With Rich Water now officially under his control, and one mare on her way back from the strange lands of the Quick Claim, he felt it was time to really establish his herd. While not one to necessarily shy away from battles, there had been many whispers of an absent stallion whose herd still waited patiently for him to return, ripe for the picking. Sileo wouldn't really mind if the stallion came back to fight, but the possibility of being able to scoop up a few mares without bloodying his coat was a wonderful thought. Not only would he be able to grow his herd, but he would be able to do it without risking the one mare he already had.

He was half dry by the time his solid figure made land in the battle grounds arena, hooves barely sinking into the dry sand. With sun beating down on his coat, he could feel the liquid evaporating off of him, leaving sticky, salty residue on his coat. Pausing for a moment, he took the liberty of rolling, replacing salt with sand and then rising, relishing in the revitalizing feeling of itches satisfied. If all went well, and even if it didn't, he should be able to return home from this battle in time to meet Lena, hopefully with new conquests in tow. He had spent the last few days observing what remained of the Nomad's Baron herd and had picked out his choices carefully. He had liked the look of Crescent, but she seemed happy and content in the Baron, and because he doesn't consider's mare's feelings when it comes to claiming, it was prudence that made him look elsewhere. Attempting to take four the three mares, and their offspring, that he was challenging for, back to Rich Water by himself was going to be a task in and of itself without having to worry about a mare that was genuine attached to the absent stallion. Her daughters also caught his eye, but they were unclaimed and too far out of their natural instincts to respond to any kind of claiming manuever.

So he had set his eyes upon two mares. Echo, a lovely dun overo, and Keshka, a beautiful cremello. Presumably Keshka's daughter would follow as well, bringing his herd count up to four, which was a respectable enough number. Just from their personalities, he assumed that Keshka would probably be the one to take control of the herd, but one never knows. Perhaps in a different environment, Echo would come out of her shell.

Eventually he moves on, picking a spot somewhere near the heart of the small land. The area around him was hilly, with a stiff breeze that tugged fitfully at his curled mane and tail. This would do well enough. Plenty of room to manuever and a clear view all around. Halting, he raised his head and trumpeted for Cian, the lost leader of Nomad's Baron.

"Cian, I challenge you for the claim of Echo, Keshka, and her daughter Ayano."
