"where once was light,
now darkness falls.
where once was love...love is no more."

It is no surprise that Pyralis has been initially drawn to the Marredland. The red horizon, cracked earth, and simmering heat are all an extension of the smoldering cruelty that lies beneath her metallic skin. She stalks, confident and at ease, her dark hooves leaving a trail of crimson dust that rises to cling to her bay hide, highlighting the red fire that seethes against her dark eyes. Inky black tresses, thin and slightly knotted, whip sharply through the warm air and against her willowy flanks. Defying the routine that many young mares follow upon breaching the known lands of Kormada, Pyralis had intentionally allowed her path to trail away from the Homeless. She is not needy, she is not naïve, and she is not weak—the red bay mare sees no sense in subjecting herself to such silly imprisonment, especially not to some witless stallion that seeks nothing deeper than the flesh that her slender body has to offer.

If anything, the tall mare can’t see herself succumbing to anything of the sort in the near future, but aimless wandering may eventually prove to be unexciting, and the fiery vixen is not above corrupting the lives of others to satisfy her own selfish amusement. Her own soul has already rotted and petrified into something wicked and cold, far past the point of feeling anything other than selfish malice. The nasty cruelty can be seen in the depths of her soulless dark eyes, the brutality nearly tangible as she glowers against the scarlet horizon, searching for anything that might arouse her interest.

Her boredom is embodied in the dull drone of her hooves, steady and light, a perpetual rhythm that illuminates her empty bitter thoughts. The Marredland holds little resemblance of the territory that held her childhood. Perhaps that is why Pyralis welcomes it, this unfamiliarity drawing her away from the memories that she seeks to forget, rather opening a new door to a path that now characterizes her callous character. Although never frail and defenseless, the red mare was hardly one to grow so cold; the acidity that laces her every move, hardens every word--it is not who she had expected to become, but a frame that she has accepted and molded into the monster that she is now. A beautiful, devilish monster.

A ghastly sneer, fringing on the verge of a terrible scowl, twists the mare’s lips into a dangerous expression. Pyralis knows little of where she is now, other than the fact that South Codex lies within the fiery pit of Kormada, but she can hardly concern herself with the petty details. It is obvious by the musky scent that pervades the warm air that a stallion resides here, but there is little more evidence to give her anything else. There is a brief moment of debate to call to the stallion, summoning him to her to give her something to do other than walk monotonously through the crimson wilderness, but it is quickly tossed aside. Surely if he is anything worth her time then he will seek her out (her own scent can hardly go unnoticed). Even so, the bright bay vixen has little hope for anything worthwhile to crawl from the pathetic dusty gutters of this wasteland.
