L U T H I E N i'm b u l l e t p r o o f .. nothing to lose ;; fire away ,, fire away you shoot me d o w n ,, but i won't fall .. i am T I T A N I U M ;; The blue roan mare is more than old enough to be on her own and, instead of taking the Rogue route as her predecessors had, Luthien decides to take the route which made the most sense to her. She's grown quite quiet and calculating over the course of time and, despite her youth, feels more than prepared to take her proper place in a proper herd. She has no expectations and even fewer hopes or ideas for the stallion who might try to sweep her off her hooves; in fact, she is simply going through the paces because that is what is expected at this point. She has nowhere to go and no-one to convince her to do so, so the next step ought to be to find a permanent home. She can't live with her grandmother forever and, obviously unwanted, she isn't one to harass her relatives if they don't want to be harassed by the four year old. She isn't ugly, far from it actually, but she'd never been one to take a compliment very well. An attractive and less common shade of true blue roan, she is flashy in her dark blue and black hues. She has a pretty stripe down her expressive face and two hind stockings, but no white markings otherwise. She is a true Mustang though not lacking Arab influence, her eyes large and expressive and her face line with lengthy tresses only an Arab could possess. She is elegant and almost seems to float at times, but her sturdy Mustang lineage keeps her firmly grounded no matter what her lightly hot blood believed. She is quiet, almost stoic, and it shows in the way she paces into this territory. She is full into her second heat and it annoys her, not wanting any stallions to come to her expecting children given her condition. She is more firmly in control than most young mares her age and has no desire to be a mother to any foal this season, or any in the near future at all as well. She simply needs to find a place before winter and secure her standpoint in whatever herd may accept her. She has no desire to lead though she would not be opposed to it, but then again she has no desire to daydream about love or fantasies regarding it. One might think she was depressed, but it simply wasn't so. Luthien is merely logical, straightforward, and lacking any real imagination since it had been drowned out of her when she was young. She'd been rejected and moved around, ignored and simply forgotten enough to feel of no more worth than such. Her grandmother and grandsire had been more than kind to her when she'd finally arrived at their borders, however. Affectionate and attentive, they had tried to make the Stream seem like home the best they could. Luthien could never shake the feeling that she wasn't passionately loved at any given time, however; then again, she hadn't exactly enabled them to do so. She flickers off to the right, her pretty black legs parking her squarely within a few trees for shade. It isn't hot today, not really warm even, but her winter coat is thick for the coming season due to her previous residence in the Loftlands. The Homeless territory lies on lower land and so is warmer, making it more than comfortable for the blue roan to situate herself within. She stands square, attentive, dark brown eyes looking out from beneath her ebony hued forelock at the comings and goings of the other horses and wondering when a stallion might notice her and approach. She just needed to get through this ordeal and then she could move on to start the rest of her life. So long as she stayed realistic and positive about the next step, she hoped things would move quickly. |

The dappled buckskin stallion was proud of himself, he hadn’t been this proud and estatic in long time when he thought about it. This was his first attempt at a herd and he’s doing a pretty good job, Mairon has dedicated all his time in the common grounds trying to claim any mare that catches his eye or would appreciate his company. So far, only two mares have taken up his offer of a claim; Sabina and Cybil. The two mares were just blessed souls, truly beauties he thought. Cybil had a dark vibe to her which didn’t bother Mairon, he’d deal with her if she caused any unnecessary trouble and as for Sabina, she was quite a layed back mare, Mairon loved this about her. Although he adored both mares, he promised himself before even claiming a land that there would be no favourites, he has seen that gone all wrong before resulting in the herd almost in a total collapse. Irritated by the current thoughts he was interrupted by a slightly weird colouration for an equine, one he hadn’t seen much of. Mairon had halted since he had been interrupted, to stop and curiously gaze at the equine not far from him, he investigated her features; being slim and lean, Mairon had assumed it was a mare. There appeared to be no stallions nearby and even if there was, he’d still approach the unknown mare, she had intrigued him not only by her strange and odd colouring but the way she composed herself so well. Most mares he had seen around here looked as if they were run down, but this one stood almost in a square. Mairon had decided it was time to stop gazing and investigating her intriguing features and make his way over. He left off in a calm but strong walk towards her, holding his neck crowned over his flexing chest, he had shown off his features like any other stallion would. First impressions always mattered to the stallion and he wanted to make it a good one, like always. Whilst on his walk towards her, he had just realised that his dappled buckskin coat had gotten thicker, preparing itself for the cold Wintery season ahead, almost making him look untidy. Just proves how much attention he had been paying to himself and that wasn’t a lot, his first priorities were to find more mares for his two mares back at Imperial Point and then get the herd moving along at a stable pace. Nothing else mattered to the stallion at the moment. Whilst on his current thoughts about the mares; Sabina and Cybil, he had failed to notice the slight chill in the air, it had certainly gotten much chillier lately. Winter would be worse when it decides to come around he thought. Just as he was at a reasonable distance the mare, by now he had assumed that she would have noticed his approach. He nodded his once with a grim smile across his murky luscious lips. He cleared his rusty throat before saying, “evening miss, name’s Mairon and yours would be?” he started off the conversation like this almost every time, assuming his tones were formal and pleasant towards every mare he has spoken to. The dappled buckskin stallion stood a firm ground, just to the left of her and waited for a reply. |

L U T H I E N i'm b u l l e t p r o o f .. nothing to lose ;; fire away ,, fire away you shoot me d o w n ,, but i won't fall .. i am T I T A N I U M ;; On one hoof Luthien is unsurprised when a stallion almost immediately takes notice of her standing within the trees, especially since she is in heat, but on the other she is equally surprised he didn't take one look at her and assume he could find a mare better looking that herself. Granted she hadn't really set eyes upon any other mares as of yet, but that wasn't the point. Even though she is quite pretty in reality, she simply had never seen herself in that way. No one but her grandmother had ever given her a compliment on her physical attributes and, quite frankly, that didn't do a tremendous amount for the four year old's self-confidence. Her dark black and blue head lifts slightly, black ears flicked sharply forward to train upon the striking buckskin stallion who seemed to decide swaggering towards her was his best first move. She snorts a little in amusement, refraining from rolling her eyes like a child in such a particularly important moment. The white stripe down her face makes for a stark contrast against the black forelock which sought to cover it up, so all hopes of possibly hiding at the last moment were out of the question. Luthien can't help but feel suddenly insecure, her black tail switching sharply about her muscular rump just once before falling still again. Was this stallion only interested because she was in heat and the closest mare he could find? She simply hadn't the experience to know, so she would play it as cool as possible. Even though he could have been trying to seduce her by showing off, she couldn't help but appreciate the flattery in any case. She'd never had a stallion try to bow up and strut his stuff for her, so she finds it shyly comical for a few moments before he is close enough to instill the harsh reality that it is all happening at this very moment. Involuntarily she leans back on her haunches just slightly as if in a slow motion spook, her pretty neck arched and nostrils flared wide to take him in as he draws close. Her head dips a little in a mix of fear and curiosity at having a strange stallion so close, but to him it would simply look as though she was trying to look pretty for him and had nodded her head in greeting. Aside from this one skittish movement, she settles back properly onto all fours and forces herself back into her typical logical thinking. Now was not the moment to get flustered, fearful or bashful about a stallion; it would get her nowhere. If she wanted this stallion to want to take her home, she needed to be on her best behavior. You see, in Luthien's mind, she is the one recruiting the stallions, not the other way around. The buckskin is very attractive, she can't help but notice, and his name is quite pleasant. She swallows her nerves far into her slender barrel and responds to his polite inquiry. "Mairon," she says, acknowledging his name with a slight purposeful nod, "I am Luthien. A Neutral." she says, all business despite the sharp attentiveness she was obviously giving him in this moment. So, if she played it right, this would be the stallion she could have a home with. She hoped he was decent and that he would treat her right. Even more, she hoped he wouldn't be upset with her for not wanting to submit to bearing his children as of yet. She simply didn't want them; she'd been rejected throughout her foal-hood and had no desire to accidentally subject her own children to the same sort of torture in some way. Not only that, but the idea terrified her at this given moment. She wasn't experienced enough. "Would you.... tell me a little about yourself? And your home?" she asks steadily, feeling like a child despite her previously bold and confident feelings about handling this situation. Faced with a living, breathing, obviously bigger than her stallion was a bit different than imagining how it might have gone in her mind. |

Whilst had been standing here in front of the blue roan mare, he had noticed that she seemed stand-offish, he immediately felt bad and had wondered what he has done wrong. Was it his appearance, the way he had carried himself? Searching through his most recent actions, he began to wonder what could have went wrong. Mairon wasn’t the type to often ponder on thoughts like this, but he thought he was honestly being nice and polite towards her, sure his appearance could have been better but the dappled buckskin stallion had spent almost a month in the common grounds, refusing to turn home and greet his two new mares which was pretty rude of him, but he had to make sure he got a few new mares to take home for Cybil and Sabina to interact with. He felt it was only necessary to do so, hoping that Cybil and Sabina wouldn’t grow bored of each other whilst they waited for Mairon to final return home for once and all. The stallion had almost begun to forget what Imperial Point had looked like, his memory being fuzzy here since he was deprived of sleep lately, he didn’t find the common grounds one bit comforting. Whilst in the midst of those current thoughts, he also began to wonder how long the mare had been here for. Surely it couldn’t have been that long since her appearance wasn’t as shabby as Mairon’s, though he did try to look the up most presentable for any mare, not hoping for anything. Lost in his musings, he had failed to notice the mare’s skittish movements not long after he had greeted himself, Mairon continued to ignore her behavior and pursue a conversation with her or at least try to if she decided not to be difficult with him, if that was so, he would simply leave the mare to find herself a stallion since she had failed to take up Mairon’s offer, really, it was no loss for the stallion since he had yearned for Imperial Point and his two newly claimed mares. Mairon kept a close eye on the mare as she had addressed his name in a polite manner, this had put a slight dent in Mairon’s murky lips, obviously resulting somewhat of a halfhearted smile. It wasn’t long till the mare had introduced herself as Luthien, and her alliance; neutral. The same as Mairon. Luthien had reminded him of Cybil, a curious yet dark and mysterious mare. He wondered what Luthien’s intentions were, yet he had also decided to ignore them thinking it couldn’t possibly be anything damaging. After Luthien had finished speaking, he had remained quiet for a few moments before politely responding, “ well, I’m a neutral like yourself and i have recently started up a small and upcoming herd in Imperial Point. There are two mares currently residing there; Cybil and Sabina who had taken up my offer on a claim upon them. They’re lovely mares but unfortunately I haven’t been back to my home land to greet them once again, I thought maybe trying to claim another mare wouldn’t hurt and Cybil and Sabina hopefully would appreciate it.” The dappled buckskin stallion had paused for a slight moment, thinking back at what he can remember about Imperial Point before speaking again, “Luthien, Imperial Point is a decent land, located in the The Offland which is not far from here. Food and water seem to be fine last time I was there and as for shelter, well that’s the same. Inside Imperial Point is a rather large mountain, overlooking my whole land, which I suppose would come useful if anything damaging would happen, though I highly doubt it will. Not only that, by I offer my full trust and protection which I hope is worthy for all my mares.” His tone had still remained the formal and polite tone it always was. His dark chocolate eyes held their gaze upon her, hoping he didn’t somehow scare her off, Mairon hoped this was enough to persuade her to take him up on his offer. |

L U T H I E N i'm b u l l e t p r o o f .. nothing to lose ;; fire away ,, fire away you shoot me d o w n ,, but i won't fall .. i am T I T A N I U M ;; Mairon's body language is a little difficult to read, but from his half hearted expression she grimaces inwardly, confident she's already managed to make him second guess approaching her in the first place. She hadn't really done anything wrong, perhaps just gotten a little timid for a moment, so she grows a little more stubbornly confident in herself. She didn't think much of her appearance, but that didn't mean he had to judge her for being insecure. The pretty blue roan stands a little taller, more solid if you might say. When Mairon opens his mouth, however, he sounds confident and polite as if he hadn't been debating her at all. Perhaps she just wasn't good at reading stallions. She is a little disappointed to hear that she was being sought as a companion for his other mares rather than himself, but she supposed that was hardly an unreasonable thing to seek out. Mares liked the company of other mares, after all. She nods as he speaks, absorbing the facts about him he so willingly provides as well as appreciating how well to do his territory sounds. She is slightly amused in thinking that he seemed to believe he had to convince her to come home with him. She had resolved to go with whomever approached her; that was the way these things worked, right? Whether they hit it off or not? It does sound nice, though, and he is polite enough as well as attractive in his golden coat. She moves to open her black maw to tell him to lead the way, but, to her utter shock, a second stallion approaches! She is confused and flattered by this development; two stallions wanted her attention?! Well, this was something she hadn't planned on in the least. She'd expected it to be difficult enough to get one stallion's attention, but two?! Her mouth snaps shut as she looks at the equally handsome steel gray with complete curiosity. This whole ordeal was actually doing wonders for her self-esteem. Her black tail flicks about her white socked hind legs in the midst of her racing thoughts, her mind going so quickly that she almost forgets to answer the gray. "Er, no, not interrupting at all." she says nicely, dark brown eyes looking at the second male as she says so. He was kind of interrupting, though, but only Mairon's long introduction and proposal. Then again, she believed he was done anyway, for the most part. "I am Luthien, and this is Mairon." she says, nodding towards the buckskin. She felt as though it would be polite to introduce the gray's competitor since she was the host of this whole interaction anyway. Her black ears flick back with indecision, not really sure if she should have Kayden just spout off everything about himself like Mairon had. Thinking suddenly of the buckskin, Luthien responds to his initial statements. "Your home sounds lovely, as I'm sure your other mares are. But, I'd like to hear what Kayden has to say before I accept your invitation, if you don't mind." she says warmly, offering him a pretty grin which only accentuates the expressiveness of her black, blue and white face. She turns expectantly back to the other stallion. It doesn't occur to her that they might want to know about her; stallions didn't really care about that. It made quite an impression, then, knowing that it was her looks that drew them in at all. Perhaps the naturally pretty blue roan Mustang hybrid had more going for her than she thought. |

Mairon felt a feeling of guilt rush over him for a slight few seconds, he didn’t want Luthien to feel as if she was only for his two other mares back at home, he also wanted to try and claim her for himself. Luthien would be a nice little edition to his upcoming herd, the mare was polite and had respect though she did seem a little timid on first impressions. Mairon was hoping that Luthien would take him up on his offer; he thought he described Imperial Point well since he hadn’t been there in almost a month, not even to introduce Cybil and Sabina. Though, when his work was done here, he’s going straight home and make it up to the mares, hoping that they wouldn’t mind his ignorant absence. Mairon hadn’t had a herd before, so he was only trying his best to maintain this upcoming herd of his own. By surprise, Luthien had stretched out her black maw towards him as if to say he would to be leading the way. Mairon wasn’t consumed by guilt now but overtaken with excitement; I wasn’t here long with Luthien and is already trusting of me, he thought in the back of his mind. He watched Luthien’s actions as she appeared to have been hesitant and he wondered what could have been wrong, so he scanned the common grounds and not to his surprise, there was another stallion approaching. The newcomer’s build was familiar to Mairon’s though he had a hue of steel grey colouration, it looked as though this stallion had quite a bit of experience here. As the new stallion had come to a halt not far from Mairon, he had already introduced himself as Kayden. Mairon felt as if he no chance with the mare now, with the little experience he has here in the common grounds but the buckskin stallion could only hope now. He seemed to be filled with hope nowadays. It wasn’t long until Luthien had started speaking again, reassuring Mairon that his home and mares seem lovely, this statement had put a slight grin over his murky maw towards the stunning blue and white faced mare. Mairon didn’t need to introduce himself since Luthien had already done that. The sturdily built stallion had assumed it was his turn to speak, failing to realize that hadn’t said a word to Luthien since Kayden had come along. “of course I don’t mind, Luthien”. Was all he had said before turning his white blazed head towards Kayden, waiting for his response. |

sweet dreams && flying machines in pieces on the ground.

Luthien is not surprised when the pale colored stallion is so smooth to respond to her words. He is obviously older and likely more experienced than Mairon, and apparently had a way with words. He gave a beautiful description of his territory and made it sound as if his home were picture perfect; a delightful territory in the mountains, terrain she is well accustomed to, faithful mares and children to carry on his line. His tone is almost blissful and she can't help but smile warmly at the delight he obviously took in his life. A life he was inviting her into. One ear is flicked towards Mairon then, not oblivious to the fact that he'd been so gracious about giving the gray stallion plenty of space and the ability to describe such a lovely life. She is immediately torn and, assuming that this was simply the way things went, she supposed she had to choose between them according to what they both told her. What did she want in a stallion? In a territory? She didn't really. She didn't really know if she wanted any of it or what it would consist of. Both of these stallions are beautiful in their own rights and seemed very nice, Kayden a little more intimidating simply because he had such a beautiful setup already. She would be a companion for Mairon's newly developing herd; with Kayden, she would be another bit of bliss in his big picture. Either way she supposed was a win. She sighs, lips tightly closed as her black tail flicks about her white peppered hindquarters. She supposes it would be impolite to reject the first stallion who showed any interest, and makes her decision. "Apologies, Kayden, but I feel it would be impolite of me to turn Mairon away since he approached first. Though, your home does sound wonderful. You are very lucky to be blessed with so much." she says warmly to him, honest in her words in that she had been abandoned pretty much her entire life. Made to believe she wasn't worth quite so much to anyone, really. She reaches out to the gray, touching her muzzle to his cheek in efforts of hopefully making him feel better about her rejection. At her young age she feels obligated to make both stallions happy, but is forced to understand that she simply can't do that. She pulls away from the gray and turns back to the buckskin, sighing with a little bit of relief that the decision is made. She casts a second glance over her shoulder at Kayden in apology, but sincerely feeling as though she's made the correct decision. Well, she supposes time will tell. ooc: you guys don't have to reply to this if you don't want
