Seller of Churros
|
Mother and daughter lie side by side, upon the dew tipped ground in the beginning hours of the morning. The child, a similar hue and color to her mother, still remained as sleep. Iofiel was troubled and knew that once the set rose high enough to illuminate the land with enough light for her newborn to see, they must make their way to the Province. She would have to face Viral, and be handed her sentence. Truth be told, she had not meant to conceive another child, nor a child that was not the chestnut's. But, she had found her former self when traveling, and knew deep in her heart that even a scent from another stallion would have the chestnut in arms. She gently reached over and lightly ran her speckled muzzle down her daughter's sleeping form. The birthing had been hard and extraneous. She was a much bigger foal, than Otheos or Israefel, but she was alive. She had been worried though. The child seemed to enjoy taking her time in grasping the basic principles of life. Slow to eat, to stand, to walk, everything had been so slow. But, maybe it was because Iofiel felt a fear that Viral will try and go after Roksana, upon seeing her. She continued to stroke her daughter for a few moments longer before pulling away. She spoke softly, to no one but herself, it was more of a way to help calm her fears for the future. "Well little one, in a few hours you will be awake, and I will lead you to a place that will never be a welcoming home for you. Your father is a rogue and cannot lay claim, but the stallion you will lay eyes upon was my former lover and captor. Whatever he may do to you, or to me, he does it because he will be furious with me. But, I promise he will not harm you in anyway. He will have to kill me, first." She falls quiet and resumes gently stocking her newborn child. She is afraid, but for once she feels a connection to motherhood. She finally feels something. |
