Posts: 43 Group: Kormadians Member #211 Joined: Jun 13, 2012	The chestnut paint mare had been wandering around for what felt like ages. Her tired legs led her to a place she was not used to. Sighing softly to herself, she bent her head towards the ground and started to pull at the grass beneath her feet. Her ears swiveled on her head, listening to anything that could cause her harm. Velvet had been quite jumpy since she left her home herd. She was beginning to wonder if this had been a good idea. Velvet had been following a star that rose early in the evening and was the last to fade in the morning light. It had led her to this strange place. Her only hope was that there might be someone around to help and guide her to a new home.

Although he was quite old he still knew how to strut his stuff. And he may have seemed old, when he told others his age, but just in general his personality was quite young. His brown eyes searched the grounds, but just as he was about to look in another area, a beautiful paint mare struck him. She was eating grass, this was strange to him, barely any mares in the homeless were calm enough to eat. A handsome chuckle escaped his smirking lips. He gingerly walked up to the mare and cleared his throat. "Hello Ma'am, I am Exseus of Bracken Bracken. Might I ask what a beautiful mare like yourself is doing all alone in this frozen place?" As his deep voice belted out of his throat he bowed down in front of the mare. He stood back up to his full 16.1 hands and looked down at the mare with a smile on his face.

Lifting her head, her blue and brown eyes stared back in wonder as the massive stallion bowed and finally stood. He was much bigger than the horses she knew before her wanderings brought her here. He towered over her small frame of only 14.3h. Swishing her tail in annoyance at being snuck up on, she answered the stallion in a light sweet voice. "Hello there.. I got lost and followed the bright star in the sky. It led me here. I am Velvet. There is also not much to eat." The last part she stated in a more annoyed tone. There was not much on the ground but she managed to nibble something out of the ground. Bone dry brown grass. Yum.

He was startled by this, she didn't seem like that type of mare. Their was a hint a annoyance in her voice, his ears flug back on his neck but he fourced them up and cast a smile on his face. She should be greatful that a stallion came to see her. How greedy of her. He shook these negative thoughts from his head. No, he'd just met her. He could judge her, that would be rude of him. "Ah, Velvet, that's a beautiful name. It isa pleasure to meet you. I have no herd and as of this moment, I'm single, mate-less. I can't promise the postition of lead mare, but I can promise that you may have foals, if you want, whenever you want." He flashed a handsome grin at the mare. She was so beautiful. Too bad his heart was already sold to a difrent mare.

Shaking her head to clear her thoughts she listened closely to what Exseus said. She watched him closely with her brown and blue eyes, hoping not to disturb the stallion further. "Thank you. How can a stallion of your stature have no herd? I would love to join you." This was odd for such a handsome stallion to have no herd. She could only wonder why the reason for that was.

His heard left him, completely left him. He turned his attention back to the mare. "Before I take you away to my home, can I ask to know a little about you?" His questionable but gentle. Questions raced through her head but she pushed them aside as she heard his next question. "Heh. A little about me? Well what would you like to know? I know I'm small for my kind but that does not stop me.." She halted her words, fearing that she would start babbling nonsense off and scare Exseus away. Then she would be left here in this frozen place. Her father warned her that her tongue would get the better of her one day and well she did not want to ruin that one day. She stared sheepishly at the ground.

I already had bulit the perfect herd, and the storm hit and scattered the herd. But I had done nothing to prepare for it. And after it I found everyone but then they all left me. Because I was so stupid. And I knew about it days before hand, but I did nothing." The anger flared up in his eyes but he put out the fire before he unleashed it on the inecent mare. He brought his eyes down to her level. "But now I'm wiser and am ready to start a new family. You believe me don't you?" His mahogany eyes were serious. He shook it from them though, "I think I have the general information about you. Are you ready to leave?" He chuckled at the end of his sentence. I can't wait to show you my home. It's wonderful. And it's getting dark so we really need to be leaving.

She may be young but she knew she could be stupid when she wanted to be or not be. Flicking her ears at the anger that shot through his eyes, she shifted in not quite fear but a general respect. She cocked her head some as he shook his own massive head, clearing the anger from his eyes. "Yes I am ready. And is there something that I should fear in the darkness?? Her curiosity got the better of her as she walked towards Exseus. She stopped short of him, waiting for him to show her the way.
