Imagine stand in the rain, stand your ground, stand up when it's all crashing down ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Imagine cantered quickly across the cold-flecked homeless. Her breath puffed quickly in front of her as she took shallow breaths. Her albino figure reflected the bright winter sunlight. Clouds were rolling in opposite of the direction of the sun - clouds that looked like they had snow ready to fall from their clutches. The grass was brittle and had developed a bitter taste to them. A soft but chilly breeze was blowing across the land. The naked trees stood around the land, offering almost no shade unless they were clustered together. Shade was what Imagine was after. She hated the sunlight for what it did to her sensitive skin. She had just been grazing in a meadow to store energy for when the snow blanketed everything. But that meant she had been standing out in the sun for about an hour, and now she needed shade. She figured that she would not allow herself any shade until she reached the homeless - that way, it would motivate her to get there faster and get the process of finding a herd to live in end quicker. The albino zebra made her way towards a vast, heavily-branched forest. She cantered inside and came to a halt. She then turned to look at the beautiful land before her with her red eyes. The crisp smell of winter hung in the air, but Imagine would not know that. The flowers had lost their scent long ago, and the scent of the leaves was about to be covered up by fresh snow. But what did flowers and leaves smell like? Having no sense of smell weighed heavily on the mare. She knew that such a sensation existed, and that it was magnificent and exhilarating at times, and downright awful at others. But that was it. She had no idea what it was like to smell. Her only eye with sight caught a flock of Kormadian geese flying high in the sky. She could see that some of them were honking loudly. At least she knew what that sounded like. Only now she could not hear anything, despite her large, circular ears. She had gone deaf - it had developed at age two. And what was color like? She only knew black and white and gray. What was it like to feel your vocal chords rumbling in your throat as you talked? What was it like to be able to stand in the sun all day? What was it like to be able to taste things so clearly? What was it like to be... normal? Imagine could only communicate to others through a touch-language she had invented as a child. Would anyone have the patience to learn it, though? She would be able to understand them through lip-reading... mostly. But there would be no way they could understand her unless they learned her language. And how would she cope living with equines? She had been taught all her life that they were simple-minded and crude in their ways of life. She had believed that zebras were the dominant species - she had been fed lies all her life and only recently had she questioned them and saw the truth. But... she still felt the lies that had been fed to her as a child. The only way she started questioning was through warfare - hardly a kind way to start to learn truth. Imagine would not give up, though. She felt hope in the future, and she felt that a new, brighter future started here. Even though the homeless was dreadful, Imagine was ready to leave here with a stallion leading her away. Or at least, she hoped she was ready. Whoever claimed her would need to pay special attention to her; Imagine could not even find water without it being shown to her, and eating plants she did not recognize was too foolish. They could be poisonous, but she would not know it until it was too late. Imagine snorted in distress and waited patiently for someone to approach as she relaxed. It was the beginning of winter for Kormada and it was a sudden change in temperature, the autumn vivid colours now turned to an almost pale white with a light blanket of snow covering half the trees in some parts of Kormada. The sky above him wasn’t so bright, the colours from autumn now seemed to have been drained and clouds overcastted Mairon whilst he was making his way to the crude land of the common grounds, his least favoured place to be travelling to, especially now that it was winter, he didn’t feel it was safe to leave his darling mares at Imperial Point, what was more on his mind though was the latest addition to the herd that Lenore had provided him with. A foal, the pale colt named Satyr, Mairon was still in awe over how much Mairon resembled in him, especially in the way he moved. The dappled buckskin stallion could tell he had finally fulfilled at least one mare’s desires. Unlike Lenore, he wasn’t sure why his other mares hadn’t asked for a foal, Mairon had assumed that they weren’t ready which was fine with him. Populating Kormada wasn’t the highest priority on his agenda. White snow crunched underneath the heavy steps of Mairon whilst he made his way through the common grounds, occasionally switching glances between nearby mares that didn’t interest him or already had a group of cocky stallions crowding the mare. He upturned his nose in a crude manner; stallions that crowded a mare or looked at them like they were trophies really unsettled the stallion. Nevertheless, he made his way through the grounds in a slow and dazed walk, cautiously looking out for someone to catch his eyes and be worth talking to. A heavily branched forest came into view with his chestnut eyes, he was intrigued to go inside and see what would be hiding in there. The dappled stallion hadn’t been anywhere near the forest, he wasn’t really expecting anyone to be residing in there, and then it came to his mind, why would anyone want to hide? The stallion picked up his pace to a trot, tucking in his muscly formed neck towards his rippling chest pecks, steadying himself for whatever may remain in this forest, whether it be danger or not. The forest branches lightly marred over the sides of his stomach and neck as he had entered the forest. The lighting appeared to have dimmed and put a strain on his sight, his eyes squinted just a little now as he tried to catch a clear image. His murky nostrils flared at the eccentric scents he seemed to be picking up, some were equine and some were not. As he stepped further into the forest, bits of twigs would snap underneath his careful stepping. Mairon swivelled at the sounds of the cracking twigs underneath him but couldn’t quite hear out anything else. The stallion had spent a generous amount of time roaming around the eerie insides of the forest and he was just about to exit the odd place before a very pale and small figure had caught the rear view of his vision. Mairon quickly but swiftly turned his head in the direction of the pale figure and saw that it was a zebra? Yes a zebra. He hadn’t seen anyone like this around Kormada since he had arrived, he snorted in a confused state of mind, tilting his head slightly to the left and watching the equine gaze outwards of the forest. He snorted again and nodded his head, deciding it would be a good idea to approach the fair maiden. A soft wintery wind howled between the trees around him, bits of snowflakes danced in the tangles of his dreads whilst he manoeuvred his way towards the pale zebra. Each step closer, Mairon would watch her actions, thinking she was harmless really and much smaller than he. Although she appeared to be normal to him, the zebra mare gave him an odd sensation, a sensation of something that didn’t feel quite right to him. As he was just a few steps away from her, he came to a halt, assuming that the mare had noticed his approach by now. Mairon cleared his throat for a few seconds, now hoping to make it more obvious that he was here, “hello?” his tone was quivering a little but still had a rather large amount of force behind his words. His chestnut eyes darted from side to side whilst he waited for a reply. Edited by SUKi, May 24 2013, 09:23 PM.

WELL SWEET MOTHER TERESA ON THE HOOD OF A MERCEDES BENZ
|
THRESH tell me would you kill, to save her life His appaloosa form rested in one of the meadows the common grounds offer, save it was not at all like the picturesque connotation. The wild flowers have long since died with summer, and the long grasses, usually relaxing if a little ticklish on an equine’s legs and stomach, have hardened with the morning frost and jab threateningly when he gets in their way. It is his first time here. Recently he has claimed Escadus, a job that seemed easily done. The old owner’s scent was faint and barely present, and any mares he might have had all but disappeared. The weather there isn’t fantastic, but it is an attractive place to live, and there are places to shelter. More importantly, it is away from everything he knows. Thresh has no intentions of being part of his old family. His sire did not live up to his expectations, and as far as he is concerned his mother has nothing to do with him. The homeless grounds are quiet. He isn’t surprised. It is the middle of winter, and mares would be foolish to look for a home this time of year. Thresh has come here more out of boredom than legitimately looking for potential herdmates, so when he catches the smell of a female on the dying breeze he is genuinely surprised. The red dun appaloosa slinks through the meadow, his winter hair darkening the red in his coat to give him an auburn effect as he slides into a trot. Her scent takes him into woodland, and his muscular neck arches as he picks up his hooves higher to avoid any upturned tree roots. His head snakes round as he hears the snapping of wood underfoot, and without even thinking his body changes direction towards the sound. He is young and athletic, his body not quite fully muscled out, but it is clear he will be formidable when he hits his prime. He sees the albino first. Thresh pauses, he has never seen a zebra, only heard about them. It takes him another moment to realise this is the mare he has been following, but it goes a little further than her just appearing different. Her eyes were an unnatural colour, and by the way she carries herself, including the useless appearance of her ears by the way they move, the way she breathes straight through her nose without taking any of the signs and smells in, he roughly guesses there is something wrong with her. He glances up to see two other stallions both approaching as well. One tries speaking, whilst the other is silent. Evading rolling his eyes for the moment, the appaloosa snorts, not only at the other two for their complete lack of tact, but for the mare as well. Obviously Thresh has no idea whether or not she would pick it up at all, but it is worth a try. |

Imagine stand in the rain, stand your ground, stand up when it's all crashing down ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Imagine watched her breath puff out of her nostrils to take her mind off of anxiety. Her heart was beating faster as the reality that she was about to begin an entirely different life really sank in. Most likely, she was going to live with horses. The lies that she had been told still clung onto the back of her mind, subconsciously, even though she had walked away from those lies. Puff...puff...puff... Imagine continued to watch her breath collect in the air and then fall to the ground. She tried not to think of the things she wished she could have. It was unhealthy, she knew. But many times, she just kept wondering what color besides gray, black, and white was like. Or what things smelled like - how wonderful it must be. Or to hear. Or to not be afraid to look up at the sky. Or change. Imagine paused when she felt a faint vibration on her large, disc-shaped ears. Had someone approached and said something? Imagine turned a full 180 degrees before she finally set her gaze on a stallion. She lowered her head to see if his lips were moving - nothing. Oh dear, she had missed what he had said. Imagine lifted her head back up and smiled at him, wondering what to do now. Before Imagine could do anything, she saw another stallion approach. She lowered her head again and watched his lips carefully for a moment, but then realized that he was not intending to say anything. She lifted her head again, oblivious to Thresh's presence. What had the first stallion said? It seemed short, since she turned around quickly and since the vibration she had felt did not seem like much. The stallion had probably said his name or land, or a simple greeting. An introduction seemed more likely. So she had missed his name and land. That did not matter too much. She would not be able to figure out the strange pronunciation of his name or land anyway, probably. She knew little about the Kormadian lands, and names had always been a struggle for her to grasp ever since she went deaf. Imagine glanced to the side and, out of her keen peripheral vision, caught sight of Thresh. She turned quickly and stared at him for a moment before bowing her head in an apology for not noticing him sooner. She had no idea if he had just come, or if he had been there for longer. She might as well be safe and apologize. Whatever Thresh had said, she had missed it, too. The zebra had remained silent and staring for a good long while, now. Imagine knew she had to do something... or nothing at all. Maybe silence would provoke them to talk more or repeat anything said. Imagine looked at each of them with a curious and friendly expression, hoping that they would get the clue. |

ooc: I've had some time to think about who's approached her, and I've decided who would be best for her. She's going to go with Mairon. Thanks for posting, everyone! <3 | ||||
