himself, she had time to inspect him. His build appeared to be something along the lines of draft bloodlines and yet, he had a roaning colouration; interesting, she thought. His name was Caesar and Kai had no idea what to do in a situation like this, other than to introduce herself as well. The blue roan mare fidgeted about nervously before speaking; “nice to meet you Caesar” she managed to verbalize in a tone that was timid yet reserved.

In the short time frame, just as she was about to name herself to Caesar, another stallion approached. This one being much smaller in height than Caesar, his colouring was a milky buckskin and she watched from a distance as he was ever so polite to acknowledge that Caesar was there, by nodding his small and dished head. Kai was unsure about his bloodlines though, maybe he was a welsh; sporting a brawny build and not being quite as tall as Caesar. Kai’s attention was now directed at the newcomer, listening to him as he made a remark about the grass around here being not so appetising; which was true. She listened further and managed to catch his name, Vaus. Interesting, the both of them.

Fronting both stallions now, she grimaced and thought now would be a good time to say her name, “I’m Kai”, grimacing a little more before speaking a bit more, now directed at Vaus, “and what’s a better place than here, sir?” she wanted this all to be over with, she had no idea who to go with and she was completely unsure if another would turn up. Maybe it was her looks or maybe it was because they couldn’t find any available mares around here, which two stallions approached her and that was enough for her. Kai held both of them within her view and thought about these two handsome studs.

i've not yet begun to defile myself.
MARTYRDON'T ASK ME TO BLEED ABOUT IT; I NEED THIS BLOOD TO SURVIVE
The blue roan overo had paced the length of the island twice, his hooves cutting into the sand of the shore as he walked. This was his first time on the island since he had returned to his true home: Serpent's Province. It had been an exhilarating experience to say the least, the encounter with Marlee having jump-started the darkness that his family was known for. Though the mare was insane, it gave him the start that Martyr knew he needed. He would never risk losing the Province again, and having the crazed mare call it hers had steeped his veins in venom.

When his blue eyes did rest upon a mare, there were already two other stallions with her. Without thinking, as he normally would, about interrupting a conversation underway, the overo approached the group. His dark ears caught most of the conversation as he did so, including the mare's name. Martyr realized that no one would know him, as he had faded from any remotely political standpoints unless someone was allied with the absent Orion. He would use this opportunity to make himself known.

He was silent, new dark aura lining his movements and figure. "Hello to all." Martyr's bright eyes shifted from both of the stallions, paying them no mind as his gaze rested on the mare. She was notably pretty with, hopefully, the right mind to match. The overo offers a greeting nod from his painted head, focusing on her. "I'm called Martyr."

Caesar watched and smiled as the pretty mare before him smiled and said it was nice to meet him. She looked as though she was uncomfortable with having him in her presence, and he wished he could reassure her. She was just about to speak again to, he presumed, reveal her name when the sound of approaching hoof falls caught both of their attention. He turned his head to see a smaller buckskin stallion walking towards them. When the other nodded his head to him before introducing himself he dipped his own respectfully and turned back to the mare as she said somewhat nervously, "I'm Kai." Caesar smiled a little and said quietly, "A very pretty name to match a very pretty lady." Kai then directed a question towards the newcomer, Vaus, and right about this time another male showed up and introduced himself as Martyr. Caesar dipped his head again to the male who had such a similar coat to Kai's and said a soft "Greetings," before backing up a small step to give the lady some room. She must be feeling overwhelmed to have three suitors vying for her attention. The bay roan now stays quiet, waiting for Kai wither Kai to speak or Vaus to answer her question.

ooc;; Sorry for the wait and the short post. Ive been really busy this week :/

VAUS
'O there are days in this life, worth life and worth death'
_____________________________________________________

He doesn’t mind the presence of the other stallions at all. Vaus grew up in a herd teaming with colts his own age, if anything, it made him very prepared for a bit of competition. Needless to say that if this mare does decide that he is the right choice for her then the buckskin would feel smug, having taken her from under this stallion’s nose, although if she decides to set her interests elsewhere, then that is her loss. It isn’t like there aren’t other mares out there, albeit this one is very striking, and her manners seem to match her appearance in loveliness. He can find other pursuits to settle his time, go back to his land, pursue Taryn before some poor unsuspecting stallion takes her in under false circumstances. Needless to say that Vaus would let her stay with him if she could be persuaded, she is not right in her head and needs somewhere to look after her who knows her pain. However, having his devout sister around a herd preaching that Kestrel will rise again and smite the wicked might not be such a crowd pleaser, and for his own sake, he might be better off leaving her alone. Oh how complicated family politics can be.

Pleased that the other stallion was as courteous as the he had been to the taller male, Vaus’ brown eyes flick off to the side as another approaches. He is another paint, this time in a blue roan hue, and the buckskin cannot help but feel a little underdressed in the company of such finely marked stallions. Still, at least the three of them range vastly in stature and build, which might give him an advantage should the lady go for the shorter, stockier types. The newcomer seems pleasant, offering a greeting to everyone before turning his attentions to the mare. Vaus gives him a small smile, although a guarded one, before his head and ears turn back in the direction of the mare. She introduces herself as Kai. It’s short, unusual, and he likes it. It’s memorable. Caesar speaks before taking a step backwards, presumably to widen the uneven circle the group has formed. Vaus does not move, not feeling that his bulk is intruding on anyone, and gives Kai an almost cocky grin.

‘I think collectively we’d all say our own homes are better than here. Mine is Cedar Outpost, not particularly famous for anything in particular, but it is very hospitable, and the views are stunning. In my opinion.’ He says, hoping this would suffice her question. He would say more, but it would be impolite to not let Martyr speak up for himself, so the creamy hued stallion falls silent.
