Paloma groaned as she staggered forward, headed in the direction that she hoped pointed towards the Foaling Quarry. It had been such a long time since she had been there, but she still remembered clearly how it worked. It was the kind of thing that was hard to forget. As she made her way there, she found herself growing more and more worried. She wished that Tofa was there with her, helping her along and comforting her when she struggled to keep on going. But she knew that he had other things to do. The mare glanced down at her large barrel. She could feel the large foal shifting position, urging her to walk faster. Even though she was exhausted from the trip, the pain, and the extra weight that she bore, she forced her weak legs to move quicker. It felt like a long while before she entered a large, familiar smelling clearing.
Her nostrils flaring with every deep breath, she looked around with amber eyes. She saw many mares, some accompanied by their mates, lying around. The smell of sweat and the sound of panting, laughs of joy, and shrieks of pain filled the air. There was no mistaking it; she had made it to the Foaling Quarry, the place where mares went to have their foals, where they went to start or add to a family. She would have smiled were it not for the pain she felt. Stumbling forward, she chose a secluded spot nearby with a large tree, collapsing under the weight of the foal and her tired legs. She shut her eyes and breathed heavily, her already large barrel expanding with every heaving breath.

This was, by far, the most difficult and painful pregnancy. The foal being so large, it took it's toll on the 16.1 hand high akhal-teke mare. With a neigh, the mare shut her eyes and bared her teeth, trying to fight the pain. Now, more than ever, she wished Tofa were here. She needed a dose of his comfort and optimism right about now. She lied there for a minute or two, helpless and numb from pain, her eyes still shut and her barrel still swelling with every breath. Soon after those few minutes passed, she cried out in anguish, suddenly feeling the urge to begin pushing. It was hard, painful, and tiring, but she soon felt a body exit hers and land on the soft grass. Opening her eyes, she turned her around to look. What was it?

She soon found herself setting amber eyes on a large, handsome, dark grullo colt. She smiled brightly and choked out a laugh. He, just like Zoiros, inherited her brindling. He had her eyes, too. The foal snorted and shook his small head while his mother licked him off gently.
Paloma looked at her new colt and smiled, thinking of a name that would suit him perfectly and also go with his brothers' names. After a minute of thinking, she nodded to herself. Genesis. That would be his name. Nudging her newborn, she got to her tired feet and set off towards Candlestick Cliff, excited to show Tofa their healthy new colt.
