The seasons had changed and time had passed since Splash had seen her beloved mate. She and her son had been trying to find their way back to Perseus. Bad part was, they hadn't even known he claimed his own land. Which depressed Splash since she felt as if she had failed at her commitment to Perseus. Though she could only hope he would forgive her and their son for both being absent for as long as they were.

As the duo walked through the tall grass, the roan mare fixed her mix matched eyes on their surroundings. Her son, now nearly taller than the 14.2 hh mare, walked along beside her with his finely sculpted head held high, cream ears perked forward and listening to the rush of the wind as it passed through their manes. They knew this was Perseus' land, beings his scent covered the boarder from where he had been patrolling and checking for danger. They looked back and forth, no sign of Splash's mate and Creon's sire being near. Though they kept walking, both determined to find and be reunited with the stallion.

It had taken them a long while before they reached the center of the territory, or what seemed to be the center of the land. Creon shifted awkwardly as he looked around with his bright blue eyes, his sire not seeming to be around where they were. Splash sighed, perking her sorrel medicine capped ears as she let out a strong, yet soft whinny, calling for her mate. She continued to walk, Creon in tow. In hopes that maybe the two would cross paths with Perseus, and he himself would be just as happy to see them as they would him.

Beings Creon had grown an awful lot since the last time he had seen his father, and hoped he would be proud of the young stallion his son had become. The two waited patiently, listening for any rustle of the grass or even a whinny in return, meaning Perseus would know they were there and wanting to see him. Splash propped her back left foot on its tip and waited. Her son circling her protectively and impatiently as he waited for his sire to make an appearance.

- - so i'll put my faith

The buckskin splash was slowly finding his way round the Weeping Towers. Aside from the two landmarks that dominated most of the landscape, he was navigating his way round the place, slowly getting used to its quirks and hideaways. He had been trawling the homeless and other claiming grounds, but without any success. Was he doing it wrong? The young stallion felt like he had nothing to prove. He had met a lot of stallions in his progress, and they all seemed to have established herds already, or had an ambition. All Perseus had going for him was that he was generally a nice guy, and his loudly marked coat. His one mare had disappeared, and he was almost inclined to give up searching for her, but couldn’t bring himself to accept the fact she was either dead or no longer wanted to return to him.

The brightly coloured stallion moved through his wooded home. The layout of the Weeping Towers was quite simple, being located on a wide river, and the banks and the woods around it were included in his home. Of course, there were the towers too – two huge monuments build way before equines dominated the planet. They had a sort of pull to them, and Perseus never strayed very far from them. Currently he was on the west side, picking his way through the trees to the pebble bank. The Offland remained reasonably temperate, so he didn’t have to worry about stifling heat or harsh winters. He had not been back to Two Raids in a while, and made a mental note to do so either on the way to or from the homeless. He liked seeing his parents, and a small part of him hoped someone in his sire’s herd would have tracked down Splash and Creon. Perseus had to keep optimistic.

He heard a soft whinny ring out across his territory. The stallion paused, his head up and ears pricked as he listened to the mare’s call. She sounded familiar. Could it be? Only standing still to bugle his own call out to the female, Perseus picked up a quick trot, navigating his way through the roots of the trees as quickly as he could. He pinpointed their location, finding the mare and colt on a grassy expanse void of trees, looking out to both the Weeping Towers. He snorted excitedly, recognising Splash right away. The blue-eyed colt was presumably Creon, although he was much older, looking more like a fully grown stallion more than a gangly foal that he remembered.

Perseus started forwards, greeting Splash first. “You came back! It’s so good to see you, Splash. I was searching everywhere.” He said touching his nose to her, sighing in relief that seemed to lift from every particle of the buckskin paint. His blue eyes turned next to Creon, and he ventured forwards to bump the colt affectionately on his forehead. “Look how you’ve grown!” He laughed, in happiness, but it was bittersweet. He was overjoyed to see his son again, but he had missed so much of his development. Creon was a stranger to him.

The Dunalino mare made her way slowly towards Perseus's home. She told herself that she was admiring the view of the scenery around her before being locked away for good in a stallions land but if she was honest with herself that was not the cause of her slow pace. Iridescent had no idea what to expect would the handsome stallion she met at the Quick Claim demand foals from her right away with out regard to her wishes? Iridescent was still shocked by the sheer number of stallions that seemed to take an interest in her. She did not consider her self pretty in any regard and thought that their must be something wrong with her for her mother to abandon her at such a tender age in life. All of these thought churned through the young mares head as she plodded along through the Offland's territories one at a time. She had to face it she was very nervous she had been on her own for basically her entire life and had no idea what herd life had in store for her. Iridescent picked up her pace, for there was only one way to find out, and that was to go and meet him. As the young mare reached the boarder of the Weeping towers and paused just for a moment, but forced her self to enter, this was most definitely his territory. Her fluid trot ate up ground and she made her way towards the middle of the territory, soon she herd voices that sounded friendly and this made her a little more hopeful and confident about her choice in claimer. Soon she broke out into a large meadow only to realize she had probably just intruded on a personal confrontation. The mare was beautiful paint that made her heart sick, she was just so plain in comparison that she had no idea what Perseus has seen in her. After a moment of standing their awkwardly she cleared her throat and spoke. "Hello, I am sorry, I did not mean to interrupt anything."

Perseus took another moment to glance over his wonderful son once more. He had missed them both so much. It felt like a proper home now that his first mare and only foal were safely in it. It would not be the same as Two Raids, as his family were not milling about him, but he knew he would always have a place to go to there if he needed to. The Weeping Towers provided some spectacular views, and although the buckskin splash had heard about the stigma that went with the land, he was prepared to fight for it. He grinned at the pair of them, reaching forwards to snuffle Splash again briefly. His golden ears pricked back though, as he heard another set of hoof beats on the ground. This would presumably be the other mare he claimed, a young lady he had met in the common grounds named Iridescent. Glancing at Splash and Creon, he could see the tiredness in their faces. “I have a new herd member to greet. If you wish you can go rest yourselves and have a little exploration of our new home. There will be plenty of time to make introductions later.” He said, watching the mare and foal as the slipped away.

He hoped the dunalino wouldn’t mind too much. He expected she would find the trek here tiring also, and could sympathise with Splash for wanting to rest. Turning his two-toned body towards the direction the hoof beats were coming from, his pale blue eyes scanned the surrounding area for a sign of her. She broke into the meadow quite suddenly, and Perseus jumped a little at her sudden appearance. Sensing the slight tension the new mare held, he smiled at her, his muscular body taking a few strides towards her and offering his nose for scents. “Not at all, Iridescent. My other mare Splash has just arrived also, but she and my son are going to have a little rest as they found the travelling quite tiring.” His azure gaze scanned her, hoping she would understand.

Taking a step back and giving the mare some space, he kept his eyes on her. “Anyway, it’s great to see you got here. Do you want me to show you around? I had a little time to myself before you ladies showed up and I must say it is quite beautiful.” He said with a grin, his ebony tail swishing about his legs. He hoped she would take him up on the offer, as he didn’t know Iridescent that well and hoped this bonding time would allow him to get to know the dunalino a little better.

Iridescent watched as the painted mare and colt slipped quietly into the shadows as she arrived. The Dunalino had always been very unsure of herself ever since a very young age because of her mother abandoning her. Ever since that moment when she realized her mother was not coming back for her she learned to keep in the shadows and now that she was old enough to take care of her self and make life changing decisions she had gone to the quick claim to perhaps find a stallion. Many of those stallions were very nice looking but she was happy with her choice in the end. This had been a huge stepping off point for the young mare because, she normally stayed in the background because she had had to for survival, so she was unsure about how to catch stallions attention. So when she had gotten so much attention at the claiming grounds she became nervous very quickly. Iridescent hates being fussed over, and she felt a tinge of guilt as she watched the pair walk away. She felt as if maybe she had something to do with their leaving despite what Perseus said. Iridescent smiled at the stallion, she knew she had made the right choice even if she had chose him quickly to have all those stallions stop sizing her up like she was a hunk of meat. As Perseus stretched out his neck towards hers she guessed that was a sign that she was supposed to do the same so she quickly sniffed him and pulled back. Perseus spoke and Iridescent could not help but feel so entirely lucky she had found a stallion such as this painted one standing beside her. Desi, watched and listened carefully to what the stallion had to say before responding to his generous offer. "Thank you for the offer Perseus, I would be happy to have you show me around." Iridescent replied shyly.

His icy gaze followed the mare’s eyes, and the buckskin splash quickly turned his head round to watch what she was looking at. The disappearing rumps of his son and the mother of soon were lost in the trees. Overall, the Weeping Towers were quite wooded. There were clearings like this one, but they usually held some kind of ruins that the ancients used for council. A large river ran through the land, although it was easy enough to swim through. The big drawing point to the territory was the icons they were named for, the Weeping Towers. So vast they could be seen for miles around from other lands, they loomed either side of the river, so high and unnaturally steep it would be impossible to climb with hooves. Perseus, like many others, was convinced they were not natural rock, weather would not carve such monuments like that.

The golden and white stallion turned back to the mare in front of him, offering her a smile. She looked quite shy. Perseus knew hardly anything about her, merely her name and appearance. She seemed lovely, but he thought from first impressions it would take a lot for her to come out of her shell. His blue eyes seemed to glint when she returned his smile, excitement bubbling in his stomach. The buckskin splash was a gentleman in behaviour, but he was happy to have another mare join his tiny herd. He didn’t think there would ever be enough equines to cover the large land he owned, but some more companions would be nice. She spoke, her tones rather muted, but she expressed an interest in taking a look round. “Excellent.” He responded, knowing in his mind immediately where he was going to show her first.

Perseus took a step forwards, glancing back to the dunalino to make sure she was following him. “If you’d like to step this way, I want to show you a rather fantastic view.” He said, offering her another smile before continuing. He walked quite slow, just because he appreciated the beauty the land offered, and he was sure she would too. He picked a route through the trees, avoiding ones that were too close together or had upturned roots, feeling where the soft earth turned to gravelly sand, littered with small pebbles. His hooves made a gentle noise on the beachy terrain as the treeline ended, coming out on the river edge. The water sloped gently, allowing a little shore space rather than a drop straight into water. Turning to see that Iridescent was with him he turned his splashed face to the huge towers to the right of them, nodding in their direction. “Lovely, isn’t it?” He said, with a smile. He turned back to her, his expression hopeful that she found it as beautiful as he did.
