The pregnant mare waddled into the land. Her belly was heavy with foal. It had been a long trek here but she had made it. Her pink hooves made marks in the sand as she walked along the water. She was supposed to meet some of her long lost friends here. So her blue eyes scanned the beach as she waited for her friends to show up.

Thunder followed along behind Magdelan, watching her stumach move from side to side as she walked. The dun stallion was completely fascinated with the changes that his lover had gone through. He had never stuck around long enough to see what would happen to a pregnant mare and he found it quite interesting. He was very glad the lovely mare could stil move around. It had made travel much easier. "Who are we meeting here, darling?" Thunder didn't know many horses and he had no family to speak of. He had left them behind at a young age and had not come across them again. The stallion lifted his striped head and looked from side to side. The place was relatively quiet.

The painted filly had felt guilty about walking off from her mother. They hadn't seen each other in almost half a season and she missed her. But her wandering spirit had taken her all over the planet in a short time. She would be like both of her parents forever wandering the world never finding a true home. The ocean spills out in front of her. Magnificent and blue and huge she is awed by it for a moment. The sea air is loaded with briny salt. A more familiar scent reaches her. She turns towards it and takes off at a gallop. Upon reaching the familiar sight she whinnies but freezes when she spies a stallion close to her mother. Her mother's advanced pregnancy is apparent as well. She eyes the stallion having never met her father she wonders if this stallion was her father. She stops a few feet from her mother. "Mother!! Oh I have missed you. I am so sorry we got separated." She glances at the stallion and at her mother's swollen abdomen. "And you are?" Her entire tone changes. "I am Miriam. Magdelan's daughter." She smirks slightly.

The aging rogue had found himself in so many different place in his fifteen years of life. He never stayed in one place more than a day. He could tell stories of every region on Kormada. He could tell stories of ancient clans of horses the did not speak the common language. They had grown strange appendages and had a mysterious way about them. Even though his limbs ached from constant travel he never yearned for a home to settle in. Though now that his beloved granddaughter was back in his life he had a place to rest. Even if her mate didn't approve. Sighing the dark bay curly mustang hybrid spies some figures on the beach ahead. One of them looks vaguely familiar. A female he encountered around two years ago. A young filly and a stallion stand close to her. He didn't put two and two together that the filly was in fact his daughter. Not that he cared. He shrugs and decides to walk towards the small group. He hadn't had any contact with others for some time. He eyes the mare with the swollen belly. He knew he hadn't done that. His bluish eyes look over the filly and stallion. Then turning again to the mare he smirks slightly. "Magdelan?? Right thats you isn't it." His greasy uneven curly mane hangs in his face. He makes no effort to remove it. His dirty curly coat is shedding its winter coat slightly making him appear mangy. He looks at the filly and the other stallion. "The names Storyteller. Or so its the one I made up that makes the most sense. Couldn't tell you my real name." He smirks and waits for the others to speak. He ignores the piercing eyes of his daughter.

Her brown/black-ish tail swished at her hocks in the black air. The moons provided enough light to be able to see the sweet stallion that stood at her side her pink muzzle reached out to his offering a gentle muzzle, reassuring him every thing's okay with her. After hopefully answering the stallions subconscious question she shrugs her big belly heaving at the sudden movement. Her pained head swung around, her ears swiveled on her elegant head as she heard sand crunching in the distance in front her.

Her pregnant body was swollen and achy. It seemed as if a dull pain was always constant and always there. Her blue eyes spy a little filly run up to her. Mag suddenly realised that the sent was of her own daughter. Her mouth was brought up in a slight smile. "Oh my goodness!! Baby girl how are you?!" She just managed to finish saying this sentence when a dark figure comes out from the background. Mag's stomach tightens as the stallion ,or her previous mate, speaks her lungs realised a loud gasp as she looked at the stallion before her. "Yes! Storyteller?! Its so nice to see you! How are you fairing?" Her deep blue eyes rested on the stallions mangy coat, her mind was disgusted at him but her face still showed a happy surprised. Her pink nose reached back to the stallion offering him to come up and meet the two that had just approached them. A soft breeze played with her mane as she stood waiting for a response for any of them.

Thunder watched two horses approach. They appeared to not be together. The first was a filly who appeared to be Magdelan's daughter. The other was a stallion who was shedding his winter coat. The filly adressed him, saying her name was Miriam. The dun was about to tell her his name when the stallion introduced himself so he waited. The stallion said he liked to be called Storyteller."It is nice to meet you. I'm Thunder." The large quarter horse looked between the three horses and wondered how the stallion was connected to Magdelan. He assumed the stallion was a past lover, but he would take no offense to that. Even now the stallion wasn't sure how loyal he was to the beautiful paint mare. The stallion looked over the three horses one more time and then asked what was on his mind. "How do you all know each other?"

Miriam was relieved her mother was happy to see her. It had been a long time since the two had seen each other. She was a little surprised to see her mother's very swollen belly. She eyes the two stallions wondering which one was responsible. The old ratty looking stallion looks somehow familiar but she is sure she had never met him. She looks back at her mother. "I am doing well, Mother. I see you have been...well I hope you are doing well." She pauses and looks at the stallions. When her mother addressed Storyteller she wonders what the old stallion would have to say. Her attention is brought to the other stallion who introduces himself as Thunder. When he speaks again she wonders the same thing.

Storyteller eyes the small group. He doesn't put two and two together to realize the filly is his. He just assumes that little encounter he had with Magdelan was nothing. He smiles at the mare. "I am fairing well, I suppose. I see you are doing well." He looks over at the other stallion who introduces himself as Thunder. He shrugs when he speaks again. "I stopped to talk with Magdelan once. We spent a little time together. But I rarely ever stay in one place long. And you? Are you responsible for that?" He nods his head to the mare's swollen belly. He finds the filly staring at him. He eyes her and wonders why she is so intent on staring at him. He smiles at her. "Young lady you can continue to stare but I assure you I won't get any uglier. I always look like this." He chuckles.

Miriam is embarassed when the old rogue catches her staring. She doesn't know why she is drawn to him. "Sorry. I didn't mean to offend you." She says quietly and then takes a few steps to her mother and stands beside her. She wasn't going to let her mother out of her sight now. She looks at the ground to wiat for the adults to speak.

She was a bit put off by what her filly had to say but she let it slip her mind and smiled at Miriam. Her black and white tail flicked at her hocks and flipped at her rump. The night sky was lit up with stars and the two moons. She couldn't believe that she was actually here with them, her once long lost family was now back together. Her head turned back to Thunder as she was now ready to voice an answer for him. "Well, Storyteller was my old mate. And Miriam came out of that relationship, dearrie." Her brown eyes twinkled at the handsome stallion who had sired her foal that was becoming more and more active inside her.

Her gaze moved to the now talking Storyteller. Her tail swished angrily at her side as she listened to his comment about her baby inside her. It was not a 'that' it was a living being inside of her. She wouldn't have taken offense to his comment if the hormones weren't getting to her, but they were. "Yes, he is responsible for my pregnancy, and I would ask as you address it as so and not 'that'." Her tongue hissed in her mouth as she traced over the stallion. But after a few moments of saying the terrible thing she stepped back in grief as she noticed what she had just said. "I'm so sorry, I have no idea what came over me." She said as a wave of nausea swept over her, her head was spinning as she fell with a thud to the ground. Her mind was groggy as she tried to awake herself, but all was hopeless.

Thunder just listened to the conversation for a few moments. He wasn't surprised that Storyteller and Magdelan had that kind of past and the filly standing between them was a product of that meeting. Storyteller adressed him, but before he could speak Magdelan had already spoken for him. He found himself nodding his head. Magdelan's tongue became more course the more she spoke. Something was getting to her. The large dun stallion stepped toward her. She began apologizing, but her legs appeared to give out from under her. The mare fell and Thunder instantly moved forward. What was going on? "Mag? Magdelan?!" The stallion had never seen a horse go down like the mare had. She appeared to have fallen asleep or passed out? Could horses pass out? The stallion didn't know. The looked up at Meriam and Storyteller for help. Thunder could tell that the other stallion was older and had seen a great amount more than he had.

The young filly's ears were against her skull after the old stallion had spoken to her mother. She looks at the ground then back at her mother. Her mouth falls open when she speaks. This dirty old rogue was her...father. She looks at the stallion then back at her mother again. "Mother, what did you just say? He's my father..." She looks at the ground. How could her mother keep that from her. She hears her mother speak some more words. A bit of anger comes forth and she looks up again. She takes a step towards her mother who suddenly changes moods. Then all goes to bad when her mother collapses on the ground. "Mother!!" She pushes past Thunder and lowers her muzzle to her mother's shoulder. She gently nudges her. "Please wake up." Tears form in the filly's eyes.

Storyteller is surprised by Magdelan's words. He looks at the filly whose eyes are boring into him. She seems alarmed by the facts. He merely chuckles. "It appears so dear. I'm really not so awful." His eyes travel back to Magdelan who seems annoyed by his earlier comment. He only chuckles again. His blackish tail slaps against his dark curly hide. She then pauses and apologizes for her words and then appears to get sick. Her legs wobble and next thing she is on the ground passed out. He is concerned for her. He takes a step towards her but is beaten there by his daughter. Thunder's worried voice breaks through Miriam's sobbing words. He only stands there looking at the other two. He was at a loss as to what to do.

Miriam is suddenly angry at the two stallions standing there dumbfounded. She looks at them angrily. "Well, aren't you two going to help. Do something. Don't just stand there." Her voice becomes more and more high pitched as she speaks. Tears burn her eyes. She lowers her head back to her mother's shoulder as she nuzzles her again. She is worried for her.

Her mind was numb, as if her body had givin' way to her current state. Her breaths were long, almost to long to even be considered a breath. Her eyes wheels around in her head and barely caught a glimpse of the worried equines before her eyes snaped shut again. A floating feeling over to her as she felt a nudge on her right shoulder before fading back to not being able to feel her body.

Her dark lobes twitched and rotated as she began to hear again, but she just couldn't get her body to wake up. "MIRIAM, I'M HERE BABY!" Her mind screamed hoping to somehow reach the filly, but noting but a twitch came to her lips. She was once again in control of her breathing, her nose twitched as the smell of fear over took it. Her eyes rolled in her head but she couldn't open her eyes. She didn't know what was wrong.

Thunder didn't know what to do. He knew nothing about mares or how to help one who had just gone down. Miriam was screaming and then turned on the dun stallion and her father. Thunder just shook his head at the filly. He was sure his eyes were wider than usual He looked toward Storyteller to see if he knew what was going on. The stallion was no help. Thunder watched the mare carefully. He saw her muzzle twitch and moved forward, lowering his muzzle to hers and breathing in her breath. He nudged her gently with his upper lip. Something was wrong with her, but he couldn't understand what it was. He had never seen anything like it happen before.

Miriam was frantic. Her mother seemed to not respond to anything. She was about to lose her mother. Looking at the two stallion again she silently pleads for help. It seemed for a moment her mother responded but went back to nothing.

Storyteller merely stood silently as he watched his daughter become more and more frantic. Screaming and carrying on wasn't helping Magdelan. He sighs. "Miriam calm down. Ranting and raving isn't going to help her." His voice is low and calm. But he is concerned for the mare. Miriam stares angrily at her father. Seh had only known about him for minutes and he has the nerve to tell her to do anything. Snorting she walks off a few feet from the stallions and her stricken mother. She just cries hoping everything will be alright.

As the mare laid there for several moments not able to move her body or control her thoughts, she suddenly began to flick her tail and after several more moments she was able to open her eyes and look up at the 2 stallions that looked over her. Her head rose to see if she could find her beloved daughter. But before she could have a good look around dizziness took her over so she laid her head back down. "Hello." Her words flowed through her lips as she laid there talking. She wanted to say so much more, but it took all of her to just say that one word.

The stallion nodded his head at Storyteller's words. He didn't know what else to say. They didn't know what was going on and until they did there was no way of knowing what to do. It was best to handle the situation calmly. Thunder looked down at Magdelan and saw that her tail was moving. He lowered his head slightly and looked at her eyes. They opened and she looked up at him and Storyteller. "Hello yourself. Are you in labor?" That was probably a very stupid question, but the stallion knew nothing about foaling. He had never seen it. He really didn't know what happened. As far as he knew the mares went to the quarry and requested foals of the gender and color that they wanted and the foal just came to be.

Miriam watched as her mother struggled to get up. All she said was hello. She frowned and looked helplessly at the stallions again. Her eyes lingering on her father. She still couldn't believe that the old raggedy rogue was her father. She listens as the other stallion speaks to her mother. She stays by her side.

Storyteller watches the entire scene. He sighs. "Well, I suppose now is as good a time as any to say my goodbye." He looks down at Magdelan. "Good luck I hope you get well soon." He smiles a slight smile and starts to walk off. He turns to Miriam. "It was good to meet you." He continues walking away.

Miriam stomps her foot. "Thats it. You coward get back here and at least help her." She snorts and glares at the departing rogue. She turns back to her mother and nuzzles her helping her to get up if she can. She would stay by her side to the Quarry and then help her. She hopes the other stallion has the sense to stay and help. Good riddance she thought about her father.

Her body laid on the ground as she tried to look up at the two. Her breaths were heavy as her legs twitched and tingled. She opened her mouth to say something to storyteller before he left but nothing came out. She kicked and wriggled on the ground trying to get up but all she could do was get herself up into the siting position. Her ears laid flat back on her neck. This was irritating her. She could hardly move and talk. She looked up at the two and pleaded for help with her brown eyes.

Miriam watches helplessly as her mother struggles to get to her feet. She was angry at the ugly old rogue that was her father and the other stallion was no use. She lowers her muzzle as her mother finally manages an upright position. "Nice and slow mother. You can do it." She looks at the remaining stallion. She tries to plead with him for help. Something would have to happen. She was afraid she was going to lose her mother and new sibling all at once here.

Thunder simply nodded to the old rogue. He had no obligations to stay and the dun held nothing against him. His eyes turned to Magdelan once more. He lowered his head to her cheek and gently nuzzled her. He moved back a little bit as she struggled. "Yes, take it easy." The stallion said, agreeing with the filly. He nudged Magdelan gently and tried to help her to her feet. He had never seen anyone fall like she had. She was injured and he didn't know how badly. He knew nothing of medicine or such things. He hoped that Magdelan would be able to get up and that their unborn child wasn't hurt in the process of her fall. He nudged her gently again with his lips.
