The chestnut painted filly was still crying. She had gone home to try and find her father only to learn he was dead. He beloved father was gone. She had no choice but to find her mother and the young stallion she now resided with. She hated to come here. But she needed to see her mother. She needed to tell her about her father's demise. The filly partly blamed her mother. He was probably heartbroken and had thrown himself to the wolves or something. Her heart ached for him. She looks around the water logged land. Why did her mother come here? Snorting angrily she continues farther into the territory. Hoping her mother would allow her to stay. Wait it had to be that young lad she was living with. What was his name? Snorting she comes to stop in the middle of the territory and whinnies for attention. The brown mare was grazing her young son was off with his father having just nursed. She was feeling better after her latest pregnancy. It had taken quite a while to recover. She didn't think she would be having any more foals after him. But one never knows. Her dark tail slaps against her hide as flies bite at her rump. The day is quiet and she is enjoying the peace. Peace is something she has been longing for. A familiar sounding whinny brings her head up as she looks around. Spying a familiar filly off in the distance she motions her black legs towards her. Spying her daughter she stop a few feet from her. "Melonie? What are you doing here?" She smiles and nuzzles her daughter. Happy to see her. The look on the fillie's face tells her another story however. Melonie is slightly happy when her mother comes into view. She returns her mother's affection. Looking at the ground she sighs. "Father is dead. I thought you would like to know. I come to ask if I could stay here for awhile." She looks at her mother with a serious expression. Elora frowns when her daughter speaks. "I'm sorry that happened Melonie. Know that I cared about your father a lot." She pauses for a moment. "You know I would love for you to stay here. But I am not the one who makes those decisions. You will have to ask Tornado this is his land after all." She smiles and looks around for the stallion and her young son. She was eager for him to meet his older sister. She smiles at her daughter. |

His elegant head bobbed up as heard a whinny carry across the watery landscape. He scrunched his brow as he saw Elora quickly chase after the young call. The large draft quickly followed the mare from a distance but to only find that the paint filly that he had once seen in the homeless with his dearly beloved Elora. The young stallion's face a sullen as he walked up to the trio making it a quartet. He nuzzled his son on the hind before hearing about the reason for why the young filly had come to his land. He quickly whirled around as he felt something rub on his hind, but he only found it was his father. He let out a relaxed sigh and bumped his father's nose. "Hey dad!" He quietly said as he looked up at his large father. He smiled and chuckled at the colt "Hello bud."The stallion eyed the filly who wished to gain a spot in his land. The stallion was soft, especially for this particular filly. He didn't know why though. He walked up beside the mare and softly touched her neck with his ebony nose. He gave the filly his attention, "Forgive me for over hearing, but I heard that your dear father has gone out of this world. I'm sorry that this happened to you." He paused to collect his thoughts as he caught a glimpse of the young colt. "I also heard that you wish to seek a temporary home here. And I suppose that's fine, Melonie is it?"his deep voice bellowed out to the filly. His emotionless eyes drilled into her. He motioned for his colt to come near, and when Caleb did, Tornado smiled and nuzzled his colt. As his father nuzzled him he returned the favor by rubbing his fathers leg affectionately. His smiled and looked up at his father. Someday, he wanted to be as big as him. And have a herd of his own too. He looked back at the filly. "This is your half brother Caleb, I dearly hope your not put off by the thought of me having a foal with your mother, Melonie." His looked down at the foal and gently bumped him on the rump. "Go ahead, Caleb, introduce yourself to your sister." A panicked look crossed his face as he stepped forward to greet the large filly. "Hello, I'm Caleb. It's nice to meet you." He quickly stepped back between his mother and father for protection. |

Izabella & Fura The white mare grazed as her little filly nursed, it was a relaxed day. The grass tasted delightful, she loved summer time. Fura stopped nursing and started biting her mother lightly because she wanted to play, she did not see the colt near and she had wanted to get to know him a bit. Izabella started trotting a bit and the Fura did the same but a bit faster. Izabella stopped when she heard a whinny and she pricked her ears looking around from where it came. She heard a hoof beat that got silent soon and she got curious. Izabella nickered to Fura and she started galloping in the direction where the whinny came from, Fura followed her and her thin legs were fast and she galloped ahead of her mother. When Izabella came closer she saw Tornado, Caleb, Elora and then a paint filly that she had not seen before around. She walked closer but not to close, she did not hear what they said and she did not want to rush into their conversation they had, the filly looked sad. Izabella took few steps until she stood next to Tornado and a Fura by her side. "Who is it?" Izabella whispered to Tornado. |

It wasn't long before Tornado found his way to mother and daughter. Elora was pleased to see her young son. Melonie eyed the colt that showed up with the black stallion. She knew right away that this was her brother. She gives a slightly disgusted look at her mother. She turns to the stallion as he speaks. She nods when he speaks. "Yes sir that is right. I am sorry for how I acted. It will only be for a little while." Deep down she does not trust not particuraly like this stallion. Why she does not know. Still she has to pretend she is here not to cause trouble. The stallion speaks again introducing the colt. She looks at the colt. He reminds her of her older brother Castor she had met long ago. Her mother spoke of Castor and Pollux often. She wondered if she'd ever see Castor again or her older sister Lilith. She watches as the colt steps forward and introduces himself then runs and hides between his parents. "Hi Caleb. I am Melonie, your older half-sister." She says nicely to him. Elora watches her daughter quietly and is pleased when Tornado speaks to her and allows her to stay here. She hopes her daughters grows out of her dislike for the friesian. She was quite fond of the young stallion and wasn't going to leave him for anything. She leans down and nuzzles her son on the shoulder to reassure him. She is also happy when she notices Izabella nad her daughter approaching. She smiles to the white mare. She hears what Izabella says to Tornado. "This is my daughter Melonie." She says quietly. Hoping Tornado doesn't getannoyed that she spoke out of turn. Melonie watches as another mare comes into view with a foal at her side. She smiles a little to them. |

His dark muzzle reached out to Izabella and his filly with his muzzle, welcoming them both into the conversation. His dark eyes sparkled at them. He was a lucky stallion. Not all stallions in his general age. He loved them all. His eyes stretched to the filly as she spoke. "It's okay, Melonie. You can stay as long as you like."His voice was flat even though his eyes where welcoming and warm. The stallion never showed really showed the same emotion in two places. He was a very strong willed stallion too. The colt looked up at the adults talking and noticed that the other filly had joined the group. He smiled happily and pranced over to her. "Hiya, Fura!" his tenor voice called out to the gray filly. He couldn't wait til they were done talking to his older 'sister'. He looked up at Fura's mother. "Hi, Auntie Bella." He smiled at the nickname he had given his aunt. He had always heard his dad call her something with bella in it. He shrugged and waited for the filly to say something. Tornado chuckled at the colt. "Well, why don't we go over to the river and chat some more?" He said motioning towards the river. It wasn't like he wanted a break in the conversation, he just needed some fresh air. In the gully that they where in had no breeze. He patiently waited for someone to agree with him. Caleb quickly looked at his father and at Fura before taking off at a gallop to the river. A grin made its way around the colt's lips at the warm summer wind blew in his face. Tornado released a call to the colt, warning him to stop and wait for them to come. Caleb ignored his fathers call and galloped into the fast flowing water. His head turned to a loud raging sound that over took the river. It sounded like, like a heavy rain storm. |

The Icelandic mare smiled to Elora, she turned her head to Melonie "Nice to meet you" she said with a smile. She took one step back and nuzzled Fura. "Hey!" Fura said back to Caleb with a smile on her black lips. "Hello Caleb" Izabella said back and laughed at the nickname he had given her. Izabella's tail slapped from right to left and she listened to what Tornado was about to say. Izabella nodded in agreement and looked up at the other two. She looked at Fura who was racing down after Caleb trying to be ahead of him. The yearling galloped as fast as she could after him. Izabella smiled and watched the filly race after him. (sorry for the bad post, my muse was low but I just wanted to get this done so we can continue with the topic) |

Elora was relieved when Tornado allowed Melonie to stay. Though she would make sure her daughter behaved herself. She would not have a child of her misbehave and make her look bad. She smiles when Caleb acknowledges his other sister. Tornado then suggested that they head down to the river. That sounded nice actually. She follows behind Tornado and Caleb. Melonie trudges behind quietly eyeing the other mare and filly. Elora looks up to see her young son ignore his father's call and run right into the fast flowing water. An alarmed whinny issues from her motuh as she runs ahead and tries to see where Caleb fell in. She does not see him and suddenly feels desperate but hesitates going into the water. Melonie is equally alarmed. She stands beside her motehr and wonders what to do. She issues a warning as Fura rushes after her brother. Looking over at Tornado she hopes the young stallion knows what to do. |

His dark legs were like lightning across the land as he went to his colt. His hooves raised up of the ground and plummeted into the raging river that yanked Caleb around and pulled him two-three yards down stream. His draft legs whisked through the water as he raced against the river. His heart pounded in his ears while the water bumped him around and pulled him under. Caleb screeched for help as the water pulled him away, his long legs kicked as hard as they could but alas he was so small, he had no chance. Fear raced through his body as tears soaked his face. The water pulled him down for what seemed like minutes before giving him mercy and letting him back up for a couple breaths. He tried to scream for help again but nothing came out but the sound of air. The devil was trying to kill him by forcing him to a watery grave. A race against time. Tornado kicked hard at the water, forcing himself to be faster than the river. His head was yanked under the water, the water pushed its way into his lungs, but he would not be overcome by such a weak substance. So, fighting the pain that surged through him he placed himself back up to the surface. His coughed out the water and took in the crisp air that softly blew above the roaring river. His legs began to grow weak but he pushed them harder. His heartbeat grew faint in his chest as pain rushed through his lungs. He took in another deep breath, smells flowed into his nose. Izabella, Fura, Elora, Melonie, and last but not least, little panicked Caleb. Pride surged into his heart as his strength was suddenly replenished. He had to be there for his herd. There was no if, or but, or what if. He was and always would be there for his family. His muzzle reached something moving and squirming around in the water. He quickly grabbed it on the withers and threw it ashore. He willed his body half up onto the beach, his back legs still laid in the water. His lifeless body laid there, his dainty heart beat barely lingered, his chest hardly moved except for the occasional deep breath. His eyes were closed tight, hoping that this was only a dream. Pain rushed into his withers as something sharp dug into him and lifted him somewhere warm and somewhere dry. His eyes opened to find his father pulling his body up onto the sandy area with him. Caleb watched his father, was he dying? What was wrong with him? Caleb was so weak that he couldn't do anything but look at his fathers dying body. |

Izabella was still smiling when her daughter was trying to catch Caleb, but the moment she saw him drop in the water her face went motionless, her heart stopped and she froze. She did not know what to do, she could not call Fura to make her stop so she would not drop in like he did, and Tornado had told Izabella never to go to close to the river. She watched frightened at Elora run down whinnying, she thought she heard Melonie gave alert to Fura and Izabella saw that her daughter had stopped. The gray mare heard the black stallion race down to the river as she stood frozen on the same spot. She saw Tornado jump into the river and that is when the mare was able to move, she ran as fast as she could down to Elora, Melonie and Fura, the fear in her eyes was easy to see. She watched Tornado in the water struggling and fighting for his and his son's life. Her eyes started tearing up, more tears each second. It felt like hours had passed by when it was only few seconds. Suddenly she saw Caleb rising from the river and landing on the surface, Izabella had no idea what to do, she just watched Caleb laying there … suddenly she heard someone trying to get to the surface and she saw Tornado, he was half up, tears started flowing from her eyes as she saw Tornado, barely moving his eyes closed. Izabella saw he was breathing but he did not look like it was easy for him, Izabella felt so helpless, what could she do … nothing … she had to wait and that was the last thing she wanted to do while Tornado could be dying, Caleb was watching his father and his breathing seemed to be steady for now. Izabella folded her legs and laid down next to Tornado, she laid her head on his neck as the tears streamed down her face. Fura did not know what to do, she saw Caleb watching their father, her mother lying on the ground with her father. She walked over the Caleb and laid down next to him and nuzzled him and tried to give him some warm. She looked over at her mother and father, her mother was crying and watching this all was painful, one tear ran down her cheek. |

The horror Elora witnessed was almost too much. It summoned the horror of things that came before. Watching her beloved Herod being torn to pieces alongside her eldest son Pollux. She remembers Castor getting her and Lilith to safety only to be found by the wench and beaten to a pulp. The scars on her pelt reflect that dark miserable day. She watches as Tornado finally reaches Caleb and manages to get him ashore. He then drags his black body out onto the bank and collapses. She madly rushes to her son and her ears are flattened. She looks down at the colt. "Caleb!! How could you do that to me? Don't ever do anything like that again!" She couldn't help her anger. The thought of losing another son was too much for her. She feels guilty for yelling at the colt but doesn't know what else to do. She nuzzles the wet foal and turns her attention to a stricken Tornado. Izabella looks so frightened and lies down next to the stallion. She watched as Fura and Izabella both laid down and cried. She snorts. Lowering her muzzle she nudges Tornado. Hoping he is only in shock and will be fine in moments. She doesn't not cry however. The older mare knows that it isn't an effective thing to do. All she can do is stand there and wait for the stallion to respond. She glances at her cold wet son again and manages a weak smile still guilty about yelling at him. |

Tornado's body screamed in pain as Izabella came and laid her head on his neck. His back ached and his muscles were worn out. He managed to open one eye and take a quick look before letting it fall shut again. His mind gathered up words to say to them. What would he say? How could he say it? Could he even talk? He let out a deep breath and let the questions accumulate. Caleb looked up at his mother, he curled up into a ball and watched her lay neck to his father. He watched his father breath, his aunt cry, and his sister take it in. She looked scared. He slowly moved up into the siting position and scooted himself forward. He snuggled up neck to his mother who had given him an apologetic smile. ”Izabella.” He paused and took in a breath or two. ”I'm fine, dear.” Caleb smiled when he heard his fathers deep voice. ”Thank-you, Dad.” He said smiled and softly rubbing his nose on his father's pelt. He smiled in return for Caleb's comment. He felt so weak. So helpless. His eyes opened to see that everyone but Melonie surround him. His heart pounded, he was so proud to have such a wonderful family. He was so blessed to have such a beautiful land to call his own. His withers still burned and stung where his father had grabbed him. He cuddled up to his mother and rubbed his muzzle on her forearm. His ebony body slowly started to regain strength, and his breathing became more normal. He slowly got up to-where his legs were folded under him. A satisfied look crossed his face as he nuzzled Izabella and Fura. ”See? I'm perfectly fine, dear.” |

When the gray mare heard the stallions voice she wasn't sure how to react, smile, cry more or something else, but after few minutes a bright smile spread over her lips, the tears turned from sad tears to happy tears and she could not hide her smile, she started crying and laughing at the same time and she nuzzled him affectionately "I am so glad you are okay!" she said laughing, crying and smiling, there was nothing that could make her happier now than the fact that everyone were safe. She looked over to her daughter which wasn't crying but the tear was still on her cheek since earlier. Fura was smiling to her mother. When the stallion said that he was perfectly fine the mare lifted her head up and scanned the stallions body making sure that he was completely fine, words would not convince her, she needed to see. Her eyes found nothing serious on the stallions body but he might have something on the other side of his body. The mare was still lying with the stallion but she stood after a short moment so he would be able to get up on his feet. |

Relief floods the old mare as the stallion slowly wakes up. When he speaks she sighs. She feels her son's touch. She smiles when the stallion speaks and Caleb responds. The stallion moves into an upright position. He would probably regian his footing shortly. Caleb nuzzles her foreleg and she reaches down to nuzzle her cold wet son. She smiles at him. "Don' think I'm not still upset with you." Her voice is stern yet gentle. She didn't think she would actually punish the colt. But she just couldn't think of what else to do. The thought that she had almost lost her son and new claimer was almost to much for her. She watches as Izabella gets to her feet and keeps watch over Tornado. She looks down at Tornado. "Welcome back. So happy to see you awake. How are you feeling? " She smiles and keeps hoping things will be fine. Deep down she knows they will. Melonie stays back from the family some distance. She is relieved that eveything appears fine but she stays where she is. |
