The uniquely coloured maiden had arrived early, giving her several days to build her strength and settle in to the clearing she’d chosen to deliver her foal in. The pains had started one night, somewhere around the time that Prime had set, and by dawn Cortessa was settled at the opposite end of the clearing with a colt snuggled against her side. Eager to return home as soon as possible, the Rogue hauled herself back onto her hooves. Her head is lowered to her newest son, giving him a gentle nudge to encourage him to stand. Not yet used to his gangly limbs, it took a while for the colt to stand though eagerly took a couple of steps forwards and settled to suckle from his dam. Once he had been fed and groomed once more, Cortessa carefully guided the colt through the trees and towards the shores of the Quarry, heading home to Serpents Province and back to Viral’s side.
