Seller of Churros
|
Sariel A matter of weeks had passed since she gave birth to her twin children. It had been a long laborious birth, one that had made the pretty dark buckskin splash worried that something was terribly wrong with the entire ordeal. She just had to keep telling herself to breath and that the ordeal would be over as quickly as it could without killing her or her child...not realizing that she was carrying two foals within her womb. It was a terribly frightening ordeal, but she had decided on a well secluded area in a more lush grassland area of the foaling quarry, not wanting to subject her children to their dam's irrational fear of trees. Hours passed and the contracts became even more unbearable for the young mare. But, the first child freed himself and Sariel sighed in relief, but the pain had not subsided very much. Sariel felt more contractions coming and tried to get up in a momentary bought of confusion as to why it still felt like she was giving birth. She never made it more than a few inches above before she realized that she was gifted with a rare occurrence of twin children. The last child was freed from the confines of Sariel's body and sort of juxtaposed upon her sibling barely thanks to the small movement of Sariel's original attempt to get up. It had taken her a bit to get both children cleaned and acquainted with her and each other. Her son had been fast to be up on his little foals and trying to get into all sorts of mischief. Her daughter was the more frail of the two, the reason for their prolonged stay in the foaling grounds. Sariel had been nervous for her filly, that she might not be strong enough to survive the journey home. But, both of her dark buckskin sabino children seem to be strong enough to travel the long distance to meet their sire. She had been in Elijah's lands briefly. She had seemingly explored on her own, seeing as the stallion went out to see to some unfinished business and other duties she most likely would never be told of. She simply believed that this was also a way of saying that he was off to go and find more mares. This did not bother her, and he had returned home when she was at the worst stages of her pregnancy. But such thoughts aside, it was time to gather Gabriel and Ariel, as she decided her and Elijah's children should be called, to make their long journey home. |
