The painted Friesian cross entered the Dead Lake at a rather slow walk. The dove gray-splashed female was nervous as to what Omen's reaction would be to her having a filly. The filly had rather long legs, and she was painted in black and white. In a way, the newborn was an elegant-looking sort of girl. Selainer raised her head slightly, looking around the territory with her brown eyes. She was curious as to what had been happening with the herd lately, but she was rather glad that Ashlynn seemed to have stopped trying to impress Omen with her supposed allure. Omen wasn't exactly the type to take crap. Neither was the other mare that was there; Selainer's brow furrowed. Was the mare's name Aurora? With a horse shrug, the paint pushed away the thoughts and kept walking. The little filly kept at her side, and, eventually, Selainer loosed a call for Omen, the lead, or her son. She felt blessed that her first son was named heir under such a powerful stallion. Maybe she was supposed to be here after all. | ||||

The Queen of Snark (and Procrastination)
|
O M E N & A U G U R I A N The dark hued draft walked at a steady pace, going on patrols. His yearling son Augurian followed him at a steady trot. The colt had matured well, a handsome black tobiano built sturdily just like his father. He was the heir, though he seemed to not be exactly what his sire hoped for. There was something different about the colt, though Omen could not quite place what it was yet. Augurian was always calm, and rarely seemed to get angry, the total opposite of his father. But for now, the colt was doing fine, and his father had no reason to question him. A call sounded, catching both males' attention. Augurian's dark eyes brightened up, recognizing the sound of his mother's voice. Without a word, he set off the find the mare. He knew she had been pregnant, and had been patiently awaiting her return. He was eager to see his new sibling, along with his mother. He really only felt that they were his family. Omen snorted, his ears flicking back with annoyance briefly, before he set off to follow the colt. The duo came across Selainer and a black and white filly. She was a pretty little thing, though she was a bit leggy. Even though the foal was female, Omen was not disappointed at all. Augurian slowed as they got closer, and halted before his mother, giving the duo some space so not to startle his newborn sister. "Welcome home, Mother," he said, a smile forming on his pale lips. "This is my sister, right?" The dark gray brute reached them, and the colt stepped aside, giving his sire room and allowing him to examine his daughter. "Well done again, Selainer," he said, flicking his short tail against his rump. "She's good." It was hard for the stallion to give any complement, and this was the best he could come up with, or force himself to say. He had grown to respect the mare before him, seeing as she did not cause trouble in the herd as the others did. And it was hard to earn Omen's respect. |

S E L A I N E R & S E R E N A T Ahey, I just met you, and this is crazy; it's hard to look right at you baby The painted female smiled as her son trotted up to her in no time. The gentle smile remained upon her alabaster maw when Omen came close as well. "Thank you, dear. Yes, this is your little sister, Serenata." Selainer emphasized the filly's name so that Omen would hear it as well. The dove paint lowered her head in a slow nod; it wasn't the best of compliments, but she received it well. Any word of praise, no matter how minute, was good enough. The mare was pleased. The tobiano filly turned her blazed face to her sire and older brother. A small smile was on her lips. "Hello." |

Where the points don't matter!

SHOCKA&&SUMMON everything starts when we look toward the clock. feels like were movin' backwards The zebra mare walked carefully into Dead Lake's borders. They were freshly marked, so the stallion couldn't be too far. She was wary though, for she did not know how the draft would react to her. He might not remember her, but that was unlikely. She looked back at her colt, and he looked back her her with black eyes, and she stretched out her muzzle to him. He came closer to her, and they started off. "Stay close to me dear." She said quietly. The brown and black striped colt stayed close to her side, looking around the territory with big eyes. He stuck close to her though, obeying his mother. He hadn't been a problem yet, and seemed quite the gentleman. She rarely had to get onto him. He was almost a yearling now, and she would regret the moment when he left her. She knew he would have to grow up sometime though. She glanced back at him now, her brown eyes soft. They went on some more, looking for any sign of Equine life. They traveled, and she could see the lake which the land was named after. She turned away from it, not trusting of the strange temperatures of it. A call rang out across the territory, clearly calling Omen. The zebra's ears pricked, and she started off. Summon sped up too, his head even with hers. His ears were pricked, and he was excited. He knew who they were meeting, and he was eager to meet his father. They saw a group of equines up ahead. She recognized Omen, another colt, who looked a bit older then Summon, a mare and a small filly. She slowed down, and touched Summons should, telling him to slow down also. As they neared she could hear them talking, but couldn't make out the words. She was unsure what to do, and her ears twitched nervously. She softly nickered out to the group, alerting them or her presence if they hadn't already known. The pair came forward a little closer, then stopped a distance away. Shocka shifted uncomfortably where she was. She didn't want to intrude on them, but this needed to be done while she was here. |

The white faye had taken as much time as she knew omen would allow to get her body back in shape before he would see her again. She had a colt by her side who was a miniature of his father in almost every conceivable way. He followed behind obediently as his mother entered dead lake. Immediately she heard a call for Omen, and began moving in that direction. It was only minutes before she was standing beside omen, in her place as lead. She nodded to the paint she knew as selainer, and her new foal, to augurian and then to the zebra and her foal before touching her soft nose to omen's neck, if only to show her position, though his scent was relaxing to her, like a drug. Hello, dearest. The words slithered past her lips with that hint of jealousy that was always present around the other mares. This is your son, Lucifer. Say hello boy. Her voice held a neutral coldness, and would bother anyone who hadnt spent a large amount with either her or omen. She sighed before turning her attention to the other mares. Hello selainer. Your daughter is lovely. As is your son, zebra. I am Aurora, lead mare of the dead lake. What is your name? The words slipped from her lips with a mild interest before she looked at omen agian. Where is Discordia? SHe hadnt seen the filly since she left for the foaling quarry and that had been some time ago. Not that she didnt love the filly, as a mother loved her offspring, but the child was subject to her father's decisions and couldnt just wander off. Aurora sighed again and just stood there, waiting for someone to break the silence. |

O M E N & A U G U R I A N & L U C I F E R The painted colt gave his younger sister a friendly smile, and moved closer to his mother. He had missed her while she was gone. "Hello, Serenata," he said to the filly, the friendly smile still on his face. "I'm Augurian." Omen snorted, letting them have the exchange. He supposed it was necessary. Family meant little to him, however, seeing as he had murdered his own mother and had never been close with his numerous siblings, let alone many relatives. As long as he had control, he didn't care if his heir was close to his mother and siblings or not. Hoof beats sounded, and his ears flicked back to catch the noise. There were two sets, and they both stopped. Augurian turned and looked behind his father, and his dark eyes grew wide. Omen scowled, and turned to see what the big deal was. It was a zebra mare, whom he recognized as Shocka, and a draft bay colt with stripes. His eyes narrowed briefly, and his nostrils flared, taking in their scents. Yes, it was as he assumed. However, he did not get the chance to address the mare and their son, for the white bane of his existence had finally returned, toting their newest foal. The foal was, to much of his pleasure, a colt. He was built just as sturdily as his sire, with a pelt as dark as night, with no white markings save for the star on his forehead. Omen stiffened at Aurora's touch, as always. His lips pulled back into a sneer at her words, and he rolled his eyes before looking back down at the colt. "Hello, Father," the dark hued colt said, his voice clear. Omen narrowed his eyes, and snorted as Aurora proceeded to address the others. When the mare spoke to him again, his lips pulled back with a snarl. "I have not seen her since you left, my dear. I should be asking you that." The scowl returned, and he looked over at the zebra mare and colt. "Shocka. Why don't you join us." It was not a question, but rather a demand. |

S E L A I N E R & S E R E N A T Ahey, I just met you, and this is crazy; it's hard to look right at you baby The tobiano filly smiled at her older brother, nudging his shoulder shyly. She, then, turned her face to the new arrival. It surprised Selainer to see a zebra mare, for she had never seen one before. The painted female noticed how the other distanced herself and her colt from the group. When Aurora arrived, Selainer let a small smile of greeting cross her lips. She ignored the coldness that laced the white mare's tones, nodding a silent 'thank you' to the other female. The dove paint watched as Lucifer greeted Omen, and she remained quiet, knowing that the new colt might threaten Augurian's position as heir. Not being the vindictive, conniving type, Selainer thought not of how to dispose of the dark-hued colt. It was Omen's decision of who to name heir, and she couldn't trifle it. His word was final. Selainer nuzzled her son's cheek, lipping at his mane briefly before she pulled away. |

The zebra watched silently as everyone spoke with each other. She didn't mind not being involved, she wasn't apart of the herd, and was just visiting here. Summon stood beside her, his ears perked towards the group. He glanced up at his mother, his eyes pleading. She smiled down at him, but shook her head slightly to him. He looked back at them, and watched just as silently as his mother. A white mare joined the the others, and she watched as she and Omen came in contacted. Her ears pricked when the mare addressed her. The white mare, now know to Shocka as Aurora, asked her name. Her tone was cold, and the zebra wasn't happy with it, but she knew this was the land for Darks. "Shocka." She said, her voice strong, but not cold like the white mares had been. Omen spoke to the mare too, ordering her to come closer. Her ears flickered back. She wasn't fond of being ordered around, part of the reason she was a rouge, but she obeyed the draft. She neared them, and Summon trotted beside her. She glanced down at him as them walked. His feelings were muddled, but he was excited to finally meet his father. He noticed the other colt too, one that looked a bit older then him, and two very young ones. He glanced up at his mother again, and slowed down a bit. Shocka stopped when they were a few feet away. She nodded a greeting to everyone, and waited for Omen to address her again.
