The conversation was the same, just as it had always been when she was around other equine. 'Come on.' The voice echoed in her ears as she walked throughout the homeless. "No." Her words rattled out of her through as if she were shivering. 'Yes. It'll be fun! Just do it.' The voice commanded. Her ears laid flat back as she snapped back at the voice. "No! I will not go hurt innocent equines for 'fun'." Her words were like ice the words cut through her lips. 'Fine.' The voice spoke before it drifted away into the back of her mind again.

Esma, the voice in her head, had seemed to grow more and more evil by the day and only seemed to grow when she was alone. Lavender could build a wall between her and the other being with ease, her wall only collapsed when she was angered. For this reason Lavender had to find a home and fast. She needed someone to nurse her back to help before she lost all her sanity and could never regain it back.

The sun felt warm on her white gray overo coat as she walked slowly through the homeless, her bad leg holding her back from running. As her limps provided a bouncing movement her golden mane bounced beside her and her tail followed behind her happily, as her limps provided a bouncing movement. Birds chirped loudly, singing they're sweet songs to her. Squirrels and other small rodents scurried about, trying to find shelters for the harsh upcoming winter. She smiled at a squirrel who stood on a tree branch looking at her. She walked up to it and spoke in gentle words, "Hello friend, what a nice day huh? You better go and get ready for winter before it gets too cold, dear." Her dark blue eyes watched the small animal as he bounded off into a small burro in the ground. She sighed, just now realizing how tired she was, and laid down on a pile of leaves under the tree. She laid her head on her legs and drifted off into a shallow sleep.

He hadn’t felt this splendid for a while, claiming another mare; Cybil. She was a lovely mare, as lovely as Sabina yet he didn’t know much about either of his newly claimed mares, both intending not to stay too long in the common grounds which was understandable but Mairon intended to stay in the common grounds for a little while longer. He hadn’t returned to Imperial Point for relatively some time now, a little over three weeks to be precise. To be honest, the dappled buckskin stallion missed his land and his worries sometimes got the better of him at times when he was lonely here, it was like he was living in the homeless. Mairon worried about Sabina and now Cybil, wondering if they had made their way safely to Imperial Point. It would be a test sort of, he thought, since Imperial Point was surprisingly not far from these grounds. Yet the stallion still worried, it was only in his nature to or for any stallion with new claims really.

Not far from around the corner, was winter. Soon breeding season would be over and Mairon wasn't asked to reproduce and he wasn’t expecting a mare to either, he wouldn’t be quite as ready to willingly accept a random mare’s offer as of yet. He hadn’t even settled into his own home. Not breeding didn’t bother the stallion not one bit, he was the opposite, being quite glad that he hadn’t yet. A cool light breeze breezed through the land, noticing that this breeze was slightly chilly than Autumn’s. Mairon snorted and shook his head with the thought of Winter coming, hoping that nothing bad would happen to him, his mares or his land for that matter. The stallion had also noticed that the common grounds had slightly changed in appearance, the luscious green grass would often be covered in a pale hue of white in the mornings and the some trees appeared to be losing their Autumn leaves.

The dappled buckskin stallion grew tired of walking around aimlessly for most of the day, wasting it away here but he knew it would all be worth it in the end, growing knowledge of a new experience. Something in the near distance had caught his eye though whilst he seemed mixed in the thoughts of Winter and not wanting to be here, he saw a rather feminine frame laying down. Jumping to conclusions he thought that she was injured so he picked up his pace to a slightly rushed walk in her direction. Mairon didn’t have a clue what to do if she was hurt.

As he neared closer to her, he noticed that the mare had closed her eyes with no signs of any serious injury. Mairon had halted a few steps away from her, eyeing off her beauty but also wondering if she was healthy. His strong neck crowned over his chest, composing himself as usual. The stallion quietly snorted to her in a greeting sort of way before speaking not sure if it was the right thing to do, “hello miss, I’m sorry if I’ve interrupted anything but I was wondering if you were alright?” his tone was soft and he wasn’t sure if the mare would hear him. Mairon looked around at any possible dangers but there seemed to be none, he wondered for the time being if any stallions would approach a mare who appeared to be lying down.

Tartarus had been wandering in search of the homeless land's for quite some time now. He needed to start a new life, a new herd, one that wouldn't desert him like the last. He snorted a bit at the thought, getting a bit irritated. He kept his head a bit low as he eyed the mares in the area, some of them group together, cackling on about nonsense he wanted no part of. This time around he would have a small herd. One that was close knit, one that he could take care of properly. Tartarus eyed a stallion approaching a mare whom appeared to be sleeping. Odd, why would one want to disturb a mare that was sleeping. That was no way to make a first impression. He smirked at the thought. Perfect. He could use this stallions lack of manners to his advantage. And from that vantage point the mare looked gorgeous, her white coat shimmering in the autumn sun.

Tartarus pranced over towards the mare and stallion, keeping his head held high with confidence, stopping beside the other. "Parden me miss, but I couldn't help but notice how rude this Stallion was, interrupting your beauty sleep. My name is Tartarus. Is there anything I can do to help with this unfortunate start to your day?" Tartarus bent his head down towards her in a comforting way, smiling softly, keeping a small amount of distance between himself and the other stallion. If there was one thing he didn't trust it was other stallions, seeing as he had a bit of unfortunate history with them. His eyes scanned the mare over, trying to take in every detail of her. She looked tired, either because she was disturbed from her rest, or because something else was wrong. Was she sick? Hurt? He couldn't tell just yet. "Is everything alright miss? One does not usually sleep at this time of day.." He cocked his head to the side, showing that he was in fact worried about her well being, especially since he was becoming so interested in her already.

Her blue eyes looked up to find a stallion standing over her and another on his way. She smiled weakly, "Oh goodness, I must have been asleep longer than I thought." She said giving a fain giggle at the end. "I'm fine, Sir, it's just that I've had a long journey down here and I'm pretty tired." She flashed the stallion a sweet smile and eyed the next stallion talking. He was being a bit rude to the stallion who had been so sweet to check on her. "Oh no, Sir, uh, I mean Tartarus. I'm fine, honest." She smiled weakly at the stallion and picked herself up off the ground. She quickly remembered her leg and turned it slightly to-where maybe it wasn't a noticeable. But as she began to walk off to a patch of flowers she could feel it start to shake and she fell. Her face burned with embarrassment. Oh why her? Why did everything have to happen to her? She tried to get up but failed, so she just hid her face in her legs. 'Haha,' said Esma, 'I bet you wish that you would've done what I wanted now.' Esma's voice trailed off in a stream of laughter making Lavender even more embarrassed.

It had been quiet for some time between him and the sleeping mare he had assumed by now, he felt a little easy at heart, calming himself by telling himself she was asleep. Every now and then he would look around for any dangers to him or this sleeping mare, but there appeared to be none yet and no stallions had approached either. As time had been passing by, the almost winter chill would breeze by every now and then, making the stallion shuffle and reposition himself to a slightly comfortable and laid back style. No he wasn’t trying to impress the mare like all stallions seemed to be doing around here, Mairon was simply getting comfy for himself as he waited in patience for the mare to awake.

When he turned his head to look down on the sleeping mare, he had been interrupted with the sound of approaching heavy hooves. Shuffling a few steps back and looking around, he saw an approaching stallion. Mairon had composed himself as naturally as he did and waited for this newcomer to introduce himself, maybe he had been wondering if she was hurt as well? Mairon had thought or maybe he was just mare hungry like half the stallions were in the common grounds. The dappled buckskin stallion waited patiently for the newcomer to come to a halt and join the small group of two.

From what Mairon could tell, this newcomer had held himself with such cockiness and that made Mairon have a sudden distaste for him already and that wasn’t like him. Mairon usually wouldn’t judge until later, but in this case it was different. Mairon disliked stallions who advertised themselves falsely. Nevertheless, the dappled buckskin stallion remained calm and undisturbed by the newcomer. Just as he had halted beside him, he turned towards the newcomer but made no effort to greet him, he just grinned and then the newcomer started speaking towards the sleeping mare, not only did the newcomer appear to be cocky but he spoke quite rudely about Mairon, he didn’t appreciate this. Turning his head to this cocky and rude stallion who introduced himself as Tartarus. Bearing his teeth and flattening his ebony ears briefly, althought Mairon had immaturely did these actions, he wouldn’t act them. Snorting in disagreeance towards Tartarus he spoke, “I don’t appreciate someone who quite clearly doesn’t know me calling myself rude. I am far from it, I’d say you are rude for judging a book by its cover.” His tone was slightly a growl yet low enough so the sleeping mare didn’t awaken startled.

Feeling irritated by the company of Tartarus, Mairon focused his attention now on the mare who had no just woken. The stallion had hoped he didn’t awaken her. So she was asleep after all, the buckskin stallion thought, this had relieved him now and he felt slightly better but that feeling of irritation still bugged at him. Mairon kept his dark chocolate eyes on the mare who had failed to introduce herself, this didn’t bug him though, at least she appeared to be healthy. Mairon watched closely as the mare had gotten up and walked towards a patch of flowers and fell. Maybe she was weak or clumsy? Mairon humously thought which put the feeling of irritation a little behind him.

With a small and polite smile towards the mare he spoke, “well I’m glad you’re fine darling, got me worried there.” Mairon had paused and pressed his murky lips together, now switching glances between the mare and Tartarus, “sorry about this fool over here, I honestly didn’t think I was being rude at all.” His tone still remained the same, as he had lastly eyed off Tartarus he now gave full attention to this adorable mare, “I don’t think you introduced yourself darling, may we know who you are? If not, that shall be fine with me” Mairon stood firm for now.

Tartarus snorted a bit at the other stallion's comment. He had such ease finding mares to join his herd before. Perhaps his previous herd being washed away was a sign. He sighed and shook his head a little, eyeing the other stallion with a bit of irritance. He shook the feelings away and moved towards the mare when she fell. A clumsy mare? Or an injured one? Not many stallions would be willing to take an injured mare into their herds, but Tartarus was desperate. He was tired of traveling, having no herd to care for. He pursed his lips a bit, watching the mare on the ground before he trotted over to her. "I did not mean to appear rude my dear....are you alright? Are you injured?" Tartarus nudged her gently with his muzzle, nickering in an attempt to offer some sort of encouragement for her. "You are injured...You need someone to care for you...especially in this condition..."

Tartarus laid down on the ground beside the mare, looking back towards her leg. "Is that what's bothering you?" Tartarus thought back to his last herd, the one that was stolen from him. He had once taken care of a mare there, one with an injured leg. It had taken a lot of time and energy, but she was one of the closest mares he had, one he really truly cared for. His mind drifted off to his previous herd. He so many lovely mares. Ones that weren't hard at all to convince to join him. He just batted his lovely brown and blue eyes, and they seemed to fall for him every time. His herd was so large. The stallion sighed a bit at the memory, his eyes suddenly filling with sadness at the thought.

Tartarus shook the though from his head, his attention going back to the mare. "You know my dear, my home may not be very luxurious, but it has the most delicious and lovely fruit that grows on the trees there. It would be very good for your health I think..." He smiled warmly at the mare, his eyes examining her once again. She was lovely. He would be more than happy to have her in his herd. She seemed strong, perhaps even a more with potential to be his lead? "I've taken care of injured mares before...and all my attention would be on you! For I currently have...no..mares.." His words trailed off a bit, his voice turning sad.

Her dark blue eyes flashed up to the stallion that was first to come and console her. He said nothing of her leg, perhaps he didn't see it, or maybe he just didn't judge. Either way she was grateful. She flashed a quick, perfect smile at the stallion as he asked of her name. "It's Lavender. It'd be nice to know your's as well." Her sugar-sweet voice cooed through her lips. Her ears flung back in annoyance as the other stallion, called Tartarus, came up and started bickering about her leg, by the amount of worrying he was doing you'd think she had the plague. But to keep Esma gone she needed to stay calm. So, she grasped her bearings and looked up at the stallion. "No I'm not injured and I do not need someone to look over me as if i were a small foal. I can fend for myself, I've made it this far, thankyou for you concern but it's really unnecessary." She managed to rattle off just before the stallion popped off more petty comments. "Please do not try to persuade me. I would like to make my own decisions without either of you, nice stallion's, bickering among yourselves as to who is the best and so on." Her sentence ended with a sharp tongue as her words ripped through the still air.

She let out a huff and picked herself up. She let the silence carry on, the guilt of her words pulling on her and after several moments she grimaced, "I'm truly sorry for my behavior, I am very tired and also a bit cranky apparently." She let out a giggle and bumped her nose against both stallions. "Shall we all start over? And this time with me fully awake." Summing up her words was another giggle. She looked at each of the stallions, wondering who would be the next to speak.

The stallion was in a rush to get out of the common grounds, Mairon yearned to get home back at Imperial Point, mostly because he was filled with guilt for not being there for the arrival of his two newest mares. Mairon knew that he wasn’t off to a good start with them, but they seemed like forgiving mares, he would do anything to make them happy, hence why he’s out in the common grounds, day and night. Mairon felt it was essential for his mares to have company, not to sound too greedy, but for himself as well. He doesn’t treat mares as ‘trophies’, they’re equines and they all desired company, not to be a trophy. Mairon had hoped he could take Lavender home before he leaves the grounds for a little bit.

His ebony ears swiveled in the mare’s direction as she spoke to both stallions, introducing herself as Lavender and flashing a smile at both stallions, this instantly warmed Mairon’s heart and in return, flashed Lavender a warm hearted smile. The dappled buckskin wasn’t thinking about the other stallion who was here now, there was no time for that, he didn’t have time to make enemies at the moment. Mairon was fully focused on his herd and growing it into something acknowledgeable. Lavender had finished speaking and paused, Mairon had assumed that she would speak more so he remained silent, hooves firm on the ground.

Lavender, this time had focused her attention on the other stallion, reassuring him that her leg is fine. Mairon felt a feeling of relief come over him, the smile still remained on his murky lips and his strong and sturdy frame remained calm and relaxed, hoping that would make Lavender more comfortable. Mairon had nodded his head and snorted as her last words were short and snake like, he felt bad for the mare, letting his emotions come into play but he wouldn’t let anyone walk over him. “My apologies Lavender.” He spoke in a soft tone, like he always did. Mairon didn’t bother to turn his head to acknowledge the other stallion, he best keep his distance instead.

Mairon kept his focus on Lavender and her body language, her watched as she heaved herself up onto all four limbs now. No injuries, Mairon had thought, even more so relieved now. He watched as she came into with Mairon, still remaining in a relaxed position, she bumped his nose with a child-like giggle. She’s a lovely soul, he thought and couldn’t help himself but let out a little half-hearted chuckle in return. “Well since we all know each others names, what would you like to know about us, Lavender?” Mairon had assumed he was the first to speak in the group, so he did. Awaiting both their responses.

Tartarus wrinkled his nose at the mare's comment. She had spice to her. Never in his life had he ever been spoken to like she had spoke to himself and the other stallion. But he couldn't help but like that about her. "I'm sorry Miss, I didn't mean to offend you" Tartarus mumbled a bit, feeling embarrassed for putting himself out like that to the mare who was denying him even the time of day. He stepped back a bit away from the mare, keeping his eyes lowered. Perhaps the facade he had put up for the mare wasn't to her liking? That seemed impossible, all mares in the past seemed to like the way he approached them. he had tried to seem caring and kind to the mare, hoping she was free of injury, and offering some sort of help if she wasn't. But she brushed it away, scolding him even. He was taken aback. "Perhaps it was a mistake coming here. Perhaps I'm just not meant to have any mares. Perhaps that's why my herd was taken from me" His voice was cold, laced with irritation and sadness. He turned away from the mare, blowing air out of his nostrils.

Tartarus took a few steps away from the duo, swishing his tail in irritance. Who did she think she was? Talking to a stallion in such a manner. If she kept up like that she would never find a stallion interested in her. Except perhaps the one she already had. He pawed at the ground a bit, breaking the small layer of frost that had formed. He didn't have time to stay there, wandering about in search of mares. It was getting cold, and he had to find a place to call shelter for the winter. He hated the wind, and it whipped about his homeland quite fiercely. The stallion eyed the other mares, scattered about the homeless grounds. They looked small and cold. Maybe they would appreciate a home. Food. Care. Kindness. He shook his head. Perhaps he really wasn't meant to have a herd again. The thought filled him with nothing but sadness, causing him to lower his head ever further, blowing air at the ground, watching the ice crystals melt. winter was coming. He didn't have time for silly mare's games.
