The appaloosa has seen many difficult times in her eleven years, but this time it was different. The brindle stallion, Raoden had been running right beside her when he fell through the sink whole. She had come to a halt and done all she could to try and find him without falling in herself, but there was no trace of him. Her heart broke as it had before, but she didn't stay. The leopard appaloosa had run to the only place she felt safe, the homeless.

The mare lifted her body out of the freezing surf and onto the snowy sand. Her mismatched eyes were shiny and if she had the ability to cry she would have. Now her second love was gone. The mare shook herself off and took off toward the homeless' interior where she knew there would be more shelter from the cold. She quickly came to a large tree. Although the branches were bare the trunk was large enough to keep some of the wind at bay. The mare moved to the trunk and lifted her head to look up into the tree's branches. They had a layer of snow weighing them down, but it did not appear that any were close to breaking so the mare settled in.

Zaltana may have been eleven, but by no means could anyone tell. She was a beautiful mare with her flashy black spots dotting her white coat. Her build gave her a sturdy look, but she was not heavy. She maintained a nice shoulder and sloping hind quarters. No one would be able to tell that she had carried three foals in her younger days. She was simply stunning and her personality only added to her beauty. Despite her past the mare was sweet and had a playful side. She only hoped that she could find a stallion to take her home to a land where she could live out the rest of her days in peace.

Ain't got no cash, ain't got no style
Ain't got not girl to make you smile
But don't worry be happy
Cause when you worry
Your face will frown
And that will bring everybody down
So don't worry, be happy
The fifteen hand stallion wandered slowly through the homeless. The thick winter coat kept him warm from the cold breezes that passed by. He hoped that his mares and colt were alright at home, he didn't mean to stop by for too long. Devar was in fact searching for a mare that had gone missing from his herd a while ago. She had left Glimmer to give birth to their offspring but never returned. The stallion often regretted not going with her but there was nothing he could do about it now. He would just have to hope she was alright and would one day return. It saddened him however that two of his mares had left him with their foals, when the stallion was young he had been with a mare. That later left with his first foal. He tried not to focus on the past that much. Devar had allied with the rogues for few years before claiming Glimmer and settling down again. Shortly after that he had met Dasha and she was a lovely mare. Their colt Devaraux was a year and a half now, but it felt like it was only yesterday that the mare had returned with the newborn. The painted stallion was very proud and loved being there for his colt.

Devar bent his head down and ate some snow that melted in his mouth filling his mouth with fresh water. He could feel the cold water run down his gullet when he swallowed. When the stallion raises his head he notices a beautiful mare standing under a tree. A smile crossed over her lips, that mare was alone which was nice. The palomino paint was rarely jealous when he was talking to mares and other stallions were around but he liked it a lot more if he could have a relaxed conversation with one mare only. The stallion slowly begins to approach the mare.

He comes to a halt in front of the mare and smiles nicely to her. "Hello there" he said with a soft and calm voice. "My name is Devar" he said again. The stallion had grown older and he knew pick-up lines were nothing that would help him gain any mares. A nice conversation about him would help the mare make up her mind. However he wasn't quite sure where to start. It had been a while since he had been here and he felt a little rusty. "A beautiful day isn't it" he said and scratched the snow with his hoof. He looked at the mare and smiled to her.

Zaltana watched the landscape that was laid out before her. There were a few horses coming and going, more than had been hanging around when she had last been in this place. Most mares didn't like the homeless for various reasons, but the spotted mare had her own reasons for liking it. She had found a stallion who had turned her life around and given her much happiness over the four years that they were together. Today she hoped to find another stallion of similar caliber if anyone came her way at all. The mare didn't look old by any means, but her build did tell of her maturity.

The mare's brown and blue gaze caught sight of a stallion coming her way. He was well built with what looked to be an overo pattern. Even in the snow the mare could tell that his coat shed out into a nice palomino color. She could tell that he was mature and that let her assume he knew what he was doing. He came to a stop in front of her and spoke his name and said it was a beautiful day.

The mare's speckled lips parted in a smile. "My name is Zaltana." She let her tail move across her hocks. "It is beautiful today. It's just a little bit cold for someone who just came out of the water, but I will finish drying soon enough." She looked the stallion over for a moment and then turned her eyes back to the landscape. "What kind of a herd do you run, Devar?" For some reason she wanted to get right to the point. She wanted her time in the homeless to be short.

Judah i will fight one more fight
The young stallion walked silently down the shore of the Homeless, green optics occasionally glancing wistfully toward the sea's mildly calm waves. The cherry bay of his hide was dull from his winter coat; the Hybrid male was brimming vitality. All though he id not know it, an uncle of his had die recently. A brindle called Raoden. His father's half-brother. Little id he know, a mare of that very same uncle was the mare he was about to come across. She was pretty. Spotted. A bit older than him, but what was age when you had all the time in the world? The young male assesses the stallion that comes to the leopard mare first. Splashed with gold, handsome. But Judah knows that few stallions are gifted with brindling as he was, his own colored black, stark against the cherry color of his hide.

The younger stallion approaches, clearly in a pleasant mood. He was respectful toward both mare and stallion, stopping a comfortable distance away and nodding to either one of them. "Hello. I hope I'm not intruding. I am called Judah." The cherry bay was not naive enough to think that they would have waited to have a conversation with him. He ha heard some of their conversation. The palomino paint was Devar. The mare was Zaltana. Now he was here. Devar would have to work harder to get her.

His ears rotated forward when the mare spoke her name. She introduced herself as Zaltana and a smile crossed over his lips when she spoke. The mare agreed that the day was beautiful but added that it was cold for someone who recently came out of the water. Devar nodded to the mare. "You are right about that, it is a little cold" he says and looks around. The air from his nostrils comes out like smoke. The mare then asked the stallion what kind of a herd he ran. For a moment he wasn't quite sure what she meant by it, was she asking about the alliance of the herd or what?

After some thinking the stallion, when the stallion was about to answer her question another stallion approaches. The stallion that called himself Judah had a brindle coat. Devar wasn't used to seeing those around. Devar nodded politely to the stallion that appeared to be a bit younger than he was. The pinto stallion then focuses on the mare again to answer her question. "I currently hold claim over three mares, they are all of the neutral alliance" the stallion says and pauses, he decided to add a little bit information about his territory as well. "I live in Glimmer, located in the Northern Mainland, it is not a big land but it is easy to live there" he says to the mare.

The mare might not have asked for the description of his territory but it was always good to include a little bit of information that could help her decide where she wanted to stay.

The appaloosa had barely closed her mouth when she caught sight of a brindle stallion coming her way. She almost ran to him, but stopped herself and elicited only a shutter. The handsome Raoden was gone out of this world forever, never to be seen again. However, this young stallion who had come to stand in front of her resembled him in a strange way. She could almost see the stallion within this brindle. As though if Zaltana touched him the stallion would return. The thought was shattered when the stallion spoke, naming himself Judah. The mare forced a smile onto her speckled lips. I am Zaltana, just in case you missed my earlier introduction. it is nice to meet you, Judah."

Zaltana's attention turned back to Devar as the pinto began to speak. She noted that he had a few mares and had some experience. That calmed her a little bit. She was very worried about being left alone or being cast away. So many things has happened in her life and though now she had her fears under control they still resurfaced from time to time. This was definitely one of those times. She was still grieving with loss, but she felt the need to move on. "I'm sure Glimmer is a lovely place, Devar."

She then looked from Devar to Judah. "Could you each give me a description of yourselves please." She hoped that getting to know the two stallions would help her come to a decision of which one she should go with. Right now she felt very lost.

Judah almost felt like the mare's smile was forced in his direction; his ears splay to either side and then rotate backward. Had he done something wrong? She introduced herself in case he hadn't heard her name. Zaltana speaks to the painted stallion again then to both of them, asking for a description of their lands. Though he had not arrived first, Judah felt the inclination to go first. He nods to the other male respectfully before speaking. "I live in Cleric's Realm. It's not a well-known land from what I gather, but it is beautiful nonetheless. There are dense woods and beautiful flowering meadows. A river trails through the land. Hills provide divine views all throughout the land. I think it's simply paradise, but what stallion doesn't think that of their home?" The black-riddled stallion chuckles lightly at his comment. He was pleased with his land and had been lucky that his cousin had so willingly given it to him.

The palomino pinto stallion's ears pricked forward when the mare spoke, asking the stallions to tell her about themselves. His ears rotated when he heard the brindle had begun to speak, however he did not speak of himself. The pinto wasn't quite sure if the brindle had misheard what Zaltana had said but he decided to stay quite and allow the stallion to finish speaking. Devar waits patiently, soon Judah falls silent and the palomino assumes that it is his turn now. "I would describe myself as a relaxed stallion" the pinto says. "As much as I would like my mares to be close to me I do allow them to get their space, though I am not very fond of my mares crossing the border of my territory without my knowing" he adds. His creamy tail swings from right to left. The palomino was starting to like the mare, she seemed nice and appeared to be a good addition to his herd. Devar wasn't sure if Dasha had made any friends in the herd yet but he was sure that the silver dapple mare and Zaltana would get along very well.

The appaloosa saw that Judah's ears had gone back. She didn't really blame him. He didn't know about what had happened. She felt bad. It was not his fault that he was brindle like her former claimer. She was unsure if she should explain herself to the young stallion or not. Perhaps now was not the time. She listened to him contently and nodded to him when he finished his speech. She was sure his land was beautiful, as many of them were. Her attention then turned to Devar and listened to his words. She thought his regulations for his mares were very considerable. She felt that the time was drawing close for her to choose one of them. She looked from one to the other. They were both handsome stallions that she would be happy to go with, but she feared that she would only see Raoden in Judah and that would not be fair to the young stallion. "I believe that I have come to my decision. You are both wonderful stallions, but I would like to go with Devar."
