So we were supposed to write a short poem in school and I just did! It's pretty deep haha but I think that is just funny. It is in Icelandic so the translated version will probably not rhyme or sound okay but whatever haha. Icelandic version: Ung snót situr á veginum sorgmædd hún bíður eftir deginum. Kvíðinn og óttinn sem kvelur hana útaf kuldanum sem veldur öllum bana. English version: Young lady sits on the road sad while she waits for the day. Anxiety and fear that pains her because of the cold that causes everyone death. Okay so the end in the English version sounds very harsh haha, I was trying to find a nice way to translate it but it was hard. Anyways, this is just a small joke, I am not this deep. I just needed to make certain things rhyme and have alliteration and maybe you can see it in the Icelandic version. Like snót, situr and sorgmædd. The s's are the alliterations, then kvíðinn, kvelur and kuldanum are alliterations as well! yay! Veginum and Deginum rhymes and Hana and Bana rhymes! yay again! This poem is called Stafhenda but the dictionary wont tell me what it is in English. Anyways, I am sorry that you wasted your time reading this if you did haha. I'm just trying to avoid the studying <.< Edited by TheIceViking, Sep 9 2013, 12:39 PM.
