"fate looks sharp,
severs all my ties and breaks whatever doesn't bend."

Kali stands among the coastal trees, seeming frozen by her musings.

A cool breeze creeps lazily over the sandy ground, snaking up the mare’s slender leg and coiling through the amber-tipped tresses that curtain her blue eyes. Her stance is one of neither caution nor relaxation, but hangs on the edge of detachment, with hooves squared and fluted ears erect. The painted maiden almost appears as if she is searching for someone as her sapphire gaze fixes resolutely on the landscape that stretches before her, but there is something not quite right; something missing. Kali’s eyes, though as clear as a mountain stream after a cleansing rain, are stripped of purpose. Even with pure azure irises, their depths have no vitality—that is, there is no depth; only a flat, listless surface remains of what was once full of intense emotion.

Woodenly, as if gravity’s sole purpose is to keep her imprisoned in an immovable coffin, Kali extends a foreleg to begin her slow forward crawl. Mismatched hooves cut fresh lines in the fine grains of sand, the swaying fan-shaped leaves of the foliage throwing mottled shadows across the blue mare’s figure as she winds her way unhurriedly through their skeletal trunks.

Now a ripe sixteen years of age, Kali is certainly not the young, spritely filly that she had once been. She does not come to this land in search of a new adventure or the freedom that many young individuals crave—she has already experienced such ventures. Rather, she returns with an intellect that has been altered over and over again with the years that have passed. Even so, time has seemed to preserve the mare’s body into an agile, elegant stature. Muscles that have once suffered from malnourishment are now hardened to their former strength, creating a pretty figure of feminine athleticism as the grace of her Arabian ancestors soften the delicate lines of her face. The only sign of her age and the single child born is the slight dip in her hips, though they can hardly be noticed in comparison to the monotony that dulls her eyes. Even Kali’s blue roan hide is now sleek with health as it glistens quietly beneath the bright light as she breaks the thin line of trees, her march coming to a halt as her cobalt eyes pierce the vast body of water.

Salty breezes caress the aged mare as she stares. You are ready, darling, it’ll be alright. The warm tones of Audrey’s voice reverberate in Kali’s thoughts, her encouragement echoed by the presence of Justin. A deep breath is inhaled as it rolls over her willowy shoulders. The painted maiden wants to believe them, tries to believe them; it has been nearly three years since she has last seen Cylus, and Kestrel know how long before then. Something tells her that he is gone, and that she will never see him again. It has taken her a long time to get to the point where she is now, where she can feel like she can lead a normal life again—though happiness still remains a dark anonymity.

Another repressed sigh.

Impassively Kali waits for her life to take yet another turn, amber-tipped strands beating in a slow rhythm against her hocks as she stands in the mercy of Prime’s light.

It's not much of a life you're living
It's not just something you take, it's given

Théoden slowly walked away from the tree line. His exhausted body moved slowly through the homeless grounds. There was little, almost nothing on the stallion’s mind, other than finding a suitable mare for his newly claimed territory. Bracken Bracken was a territory that the stallion liked a lot; it was located in the Northern Mainland and the largest mountains of Kormada were located in his territory at least that was what he had heard. Théoden was also very proud that he had won the battled for the territory, not only did it make him feel like he had accomplished something but it also made him believe that he would be able to protect his herd from others that could not be trusted. A smile crossed the stallion’s lips as he kept on walking.

The sixteen hand stallion was lucky that Exseus hadn’t caused more damage to his body than a cut from his shoulder to his barrel and probably some fractured ribs close to his spine. The blue eyed stallion would survive this and this would probably not cause him any discomfort in the future. He looks slowly around and soon a blue roan overo mare is brought to his vision. It was a pretty mare and she looked like a nice mare. Without a hesitation the dunskin overo stallion starts walking towards the mare. He had talked to few mares in the homeless but had never made a long conversation out of it, only small talk. He was hoping that he would be able to have a good conversation with this mare.

Théoden comes to a halt in front of the mare and smiles politely before starting to speak. “My name is Théoden and I have recently won claim overo Bracken Bracken, located in the Northern Mainland” he says and looks at the mare. She was smaller than him but the height difference wasn’t a problem for him, it was barely a difference. He wants to ask the mare for her name but he is convinced that she would tell him his name without him asking for it. At least he hoped that she would. Théoden slowly looks around at the landscape, the place was a bit worn off, there were few places where no grass was, only dirt. But the homeless grounds probably contained more various landscapes than he had in his own territory.

Mairon stands at the edge of the homeless grounds once again, now that his small herd has managed to settle down in Imperial Point after a short meeting of ceremonial introductions, watching the mares exchange short conversation starters which were a good sign thought Mairon. There seemed to have been no negative intensity between either of the mares, from what he could tell for now anyway. The newest mare to arrive within the herd was Luthien, a mare that was well reserved although politeness radiated through her which Mairon took a liking to yet in the back of his mind, a worrying feeling was eating away at him but the poor stallion couldn’t quite figure it out yet, he came to conclusions about Luthien not liking Imperial Point and wanting to leave but the dappled buckskin stallion couldn’t see that in her nature without supporting her absence with a reasonable statement. Then his thoughts moved from Luthien to Cybil, who was yet to arrive in Imperial Point, but Mairon hasn’t seen the ghostly mare since he claimed her at the homeless grounds. His lips curled distastefully at the thought of Cybil being viciously attacked or found another claimer. Of course, his bitter thoughts put a downpour on his recent moods and thought coming here would be a good decision to replace Cybil.

A heavy and deep sigh withdrew from his parted murky lips in the function of tredding along the grounds in the homeless. It was much different scenery to last time he was here considering it was now spring and the chilly cold season: winter was now well over. The earth’s greenery and soil appeared to be most underneath his heavy hooves as he worked his way over the grounds. His dark chocolate eyes observed the land’s new scenery, seeing flowers with colours of all different sorts, even some colours which he thought never existed did exist here, they were rather vivid and eye catching. He couldn’t imagine a mare being depressed in a land like this besides the testosterone filled studs that cockily pranced about.

The dappled buckskin appeared to be withdrawn from his surroundings and failed to notice a pair of equines looking to be speaking with one another. From the distance Mairon was now standing at, he could easily differentiate the genders. The mare looked as though she was watching the last bits of the sun’s warming rays upon her rather ragged and worn down frame, coloured with an odd splash of grey hues, whites and tints of blue behind the grey hues. Then the other was expectantly a stallion with almost the same markings as she but much different colours, looking as if he was trying to catch her attention.

Drawn to the mare’s simple magnificence, Mairon decisively began walking towards the pair, embracing his strong and bulky neck in towards his walloping chest although he didn’t want to seem too proud of his looks, the stallion managed to embrace his composed and fervent exterior which he assumed would be appealing to a mare, but he could be wrong.

Determined was just one word to describe Mairon at this current moment, there were many others but determination seemed to fit best.

A cool yet salty breeze draft swept over the stallion whilst he came to a quiet halting position, placing himself just on the offside left from the stallion, facing towards the attractive mare. His dark murky lips creased at the sides with a half hearted grin whilst he offered her a friendly nod before doing the same action towards the other stallion. Mairon wasn’t completely sure if either one of them were planning to speak so he huskily cleared his throat considering he hadn’t spoken to anyone in a few days, before speaking. “Isn’t a pleasant evening, fine lady?” a tone that was melodious yet contributed a rather masculine tone as well. Switching glances between the fine mare and stallion, he spoke again “I’m Mairon” he held his eyes upon both equines whilst he introduced himself quite dully, now, he didn't ask to know the names of the pair since he had assumed they'd introduce themselves unless they wanted to remain nameless the whole meeting, Mairon shouldn't have to ask the names of others, it's a simple courtesy. But for now the buckskin settled once more to be quiet.

THAMES
a leopard cannot change its spots
The brindled Arabian wandered the worn paths of the Homeless. His bright blue eyes took notes on some of the mares that he passed, some with many suitors, others with few. He merely acknowledged them with a respectful nod of his dove gray face and walked onward. He had five mares now, one having just returned, and another that had not been seen in years. His eldest son, Judah, was of age and residing in Cleric's Realm, and, while he was glad his son had become a good stallion, the brindle couldn't help but feel like he had failed the younger brindle in some way. The rose riddled male shook his head to himself, ribs heaving with a single sigh.

The Arabian reminded himself that he was here to try for another mare, and his bright eyes wandered anew, committed to find another member for his herd. As he walks, a flash of blue catches his eye. Thames comes to an easy stop and looks again. Not far from him, there was a mare. Her coat was flashy, a shade of blue with roaning apparent splashed in a frame overo pattern. There is a painted stallion before her, splashed in buckskin. Another buckskin male stands near her as well. The brindle rolls his shoulders in a horse-like shrug before he, too, approaches. Having not been far from the trio, the Arabian Hybrid catches the names of the stallions: Théoden and Mairon. The gray comes to a stop near the trio, to the paint's right. He flashes a genuine smile before nodding to everyone respectfully. "Hello, sirs and lady. My name is Thames." His gray ears rotate forward and about, hoping he hadn't been forward in approaching them, not wanting to overwhelm the maiden.

Where the points don't matter!

Honey colored eyes looked about the brindled stallion, his grulla coat shining in Prime's bright rays. The handsome stallion was getting up in his years, though his body was showing little signs of ageing. At the age of ten Exodus felt that he had at least another few years ahead of him before he turned his home over to his son. His grulla coat was riddled with light brindle along his barrel, rump, and lightly on his neck. His mane was a jet black, and his forelock hangs down in his eyes, hiding expressive honey colored eyes. His tail is frosted, though fades quickly into the same ebony color of his mane. Muscles wrapped around the stallion's 15 hand frame, and he is hardy, thanks to his abundant mustang heritage. He was ruggedly handsome on the outside, and had a polite, but reserved personality.

He was quiet these days, his love had disappeared inside his vast territory, and he feared for her. Nizhoni, his other mare, hadn't been around much either, and neither seemed to want to approach them. His daughter was off in the gathering, wanting to go out by herself, and he was a bit worried about the filly. She was so bubbly, rambunctious, and it was infectious. She was growing up quickly, and Exodus knew she would have to come to this place herself eventually, how ever much he disliked the idea. He knew his son, Dallin, would be sad to see her go, having been by each other's sides since he could remember. The two might be mistaken for twin, both being painted. Azania, on the other hand, took after her mother, though did tend to stay near her father or sister.

He shook his head, abruptly clearing thoughts out of his head. He wasn't hereto muse over things that he had gone over thousands of times at home. He was here for mares, hopefully to once again populate his land. The arrival of new herd mates might bring Carpi out of hiding again. He started forward, honey eyes searching the landscape for suitable mares. His eyes then fell on a mare, three other stallion's grouped around her. He pricked his ears towards her. His eyes went over her quickly, accessing her. She was a beautiful mare, dainty, feminine, and very healthy, age had no effects on the mare.

The stallion easily trots over to the small group, and situating himself by another brindle. The other male is almost the opposite of the grulla's color, though more heavily marked. His dark lips formed a smile, and he dipped his head respectfully to the mare when she chose to acknowledge him. Like the others beside him he started his own little introduction. "Hello miss, my name is Exodus, may I know yours?" He asked, unsure if the others had asked for it, or if she had given if numerous amount of times. His attention stayed focused on mostly the mare, though let his gaze slide over the other stallions, not grudgingly, but just to see who was there. He knew none, and returned his warm gaze to the mares pale eyes.

The salty water licked away the crusted blood from the fight that the stallion had lost. A looser, that's what he was. Nothing more, but everything less. His dark brown eyes indicated nights lost of sleep and rest. He had been wandering from territories asking for the position as beta. It had been five days of traveling until finally, he seemed to find a stallion with hope in him. It didn't surprise Exseus that no stallion wanted a beta that looked like he'd lost a war, but what did surprise him was that Straka, the leader of the land, had said yes to Exseus.

Salt dried onto his painted coat when the cool winds of spring flowed around him. Exseus shook, most of the debris caught in the wind and was carried along, but the remainder sparkled in Primes light. He raised his head to survey the land for any eye catching mares. His eyes stopped on a gorgeous looking mare. Many stallions gathered around her, including the one that Exseus had fought. A smirk rose to Exseus' lips as he lunged at the opportunity. He walked up after two new stallions joined and introduced himself, "I am Exseus, beta to Tiger's Pool, it's lovely meeting you, milady." His deep voice beckoned softly out to her, and after he was done, he bowed and joined himself into the ring of stallions that circled her. His ebony eyes longed to hear her speak to him, he stood with his eyes fastened on her own pale eyes. She was such a cute mare. A smile crept onto his lips as he cast a glace around the ring of stallions. There was very good competition, could he win her over?

"fate looks sharp,

Cougar.

That is the first word that jumps into the mare’s mind when she notices the first young stallion approaching her. A small smile attempts to curl the corners of her dark lips with the thought, and she even allows the slightest chuckle to rumble at the base of her chest. It’s not often anymore when Kali finds herself humored, and so she takes time in enjoying those rare bursts of release. Even so, the idea of being claimed and residing with a stallion that is much younger than her son does not disgust the painted roan maiden—it’s not as though she is searching for a mate romantically, after all. Love is a lost, unpromising cause to Kali by now, for even though she has healed in the years since Cylus’ final disappearance, she knows that her heart will never be the same.

The blue mare’s pretty features slip back into a neutral expression as the handsome overo stallion comes to a finishing halt facing her, her aura exuding an impassive, though not unfriendly, manner. One fluted ear rotates in his direction as he introduces himself and his accomplishment. Woo hoo, someone has finally reached manhood. Justin’s deep voice growls through her mind, his tone hardly civil in its sarcasm. Kali cannot hide the brief spark of amusement that flashes across her blue eyes, though she keeps her snarky comments to herself. “Congratulations, Théoden, I’m sure your victory was a well-earned one.” She acknowledges him with a faint inclination of her dainty head, though her own introduction is cut short by the appearance of another stallion. The second does not posses a flashy coat like Théoden, but he is no less handsome with his strong build and the impression of masculinity that follows him.

“It is.” Kali responds mildly to his initial question, her gaze drifting to the ocean that stretches out before her, admiring the way Prime’s light reflects off of the roiling, glassy surface. While the landscape is exceptional, the mare cannot honestly admit that she would consider this moment a “pleasant” one—she is in the place of the lost-hearted, after all. Drawing her attention from the scenery and back to the stallions, the roaned maiden looks to the draft as he introduces himself as Marion. Kali offers a fleeting, calm grin that tickles her dark lips to recognize his introduction, though she remains silent as her attention shifts to a third approaching stallion. He has strange coat pattern, one that she has not seen much of before, though it has a striking appearance in its uniqueness. He reveals himself as Thames, giving them all a polite inclination of his head in greeting, which the mare returns with a little nod of her own.

Broadening her attention to the trio of stallions, the blue mare finally introduces herself. “A pleasure boys, I’m sure—” she cannot keep the dryness from her voice as the cliché phrase slips from her tongue, “—my name is Kali.” Not even a minute passes before the sound of hoof beats, muted by the fine beach sand, reaches the small gathering. The painted mare closes her eyes in a long blink before she focuses on the stallion as he comes to a halt alongside Thames, which made one side of her blue brow rise in mild amusement. He—or Exodus, as he introduces himself—is very similar to Thames in color, both possessing a brindle pattern and both sure to catch an eye.

Kali parts her lips to respond to Exodus’ inquiry of her name, but she is silenced as she notices another stallion emerging from the water to approach. Deciding that she doesn’t want to waste breath, she waits for the grullo tovero to approach and introduce himself as Exseus. Beta? Awesome, someone with authority. The blue maiden continues to ignore Justin’s cynicism, knowing that she is not seeking for power herself. Instead she casts a brief glance around her and, not seeing any other stallions wishing to court her, directs her attention to Exodus and Exseus, who have yet to know her name. “I am Kali.” It is odd for her, to have such a short introduction, but what else could she add? Homeless and alone, that is what the blue mare is here to remedy.

Inhaling a deep breath that rolls her slender shoulders, her sapphire eyes take in the five stallions that stand before her. Kali is flattered, to be honest—she hadn’t expected to receive so much attention, considering the ripe age that she is. Even so, knowing that she must get down to business, she gives each stallion a glance in turn. “It might be obvious that I am no novice to this game, so let’s get straight to the point, shall we? I know you don’t want to stay here any longer than I do. Why don’t you each begin by telling me about yourselves, your expectations, and the lives you lead in your respective homes?” The overo mare begins with the simple questions, as she figures it will be easy enough to weed out the stallions that truly are worth her time and those who are not. Her voice is not harsh, but nor is it sweet and gentle like most would expect an aged mare’s to be—hers is simply one of confident anticipation. It is clear that she wants to be rid of this land as soon as she can, and Kali isn’t going to waste any time in getting what she wants.

It's not much of a life you're living
It's not just something you take, it's given

The dunskin overo smiles when the mare congratulates the stallion and he nods gently. Like the stallion was expecting they weren’t going to be a lone. It was a beautiful mare and it would be very optimistic of him to hope that he would be alone when talking to her. The dapple buckskin stallion began to talk, directing his words towards the mare. His words were a statement yet a question. The blue roan frame overo mare replied with few words. Théoden greets the dapple buckskin stallion by nodding politely to him. Even though the dunskin was a competitive stallion it always paid off to show manners so that was what he was going to do.

Shortly after Marion had spoken his name another stallion joined the trio. His coat color was a unique on, at least Théoden hadn’t been aware of this patter often. The brindle stallion greets the stallions and the mares and then introduces himself as Thames. Again Théoden greets the stallion by nodding to him. Three stallions had now approached the mare and it would be a nice conversation. Too many stallions and it could get a bit crowded, this was a nice amount of stallions around one mare. The blue eyed paint horse hopes that they can soon start talking together.

The roan mare starts talking but then stops for a moment. Théoden looks over at the mare and she continues talking. If the stallion heard right the mare was not continuing her previous sentences, the mare instead introduced herself as Kali. His calm gaze is held on the mare as he speaks. “Pleasure to meet you Kali” he says with his soothing voice. The stallion’s ears rotated when he hears the sound of hoof beat coming closer to the trio. Soon another brindle stallion approached the mare, which made it four stallions around one mare. Théoden was hoping that he could stop in quickly here and then head home, however this seemed like it would take a little longer.

Kali doesn’t tell Exodus her name and Théoden looks around and notices an equine coming towards the group. And this isn’t any equine, this is Exseus, the stallion Théoden had just won. The paint horse felt very proud of himself and maybe if he would feel like he could rub it into Exseus’s face how wonderful his resting in Bracken Bracken had been so far. Though he might let it go seeing as he was here for the mare, not to make Exseus jealous. Exseus comes closer and introduces himself and then says that he is a beta in Tiger’s Pool. A smirk crosses the dunskin’s lips and he looks over at Exseus.

The blue roan mare starts speaking asking if they shouldn’t go straight to the point. Théoden nods and prepares himself to answer any questions the mare would ask. Kali brings forth a question and since Théoden approached first he assumes that he should be the first one to speak. “As I told you earlier I recently won the claim for Bracken Bracken” he says and his gaze quickly turns towards Exseus but is then directed towards the mare. “I don’t have any mares living there so far but I hope to have three or four mares living with me there by the end of the year” he says and smiles charmingly to the mare. Théoden wasn’t a collector and wasn’t a stallion that would collect mares, he just wanted to meet three or four mares and bring them home and then he wouldn’t have to worry about finding more mares; four mares would be enough to bring joy to t

Mairon couldn’t help himself but be dazed towards the painted mare, standing there in all her exquisiteness as she had both stallions’ wanting to place their claim upon her and yet she had all the power of the order. How the pecking order worked in the homeless grounds perplexed the handsome stud; mares had more power here over the stallions prancing around, but it did seem fair to Mairon. Mairon, the other stallion and the mare all stood in their silence until the painted maiden spoke towards the painted stallion; they were slightly different in colour. Mairon took note on how chuffed the young stallion looked as the mare congratulated him on something Mairon wasn’t sure of. His dark chocolate eyes observed the painted mare’s eyes, hoping not to seem too eager to get her attention, he intended on hoping she would view this as eye contact, which is polite. Finally, her eyes set on him and at that exact moment, Mairon’s bronzed left ear rotated in the mare’s direction whilst she spoke so quickly and mildly. At first, Mairon was unsure if the mare didn’t appreciate his compliments, but like always, they play ‘hard to get’ within the homeless grounds which is always an interesting game. Although the painted maiden looks away out into the field, Mairon watches onwards to see the sun rays reflecting off her coat, such a pleasant sight, Mairon thought.

No surprise, in only a matter of time a few more stallions had arrived for the mare, Mairon had expected this now since he has ventured here quite a lot. To add to the small group of the three, it was now six with this one mare. At first, the bronzed buckskin stud wanted to back down and let the mare have her space but from what Mairon could tell, she didn’t mind all that much. Out of the three stallions that had recently arrived, the first looked to have Arabian blood in their family, he was a rose grey with some unsystematic flecks of grey and he was slightly smaller in height. The second to arrive looked to be another paint but Mairon wasn’t sure since the odd brindling in his coat and appeared to be more focus on the painted maiden like she was a trophy which of course disgruntled Mairon slightly. The last stallion to arrive was paint, almost the same coat as the oddly brindled one was although this one looked ragged, recent wounds imprinted on his flesh which would only mean he must have been in some type of battle before here. His dark chocolate eyes kept a close watch on this one; he felt a slight tension in the air looming around.

A gentle breeze swept through Mairon’s thinning coat, a rather pleasant relief sense fell over the stallion’s mood, instantly rubbing away that uneasy feeling before. After all three of the stallions had been done with their introductions, a few minutes had passed by and during those few minutes Mairon serenely listened to the waves gently crashing onto the shoreline from a far distance and distinctively coloured birds flying up above, appearing to be circling some type of prey on land. At the tone of the mare’s rusty tone, Mairon’s bronzed ears rotated in her direction, listening intently on what she had to say and finally introducing herself as Kali. Kali appeared to be nervous, as he noticed in her broken speech and needless to say, Mairon felt some sort of empathy for her.

Neither of the stallions had spoke a word yet and Mairon wasn’t quite sure if he was to speak up incase Kali intended to say more. Whilst Kali took a few moments to herself, Mairon outstretched his neck and head to see who was standing around, by the looks of it; no one appeared to be familiar to him. His neck pulled in his head and dazed upon Kali whilst she quickly assumed that none of wanted to be here that long. For Mairon, this was true, his murky black lips curled at the sides agreeing with her statement and she asked to know of their homes, expectations and lives. It wasn’t hard for the stallion to think about Imperial Point and how joyful it had been for him and the mares and he was sure that Kali would be a nice companion for all.

Of course, the buckskin stallion wasn’t first to arrived and he dazed his dark chocolate eyes over the painted stallion, which he had stood next to, named Theoden. His tone was gentle towards Kali as he spoke of a newly claimed land; Bracken Bracken and how he has no mares as of yet. Mairon knew that feeling all too well but now wasn’t the time for sympathy. The buckskin stallion assumed Kali had wanted to hear the entire stallion’s speak before she could make a decision and at that current thought, Mairon huskily cleared his dry throat before he spoke.

“Like any other stallion or most around here, in Imperial Point I can offer you my protection and devotion.. What most stallions around here don’t know how to offer is would you say harmony and bliss? Ah yes! The words I was looking for. I can assure you Kali, I offer them. Imperial Point is a medium sized land, a rather large mountain planted in the middle although it does have its advantages and to be honest, I don’t think I’ve seen the grass so superb before!” Mairon spoke in a tone that was powered by contentment yet formal, he paused for a few minutes to gather himself again and took a sigh before speaking again. “My mares Luthien, Cybil, Sabina and Lenore all seem to be rather content within Imperial Point, all such lovely souls, but we wouldn’t mind another edition for our small herd. Lastly, expectations. I don’t have much, except I do expect respect like any other equine would and honesty, dear Kali.” The bronzed stallion thought it was better if he stopped rambling on, hoping Kali wouldn’t go into a brain nap by now. Mairon was rather pleased on how he spoke of Imperial Point, making it sound appealing for Kali.

The brindled Arab looked to the two stallions who had joined the group after himself: a brindled grullo and a paint of sorts. He nods to both of them in greeting, aiming to be respectful. He, then turns to the stallions who had joined before him, Théoden and Mairon. Both of the males seem pleasant enough, so Thames nods to them as well. His blue gaze settles on the mare when she speaks. Oh how pretty she was. Thames wasn't superficial, but he couldn't help but look upon her. She was beautiful. Kali. It suited her. She was very cut and dry, getting straight to the point instead of messing around and flirting. The brindle appreciated this and waited for the stallions before him to speak. It was only polite to take turns.

Théoden spoke of how he had won claim over a land called Bracken Bracken. Thames knew little of the land, but he would have congratulated the stallion if he could have. The brindle himself had not had to fight for his land or mares, which he rather liked. Thames wasn't the sort who liked to fight or do battle. He preferred peace and smooth change. Then it was Mairon who spoke. It would hard to out-do the buckskin, but Thames wasn't the competing sort. If she wanted to be with any other stallion, Thames wouldn't protest. He would be sorry for missing the opportunity of a life with her, but he never held grudges. That wasn't him. The rose riddled stallion rose from his thoughts when Mairon stopped speaking. He let a pause rise, allowing Kali to keep track of what the stallions before had said. "I may not speak quite as well as Mairon, - he chuckled - "but I hope what I say appeals to you. I live in Holy Track; it is a pretty land up in the mountains a ways. There are many fields, some woods, and there is a lake. It is sheltered enough from the winter for it not to be unbearable, but, through the rest of the year, Holy Track is the most beautiful land I've seen."

Thames pauses again for a moment, trying not to drone on. "I have five mares living with me. Zelda has just returned from a visit to relatives; Kitra I cannot say where she is, and that pains me a great deal. We all get along marvelously, and all I ever strive for is peace, happiness and pleasant times. As for expectations, like Mairon, I merely desire respect, loyalty, and honesty. I try to make anyone as happy as possible, and I would call myself a good leader. But everyone has their opinions." The brindle comes to a stop, nodding to signal the end of his talk. Thames closed his eyes for a moment before looking at Kali, lips upturned in a pleasant smile before Théoden would speak. Thames was a genuine soul; he wanted nothing more than to make his mares happy and be a good father. Since their mothers had been gone, he felt that he was failing his sons, but Thames was trying his hardest. And he would never give any less.

Where the points don't matter!
Exodus vaguely watched the other stallions around him as he waited for the mare's answer. None but the rose grey brindle beside him seemed to notice him, and when he nods Exodus quickly nods back, giving a slight smile as well. He saw no need to be rude here. However while he had looked away from the mare for a moment another stallion had taken his place beside the grullo. Exodus flicked an ear towards him, his eyes quickly scanning over him while he give him a small dip of his head. He was littered with wounds from a fight. He introduces himself as Exsues and goes on to say his land. Exodus's attention now turns to the mare, and smiled slightly as she finally spoke. "That's a lovely name." He sated simply, then fell silent as she took a breath. He watched her, his warm honey eyes respectfully on her, and his body language relaxed, though not arrogant. He didn't view her as a trophy, opposite in fact. She was an equal, with opinions and feelings, though they had different roles on here's life, and life itself. That's how the stallion saw things, and how he had raid his offspring. He hoped she would see this, and would not be put off.

His attention returned to her when she started to speak, and he nodded his head. It made sense, and he rather liked the way she did things. He noted her tone, she was sure of herself when she said this, and he agreed with her when she said she wanted to get out of here quick. The homeless grounds had always been a place the grullo had tried to avoid, and his slightly empty lands showed that. He hadn't been the first to show so he waited his turn patiently, cocking a back foot as he did, and turning his head to view the speaker. The first was short, the second one long, and a bit arrogant. At this exodus let a small smile to his lips, nothing wrong with a bit of pride, and the buckskin stallion knew how to talk. The brindle spoke next, and a slight surprised look came over Exodus's face. This stallion was his neighbor. He let another small smile come, tugging only at one side of his lips as most his smiles went.

The rose grey fell silent and Exodus straightened himself and faced the mare. "I live in Grizzly Heights, and I am actually a neighbor to-" He pause, realized he did not know the stallions name. He chuckled quietly and went on. "This gentleman-I'm afraid i don't know his name. But, anyways, Grizzly Heights is mostly Pine forest on the side of a mountain. It's lovely all year round, thou can be treacherous in winter if your not careful. There are small meadows, and plenty of streams throughout. I currently have two mares, and several foals. Like most everyone else here, it seems, I have values. Respect me and I will respect you, protect you, and provide for you. I do not view mares a inferior, rather as equals." He fell silent, realizing she might be growing bored. He left it at that, and turned his head towards the paint beside him.
