She hated it. Absolutely hate it. This lonely land for the wanting of homes was not a place she wished to be. Her Arabian-like head looked out over the sad mares awaiting their fates. Her two year old daughter stands a few feet away looking in the same direction of her mother. The filly looks at her mother and sighs. She isn't exactly thrilled to be here either. But she trusts her mother to have made the right decision. Zelda sighs and motions her black socked legs forward.

They are a lovely pair. Zelda is half-Arabian and it shows. Her elegant walk the way she holds her neck. But upon closer inspection one can see she is not a full blooded Arabian. Her mother Banker Pony blood shows through. Still her sooty buckskin coat stands out among the others. Her equally flashy daughter will make heads turn in time. The filly is coming along nicely in her dark palomino coat. Very little of her screams Arabian and she looks more mustang than anything. But attractive nonetheless.

Zelda comes to a stop beside a stream. Fallen leaves make the bank a little slippery and she almost plunges into the icy water. She lowers her head to take a quick drink before carefully navigating herself back onto solid ground. Her daughter lets out an alarmed whinny. But Zelda doesn't seem the least bit shaken. Zelda nudges her daughter than wanders forward towards an open expanse of the Homeless Grounds. She wanted to get this over with already. Abigail follows suit behind her mother and decides to lower her head to begin grazing on the brown bitter grass. The elder mare decides to remain vigilant and keep a look out for stallions.

The Arabesque stallion wandered slowly throughout the grounds of the Homeless. His bright optics glimmered in the sunlight, scanning the l passing landscape for a mare to speak with. Though he was young, the ivory stallion's body was lithe and trained. His rose-striped pelt glided over what taut muscles lay below. He was a handsome thing. Once again, while he had decided to travel to Homeless again, the brindle had left his young son in Holy Track. Judah, he felt, was old enough to be able to survive a day or two on his own while Thames went in search of mares. Eventually he came upon the female pair. The mare was a sooty buckskin, legs wrapped in a dark shade of black. The filly looked to be a dark sort of palomino. His gray lips pulled back into a smile as he approached, stopping a few respectable feet away in front of them. "Hello, I'm Thames. Can I ask after your names?" He looks back and forth from the filly to the mare, a gentle smile on his lips.

Zelda keeps her eyes fixed on the land in front of her. It seems no stallions are interested in approaching. Who would want another stallion's child? True she had a filly. Fillies were easier to accept than colts. But she knew there had to be stallions kind enough to take in mares with foals. Her mother had had that same luck. After her father disappeared another stallion had taken them in. For the life of her Zelda could not remember that stallion's name...nor did she care to.

Her dark tail slaps against her sooty looking hide. No flies are around on account of the cool weather. But it was a force of habit. She was slightly nervous and stood as a barrier between any approaching stallion and her daughter. She eyed a handsome grey stallion approaching her. He appeared to be part-Arabian like she. She would admit she had a thing for Arabians. They reminded her of her father. How she missed him. Abigail raises her head from the dry grass and eyes the stallion approaching them.

When the stallion stops and speaks Zelda smiles a little. This stallion seemed alright. She would give him the benefit of a doubt and answer him. "You can ask our names, kind sir." She chuckles lightly. "My name is Zelda and this is my daughter Abigail." Abigail steps out from behind her mother and eyes Thames. She was a little afriad of being away from her father's land. She would miss him.

"Are you here to try and take us home with you? Your not going to do that and then just leave like my father are you?" The fillie's tone is a little harsh which warrents a strong snort and stern glare from her mother. Zelda turns back to Thames. "Sorry about that. I thought I taught her manners." Still glaring at her daughter she turns away from her and towards the stallion. Her expression lightens up. "So, tell us a little about yourself Thames." She shifts her legs and awaits for him to answer her. Abigail flattens her ears at her mother's words and walks away a few feet to sulk. She watches the other two.

Thames smiled as the mare spoke to him. It was nice to know that, so far, this mare had an overall good attitude about things. "Hello, Zelda and little Abigail." He throws a gentle smile in the filly's direction before the little girl begins to speak to him. A little surprised at the young female's words, Thames merely nods at what Zelda says, trying to let the mare know that it was alright for her daughter to ask him such things. The Arabian Hybrid stallion lowered his dove gray face to Abigail's level and speaks reassuringly. "I'm not necessarily trying to bring the both of you home, Abigail. But, should your mother decide that she would allow me to bring the both of you to my home, then we would all go back there, yes. If you and your mother come back home with me, I promise you I would never leave you." The brindle's voice was full of emotion as he spoke to the filly. He knew that his mother had gone through the same thing with the fathers of his older siblings. The first had come and gone through his gray dam's life for the better part of five years. He couldn't ever imagine putting any of his mares or children through that pain. He touched his gray muzzle gently, but briefly, upon the filly's forehead. Lifting his head, the rose-gray brindle's attention returns somewhat to Zelda, and a smile pulls at his lips. "It may make me sound younger than I am, but I remember feeling the same way that Abigail does. My father disappeared when I was younger, but he made a return this past year. I'm lucky that I was spared the trials of such heartbreak that my mother, sisters, and brother went through." The brindle pauses to smile briefly before he launches into speech again. "But I live in Holy Track in the Loftlands with another mare called Athena and my son Judah. His mother is wandering, but I trust that she will return. I hold alliances with my father and a few brothers in the surrounding territories, and I keep tabs on the activity there. I hope to have a closely-knit herd in the future. Is there anything else you would like to know?"

Zelda was a little relieved that Thames didn't seem the least bit offended by her daughter's words. She stands patiently as the stallion levels his gaze at her daughter and speaks. Abigail merely stares at the stallion and rolls her eyes. "That's what my father promised." She says a little bitterly and then walks a few feet away from her mother and Thames. Zelda frowns as she watches her daughter move away before turning her attention back to the handsome stallion.

Her dark ears perk forward when he speaks again. His story sounds ever so familiar. She feels herself drawn to him. Smiling slightly she nods. "It must be a regular thing. My father disappeared when I was quite young as well. My mother moved us to another land and I didn't care for the new stallion so I ran away. Luck would have it that I would find my older half-brother and my father in the Gathering. But that reunion was short lived after my father disappeared again. My heart tells me he isn't coming back. But I still have my brother." Her voice quivers a bit as she talks about her father. But perks up again when she mentions her brother. She listens as he speaks again. He sounds like a respectable stallion. She is a little relieved that he was the only one that showed up. "I think I have heard enough thank you." She pauses for a moment and looks over at her daughter who is staring off into nothing. Then turning back to Thames. "You wouldn't happen to know my brother would you? His name is Caradoc." She doesn't know why she asked but was mildly curious about the influence he had. "Anyhow I believe we are ready to find a home. I will be happy to go with you. And I promise I don't usually talk so much." She laughs happily as she awaits his next words.

even when the young filly walks away from him, disregarding what he says, the brindle stallion isn't offended. He went through that phase as a colt; every foal found its own way through the issue. A gentle sort of smile arrives on the young stallion's lips. It was good that they had something in common; granted it wasn't good that it was such a bad thing, but it was good nonetheless. When she asks if he knows her brother, Thames's pale gray lips screw into a sort of frown. "I believe I may have heard of his name a few times in my life, but I haven't had the privilege of knowing him personally. I'm sorry." He smiles and chuckles at Zelda's next bout of words. His blue eyes bright with the casual laughter. "I don't usually talk as much either, but I would be glad to escort both of you to my home in Holy Track. Abigail? The rose-riddled stallion's voice becomes more serious and slightly pleading as he looks to the filly. "Do try and give me a chance, love? I'm not that bad. Honest." Thames sends an encouraging smile the filly's way, and he looks to Zelda, ready to leave when she is.
