The bright sunlight shone down on the Abyssinian horse as she walked gracefully to the Homeless. Her lips curled upward into a sneer as she sniffed the air with disdain. She could smell in the distance the stench of the Homeless reaching her nostrils. Her Dark parents always warned her about the Homeless, what an awful place it was. Naeva wasn't looking forward to coming here, but she knew that she needed to find a stallion and a herd to live in. That wasn't to say that she didn't like living in her family, but she wanted to start her own life. At four years old, she was certainly old enough to start moving on. As she strode into the Homeless, she took sideways glances with her bright green eyes at the mares and stallions that dotted the landscape. She pinned her ears back in disgust. The flattery that the stallions tried to use to lure the mares to their lands sickened Naeva. It sickened her even more to think that they liked it. Thank goodness she was not anything like those ridiculous animals. After finding a secluded spot far away from any other equines, the 14.2 hand high mare lied down, her rich, chestnut tobiano coat gleaming in the bright sunlight. As she basked in she cool shade, she let her thoughts wander. It had been a long, bumpy road for her to get to where she was now, but she was proud of the paths she chose. She remembered clearly the day she was captured by her soon-to-be "father", the day her life changed from there on and forevermore. It disgusted her to think that she, one day long ago, was more Light than Dark. What disturbed her even more was the thought that she enjoyed living that fleeting life. It was hard to put into words the gratitude she felt when her adopted parents taught her about the superiority of Darks, that it was the right way to go. It always was. Only fools chose the path of Lights. Naeva's green eyes scanned the horizon for any sign of a stallion that would approach her. Only if they were Darks would she even consider going with them. If one of those mindless Lights approached her, goodness help them. |

![]() The young stallion strides forward with a stately air, his long and wavy locks swishing against his sorrel-riddled hide. His blue optics peer over the spring landscape, nostrils flared at the various scents of mares in season. While Hazard was tempted to take any mare his blue eyes found, the stallion knew he had to pace himself and find the right mares to carry on his legacy. His strong shoulders allow muscles to roll over them as he trots forward powerfully. Hazard was a forgotten son to a rather well-known stallion: Viral. His mother was an ambitious Dark who sought only powerful sires for her children. But Hazard was different. When he was born, he was a dark sorrel color with no white markings, but no one could see his brindling, which was only a shade or two darker than the rest of his pelt. Once his baby coat shed out, he was gray with sorrel stripes all over his body. And Daire was proud of him. Hazard had no particular emotion felt for his mother. She was his dam; if worst came to pass, he would protect her. But she was her own horse, she could survive on her own, and he would not let her mooch of off him. His success was not her gain. Hazard had little knowledge of mares other than his interactions with Emerson and Testament, his half-sisters from Viral. Hazard remembered going to Devil's Rift with Hades, and taking on Alexei before that. While he had not known it at the time, Alexei was Hades' runaway son. Sensing that harboring someone who harbored the runaway would cause him problems, Martyr asked the brindle and the colt to leave Loon Echo Lake, which was the whole reason that the brindle had even claimed Cedar Helm Forest to begin with. But now that it had happened, Hazard could start his own herd like Martyr had failed to do early in his life. This all boiled down to Hazard being here now. It is at this moment that the sorrel-brindled stallion notices a tobiano patterned female. She is pretty, shorter than he from what he could guess from a distance. She was in a more secluded place, but this only draws him toward her. She only wanted someone who would come looking for her. And here he was. The stallion blinks, blue eyes piercing as they rest upon the mare again. A low nicker rumbles in his throat as the Orlov-formed male comes near her and stops a respectable distance away. The Dark nature festered and roiled about his form: confident, daring, elegant, powerful. Time would tell how they would get on. "Hello. My name is Hazard."This was as much his debut as hers; his blue eyes smoldered. i need to know that feelings of discontent are stronger than indifference for those too weak to standmale . sorrel-brindled gray . orlov - stockhorse hybrid . 16.3 hands . viral x daire . cedar helm forest Edited by ƒierce, Jul 14 2013, 01:20 PM.

The mare's lips curled into another sneer when the scent of a stallion neared her. Piercing green eyes turned to look at the equine that walked towards her. He had a handsome build with equally handsome markings; he was marked with sorrel brindle that stood out against his gray hide. It was apparent that he had Orlov Trotter blood in him, but she could tell that his line was not pure. Naeva would have preferred a stallion that was the same breed as her, though to the mare it was not necessary to keep her line pure. He was taller than she was by at least two hands, but his size did not intimidate her. If he hoped that it would, hoped that she was some ditzy, skittish mare that he could order around, then he was going to be sorely mistaken. The brindle stallion greeted Naeva with a gentle nicker and a customary "hello", stopping a comfortable distance away. He introduced himself as Hazard, but mentioned nothing about where he lived or what alliance he stood with. Naeva hoped for both of their sakes that Hazard was a Dark, not some foolish Light that just happened to stumbled across her. Otherwise, things were not going to go down well. Just a moment later, Naeva noticed another stallion nearing the two. The Abyssinian horse kept her sneer as he joined them. This stallion was a simple bay dun with no outstanding markings like his fellow bachelor. He was smaller than both of them and was lightly built. He nodded his head respectfully to Hazard and then turned to look at Naeva, introducing himself as Mosi. The tobiano mare snorted. This stallion told her nothing about himself apart from his name, just like Hazard. Did neither of them find the information relevant? The mare opened her mouth to speak and folded her ears back in a fashion that could be mistaken for threatening. "I certainly hope that you stallions have more to offer than just your names," she said with a smirk. "I'm Naeva. Dark. If either of you are anything but that, then you might as well leave now." She straightened her neck and back confidently, keeping a piercing gaze locked on both of the stallions as she waited for them to reply. Edited by Oppolti, Aug 19 2013, 01:04 PM.

When the mare folded her ears back, Hazard only responded with a smirk. He wasn't threatened by her "intimidating" looks or demeanor. After she speaks, the brindled stallion retorts with a short, harsher-sounding chuckle. "I have plenty to offer. I'm not so sure about Mosi here." The Orlov-formed male inclined his head, neck arching attractively with the action. His fiercely blue eyes made direct contact with the green of the mare's. How could he be mistaken for anything but a Dark? A snort vibrated through his nasal cavity before the brindle went on. "I live in Cedar Helm Forest: a jungle-like territory with vines hanging from the trees. The trees and vines seem matted together near the borders, so any unwanted company is thwarted easily enough. I live there with four mares that I just won in battle." Hazard offered the tidbit about battle to make it apparent that he was successful, and he would get what he wanted. | ||||
