» The golden dappled vanner hybrid stepped into the homeless grounds. To say the young maiden was nervous would be an understatement. Her father had sheltered her from the very beginning of her life and though he taught her everything she needed to know about living in the world it was still a frightening yet oddly exhilerating feeling of absolute freedom. Not that her Sire and Dam had restricted her movements, she had just never felt a desire to explore other places besides her home. Waverley was a fresh face looking for that special some-stallion, though really Waverley would just be happy with another light stallion and a few mares for her to socialize with. By nature she was a happy mare and was bubbly. Generally speaking she could annoy other horses who had a short fuse but rarely was she ever mean and loved just chatting. As Waverley advanced further into the homeless grounds he nerves grew and she began to worry if no one liked her and what if she never found a home.

OOC: sorry about the short length hopefully it will get better over time.

Buck
don't push me - i'll fight it

___________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Buck stepped confidently into the homeless. He was not at all intimidated by this place or by the fact that he might leave her empty-handed. To him, the homeless grounds was just another land in Kormada, and another wonderful challenge to face. Having a Rogue's life under his belt gave him a sort of confidence and bravery when it came to things like this. And he had the curiosity to try out a completely different life than the one he had been born into. Today, Buck was fearless. He was eager to talk to mares, knowing that whoever he approached might be his very first herd mare.

The Mustang's ears were pricked forward, his eyes gleamed with a wonderful light, his face was bright, and at the corners of his lips there was a smile. He was so eager to start this life. He felt the power of being in control run through his veins and fuel him. But it was a different kind of power than the one he had experienced as a foal so many times when he and his mother went to set something on fire or steal things. Ah, that Rogue life had been exhilarating. But Buck wanted herd life, no matter how much his mother detested it. She had the love to support him in his decision, though.

Buck stepped forward and bobbed his head up and down almost victoriously. He was ready for mares. His keen, predator-like eyes caught sight of a beautiful mare. She was a beautiful golden in color, with angelic mane and a muscular build. He could see the Gypsy Vanner blood in her. Buck grinned to himself. He would approach her. He just hoped that she was not a Dark. Buck would refuse to speak to Darks.

The three year old cantered up to the mare, giving a kind nicker at his approach. He stopped gracefully in front of her and smiled. "Greetings. My name is Buck, and I have claimed Hope's Marsh. Would you be so kind as to share your name and alliance?"

It's not much of a life you're living
It's not just something you take, it's given
The sixteen point one hand stallion trotted proudly into the homeless grounds. The cool winter air played with his dark colored mane. The last time the stallion had been here was somewhere between spring and summer, shortly after his battle. The wounds from the battle were mostly healed; however the deepest cut on his barrel was still visible. The paint horse was sure that the fur would grow over the pink skin sooner or later, though the wound wasn't visible right now because of his thick winter coat.

Théoden had claimed two mares so far, the first one he had claimed was Grenache and she had joined him with her newborn filly Millesime. The stallion had accepted it, however he would also be pleased to have an offspring on his own but that would just come later. The stallion was patient and wouldn't like pushing on his mares. Then there was Epiphany, the appaloosa mare he had met in the homeless. The two of them hadn't gotten to know each other very well but he was hoping that he could get to know her better, both of them actually. He was one of the stallions that would like to know his herd mates; he would hate if he would feel like a stranger to one of his mares.

As the dun overo stallion wandered through the grounds looking for a mare that would suite him he noticed gypsy vanner looking mare, her coat color looks palomino but the stallion wasn't quite sure. When he came closer he was able to see the white markings on her body, on her legs, face and on her belly. A smile crosses over his lips before he starts approaching. The stallion was a little bit away from the mare and out of the corner of his eye he saw another stallion approaching the mare. Théoden remembered the time where he was one of five stallions or so to approach a mare, he just hoped that things wouldn't be so crowded this time.

Théoden comes to a halt in front of the mare and listens to the stallion introduce himself. He overheard that his name was Buck and now he talked about his territory. Soon the stallion who appeared to be a bit younger than him asked for her name and alliance.

The blue eyed stallion didn't mean to interrupt but he decided to give the mare his name and his territories name before she would speak. "I don't mean to intrude but my name is Théoden, I am of the neutral alliance and I hold claim over Bracken Bracken, located in the Northern Mainland. Beautiful land" the painted stallion said before allowing the mare to introduce herself and tell them what her alliance was. He felt like he was being a little rude for squeezing in there but technically he was there the whole time, he just introduced himself before she would answer Buck's question.

" I can't help but stare 'cause I see the truth somewhere in your eyes "

» Waverley was just beginning to calm down to get her self ready to be approached by total strangers, horses who were not family. Perhaps it seemed very sheltered of her to become very nervous when approached by a complete stranger, but she had never had any practice talking with anyone other than the members in her family of course her father had tried to teach her how to be sociable but it was much easier with him because he was her father and not some intimidating hulk of a stallion. The unknown was a scary place and Waverley was about to dive head first into the dark abyss. Waverley shifted her weight around trying in vain to get comfortable. The cold winter wind ruffled her shaggy golden coat making her shiver. Why she had chosen the middle of winter to head out into the new world was something she herself did not understand, but it was done and now her fate rested on the stallions who approached her. Waverley tried to ward off her anxious and apprehensive feeling but was unsuccessful. So she stood their fretting over her future and the uncertainty of it.

» Waverley began to question wether she was pretty enough to even draw the attention of even one stallion. Panic started to set in though she kept her expression carefully controlled so no one could tell she was freaking out. Perhaps she had come to the wrong area, but her father had not told her about any specific area of the homeless she was supposed to be in. All Waverley's worries were for nothing because only a few minutes later she was approached by a stallion who was shorter than she was and stockier in build for a non-drafty horse. He was a rather interesting looking, she had never seen a horse with barring on their legs before and it intrigued the golden dappled mare. But when she looked up from checking him out she got really shy and if horses could blush she would be a pink. Before she could introduce herself Waverley was again approached by another stallion he was almost the same color as her, except she was a bit more golden than he. This stallion was also very hadsome, with two equally handsome stallions in front of her Waverley choked up she tried to speak but it was as if her vocal chords were blocked. Waverley stood there looking at her hooves for a moment trying to compose herself enough to speak. Eventually (which was really only moments later) she raise her proud head and spoke, "I-I-I..." She was embaressed about her stutter but there was nothing she could do about it. When she got nervous she stuttered.

» Taking a deep breath she tried again this time sounding a bit more normal. "H-Hello, Buck and Th-Theoden..." Waverley wished she did not sound so childish and shy, she wished she could be confident like all the other mares in the homeless. Perhaps she was still a bit too young to be looking for a home and a family of her own, but even as the though passed through her own mind she shoved it in a closet and locked the door. She was more than ready to begin a life of her own, she just needed to seem more confident. "My n-name is Waverley, it is nice to meet both of y-you." she said with a bit more confidence. It also helped that her stutter was slowly disappearing as she got more comfortable with the stallions in front of her. "I am part of the L-Light alliance." Waverley did not know where either of their homes were though that was not surprising seeing as she had never been out of the Scantland before now. "I c-come from Otters Haven in the Sc-scantland." Waverley smiled bigger feeling better that she now knew their names and where they came from. "Tell me why I should choose you and how many mares you have, p-please?" She almost made it through the entire sentence with out stuttering and she was proud of herself. Waverley waited patiently as she waited for her stallions to respond.

Buck
don't push me - i'll fight it

___________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Buck nodded in acknowledgement at Theoden's approach. A little competition cruised through his veins, but it was only to be expected. It was his first time here, after all, and now there was an opponent.

Buck focused when Waverley spoke. He grinned faintly at the mare's stammering. Oh, your stammering is so cute, he thought of saying teasingly, but he managed to restrain himself. His grin did widen a bit, though. But then his eyes sparkled when she stated what alliance she belonged to. The Light alliance - excellent. His ears pricked forward happily. Waverley then explained where she had come from. Ah, the Scantland. Buck was quite familiar with that continent. He held his days as a Rogue with great pride.

The Mustang stallion listened to her question. It seemed like a fair question, he supposed. A good place to start. Getting right to the point. No stalling. But now Buck had to think of an answer to the first part of her question: why she should pick him. Buck's gaze narrowed thoughtfully as he searched for acceptable answers. After a moment, he spat out the first thing that seemed at least somewhat decent. "Well, Waverley... I think trying to explain why you should choose me isn't exactly... wise. I think that perhaps as the conversation progresses you'll learn more about me than what I could explain in words. I could tell you my history, but I believe that maybe personality and trust issues should just shine through on its own." Okay, that was pretty terrible. Buck inwardly kicked himself. He hoped at least Waverley thought it was good. If she did, then he would be satisfied.

"I have no mares currently. I'm hoping to change that pretty quickly, though." Buck chuckled.

Théoden stood close and listened as the mare spoke. She stammered a little bit and the stallion wondered why. The painted stallion stopped focusing on it since it was none of his business and maybe she was ashamed for her stammering. Instead he listened to the words she was saying. The golden colored mare introduced herself as Waverley and a smile crossed his dark colored lips. He listened to her as she kept on talking, telling them that she was a part of the light alliance and the she came from Otters Haven in the Scantland, and he admitted that he hadn't heard of that territory but he was familiar with the continent. Waverley soon asked why she should choose them and how many mares they had. Théoden came second so he assumed the younger stallion would go first. This would give him some time to think before answering. However he couldn't help but to listen to what Buck had to say.

The sixteen hand stallion listened to the younger stallion; he told her she would more likely learn about him as the conversation progressed. Théoden looked over at the stallion for a second before turning his gaze back on the beautiful mare in front of him. His ears rotated once the stallion began speaking again telling her that he had no mares so far. Now it was his turn to speak and he had decided what he was going to tell her.

"The reason why you should pick me" he said before continuing. "I don't want to sound egoist but I fought for my territory and won that battle, so I am sure I can keep you safe from danger" he said and paused for a second. "Then I think I am quite a nice stallion and treat my mares well, I have two mares at home, one with foal who isn't mine though but I treat her as my own" the stallion added. A calm expression crossed the stallions face as he waited for the mare to ask her next question. His blue eyes were focused on the mare. To be honest the stallion thought he had answered her question quite well. He had been honest when he spoke and he hoped the mare would appreciate that.
