The young mare lifted her petite head and sniffed the air as she walked briskly into the Homeless. It smelt of what she had always imagined it would smell like: nervous stallions trying to lure promising looking mares back into their land, and equally nervous mares trying to decide who to go with. A good deal of the mares here had gone through something traumatic, painful, and sad to be in this land, homeless and lost. Many of the mares that came here had the Homeless filed in a sad place in their minds. But not Passion. No, in a way, the three year old equine was excited to find a land with a nice stallion, to be able to settle down after a life of travelling. She worried about the welfare of her father with her leaving, too, but she knew that March and Nolae would take care of him. She was also confident that they would be able to find the two missing family members without her help.

Passion took small, delicate steps forward, her black leopard appaloosa coat shining in the warm sunshine. Her amber eyes glanced at the equines that looked like giants to her. She laughed under her breath. She must have looked like a foal to everyone else here. At only 6 hands high, she was bound to attract some strange looks. The falabella chose a shaded place under a young, silver apple tree and lied down, sniffing the sweet flowers.

She looked again at the other equines here. Most of the stallions were no smaller than 14 to 15 hands high. There was not one in sight that looked anywhere close to her small height. It seemed unlikely that she would ever find someone that she could go with, even possibly have a child with. But still, she held out hope. She remembered her mother and father telling her the story of how they met. They, too, were so small, but they found each other nonetheless, and they were perfect for each other. That's why Passion was here. She held out the hope that a stallion was nearby, a stallion that would be perfect for her, too.

You tell me that you're sorry,
Didn't think I'd turn around
And say...
That it's too late to apologize.
The eight hand stallion prances around on the shoreline. He was in the homeless for the first time in his life and it was rather exciting and he was also nervous. He wondered if he would be able to find a mare that would want to join him, even though he was quite small. If he was lucky enough he might run into a mare around his height but he wasn't very positive. Atlas slows down to a trot as he heads into the homeless.

The black stallion with the appaloosa blanket looks around. All of the mares were so tall here and he feels a little embarrassed. For the first time in his life he felt ashamed for his height, the way some of the horses looked at him like he was a joke. He could see how the stallions laughed on the inside off him and if he could read their minds they were probably thinking why a small stallion like him would think he had a chance in the homeless. However Atlas didn't let it throw him off board. He kept on searching, holding on the hope of finding a mare for himself here.

Out of the corner of his eye he sees a mare and he can hardly believe what he is seeing. Was this some kind of a imagination? A beautiful small spotted mare stands on her own waiting. He can't help but smile when he sees the mare. Slowly the stallion approaches the mare. He then comes to a halt and smiles. "Hello there" he says and the happy tone could easily been heard. "My name is Atlas, you can't imagine how happy I am to see a mare around my height" he chuckles.

Passion's mind wandered as she waited under the shade of her apple tree. The mare worried for her father. He had grown terribly ill from depression ever since Pasqua and April disappeared. It didn't help his condition when Vivien ran away from the troubles of home. What made Passion worry even more was the fact that Bezec was now planning to go search for the two lost equines. In his state, she feared that he would be injured, even with March to look after him. The mare shifted uncomfortably. Maybe she should have stayed at home to help out more.

Passion's thoughts were interrupted when she saw a stallion begin to approach her. Could this be? The mare's eyes lit up. He was small, just a hand or two taller than she was, and he seemed to radiate sweetness. The stallion introduced himself as Atlas with a happy gleam in his face and voice. "You can't imagine how happy I am to see a mare around my height," he added. Passion wasn't sure how to react to the small, appaloosa stallion, but a small smile came across her muzzle.
"The feeling's mutual," she said quietly in a soft, sweet voice. "My name is Passion. It is nice to meet you, Atlas." Her voice didn't sound excited in any way, but inside she could hardly contain her enthusiasm. She had so many questions she wanted to ask the stallion, but she wasn't sure how to, exactly, so she waited for him to respond.
