| Even in the deadest of seasons the Weeping Towers still managed to look beautiful. Prime had risen onto an azure canvas, without a single cloud blocking the sky. Still, its pristine look was false, for it was still a cold day, and frost had settled on the landscape around the towers. The tree’s branches almost looked icy blue in the light with the frost settled on them, and the grass a pale colour. The two towers themselves looked hard and unforgiving in the light, a blue tinge settling on the ancient stone. Still, it was not cold enough to freeze the river running through the land, by the sounds of it, and Perseus betted that it would take one very cold winter to complete such a feat. However, he didn’t fancy swimming through it today – he had not been near the river except to drink from it. If his newest resident wanted a tour of the whole territory, she would have to wait until it was warmer.
His herd had been quietly settled, now he had the addition of Iridescent, he could call having two mares a herd. But now it was three. He had gone to the common grounds on a whim, merely on the off-chance there might be a mare of interest to him there, and to get a change of scenery, and behold he had found one. She was a pretty painted mare – it seemed that Perseus’ loud coat attracted mares of a similar marking. Her name was Lyka, and the buckskin splash was expecting her any day now. He was excited to get to know her a bit better, since she had agreed to go with him based on what she could see, and not on personality like in the homeless. He hoped the other mares might come and greet their new herdmate as well as each other. Splash was always scarce, and she hadn’t met anyone yet.
He lingered by the border, his well-muscled form winding through trees as he scanned his vision for the black paint. Occaisionally he stole a mouthful of cold grass as he paced, but he was primarily on the look out for his new mare. First impressions were everything in this world and Perseus hoped that by being ready at the borderline to pick her up and show her as much of the Weeping Towers as she wanted to see. A small sigh exhaled from his rosy muzzle as he waited for her to arrive.

Lyka Image
Lyka approached The Weeping Towers - her new home. And she was shocked, it was like nothing she'd ever seen before. It was gorgeous, and such a scene. Breathtaking. The mare couldn't help but stop and stare for a moment, getting over the surprise of such a pretty land. Lyka just looked around - the clear, piercing sky unusual in such a wintry scene. The frost didn't bother the mare, and it made the scene even more unreal. Lyka continued to walk, ever so slowly, taking in the picture around her.
Lyka's heart leaped when she spotted the stallion whom she'd chosen. She whinnied out to him, before calling his name "Perseus!" Lyka wasn't sure as to why she called out to him, but her voice was soft but confident. She picked up speed, and trotted over to him. She was beyond happy to see the stallion, hopeful to settle in immediately.

| He continued to weave his way through the trees at a fast paced walk, his coat appearing a warm buttery colour in comparison to the frosty trees. Perseus was a carbon copy of his grandfather, thanks to his dam. His base coat was golden buckskin, but it was laced and splashed with large patches of white, on one side particularly. The other half of his body was less decorative, but a few spots of alabaster remained. Framed with an ebony mane and tail, and extraordinary blue eyes, it was no wonder that mares flocked to him. He had been the pride of his mother’s eye, especially as his two younger sisters were almost drab coloured in comparison. Still, the young stallion lacked any arrogance his dam portrayed. He was grateful that the Gods had coloured him so beautifully, but he hoped the three mares he had claimed saw more to him than a handsome face and a vibrant coat.
Both ears were alert and rotating as he moved, eager to locate Lyka as soon as possible. He estimated that today would be the day she arrived, if she allowed herself time to rest on the journey and kept up a reasonable pace. Weeping Towers was exceptionally quiet that morning. Perseus knew that his first mare, Splash, usually kept to herself. He felt a little fearful that she might take off and leave him once more, but her constant scent in the land reassured him. He could also smell his son on the breeze, which meant he had not left home yet. The painted stallion was still sorrowful that he had missed most of Creon’s childhood, but it was not his fault. He had no control over the painted mare and where she went, despite feverish attempts of trying to find her. Perseus only hoped there was some time before his son left to repair that relationship between father and son.
A whinny pulled him back to his senses and his golden head shot up, glancing round for where it had come from. It didn’t sound like either of the two resident mares, which meant it had to be the black painted mare he had recently claimed. He wheeled round on his hindquarters, the muscles tensed beneath the ivory and buttermilk skin as he turned on the spot to find Lyka trotting towards him. Perseus’ lips pulled back in a joyful whinny of his own, his body skipping forwards a few strides before he setting down to a walk to meet her. He was so happy she had made it safely and another softer whicker was extracted from his chest as he reached her. “Hello Lyka.” He gave the mare a smile, reaching out to her own nose with his own to exchange breaths with her, as was custom.
Once he had reminded himself of her unique smell he pulled his head back, his bright blue eyes assessing her quickly. She looked healthy, and he was glad she had made it despite the cold winter they were having. “I hope you are well?” He asked her anyway, it was only polite. “Well, welcome to your new home! If you want me to show you around, I’d be more than happy to.” He grinned at her. “My other two mares are rather reclusive in the colder months, so they might be too far away to hear me call. It is a rather large area.” He said with a chuckle, waiting for her to reply.

Lyka Image
The mare saw the stallions head look up as she approached him. Lyka smiled at the whinny and whicker from the stallion, warming her. They exchanged breaths in the sharp spring air. He asked if she was well, and she replied stating the easy travel Perseus offered her a tour, and the mare smiled slightly. She listened to him before answering, as she learnt that there were two other mares - and that the land was rather large, too. "I would love a tour" Lyka replied after he had finished talking. The mare looked across the land that she could see for a moment, before turning to see where the stallion would lead her first.

| He had a good feeling about this mare. Like Iridescent, she was a mare from the Quick Claim, and unlike Splash, he had no idea of her former life or her personality. It was a gamble, but she seemed very pleasant and just as lovely as her pretty coat. The air was quite cold but fresh and refreshing as he exchanged breath with her, memorising her scent feminine scent along with the others he held close to him. Smells like that of his mother, his sisters and the mares he now held under his claim. His ears flicked forwards as she smiled at him, and gave her a bob of his head as she did ask for a tour. He didn’t mind giving a tour at all, he wanted his mares to have the best life and if they were happy and comfortable in their homes, he would feel like he had done the right job.
His blue eyes followed her gaze across the many trees before she looked back at him, presumably waiting for where they were going to go first. He had the perfect idea of where to take her. “Follow me then.” He said, his darkened legs turning away from the painted mare and with a nudge with his head he moved off through the trees. He moved quite slowly, making sure that Lyka was both keeping up with him and also looking out around her new surroundings. “I hope you had a good journey.” He said amiably, strolling along and his hindquarters sloped upwards as he began the gentle descent. He kept on going until he had reached where he wanted to be – by the side of the river.
Although the temperatures were warming, it was still too cold to get across the river, and a thin sheet of ice lay over it’s cool black surface. It was a substantial river, and across the pebbly beach on the other side, more trees lay and one of the great towers loomed in the distance. Coming to a halt, leaving one hindleg back behind him, the buckskin splash turned his white and wheaten head towards the mare, his face smiling. “Good view right?” From their spot, they could see both towers, the one further away on the other side of the river, and the great monument on their side, to the right, and towering above them. They certainly were not made by anything living in their time, and their cracks and weathered faces looked stormy against the blue sky. Perseus held his breath, hoping for a good reaction from Lyka.

Lyka Image
The painted mare felt like she had made the right decision with choosing the buckskin stallion in the Quick Claim. She hadn't much liked the idea of strolling around the homeless land waiting for a stallion or so to approach. And so she'd decided that Quick Claim was her next best option if she was to find a home before winter. The mare watched as the hybrid made even the slightest movements and acknowledgements when she simple smiled and then when she agreed to the tour. He flicked his ears and then bobbed his head, and she watched him contently. The paint horse sharpened her senses as she was ready to be shown around the territory. She took in what she could see right now, and the bitter autumn sun shone on both equines. The stallion turned on the mare and walked on, requesting she followed him. She pursed her lips silently and followed.
The mare looked around her, trees scattered around them. Colored autumn leaves hid the ground beneath them. The crunching of the crisp leaves under hoof filled the air around them. Lyka payed close attention to her surroundings. When Perseus spoke again, the mare looked at him - snapping out of the trance she was in from looking at the land around her. "Yes, it was good. Easy" She replied quietly, not sure what to say. They continued to walk, and the mares nostrils flared as she smelt something familiar. Water. She slowed before coming to a halt. Her lips perked into a smile as the view came to her sight. The stallion turned to her, and he asked for her view. "It's... breath-taking" The mare replied, sighing happily. It was magnificent. The view nothing like she had ever seen before.
