The dark hued brute stalked proudly into the land he had finally won as his own. The battle had been so easy. He had wiped the floor with the idiot stallion who was not worthy to own the Dead Lake. His blood lust had been sated, though only momentarily. Soon he would have to leave to quench his thirst. But first he had to organize what herd he had gathered in the meantime. The draft's injuries were minor, and would heal quickly. And then he would be able to follow through with his plan. He smirked to himself, already imagining the death and bloodshed that would ensue. The lines were already so thin. It would not take much to start the war. And Omen would start it himself if he couldn't help it. He would give the Darks a real reason to fear him, if they already didn't have a reason enough.

He headed for the giant lake that gave the territory its name. The land was otherwise a barren waste, except for the vegetation that grew along the lake, and a few meager patches of grass here and there. He already loved the place; it was so much different than Kelpie's Hideaway, his old home, and he had wanted that. The swamp had been nice, but he needed a real land if he was going to make a name for himself. The scarred stallion moved at a swift trot, his massive hooves making small thudding sounds against the dry, cracked earth as he moved. He finally reached the lake.

Omen slowed, and halted at the edge of the body of water. He lowered his head and drank, quenching his thirst. He lifted his head, standing to his full height. He let out a deep bugle, calling all mares he had sent here to him. There were not many, but that was about to change. He smirked to himself, awaiting the females' arrival. It had only just begun.

OOC: this is for what mares Omen has claimed, and if you have a mare who would like to join the herd and the cause, just post her here! ^^

The dove gray painted mare entered the Dead Lake with her young son in tow, ignoring the sight of its barren grounds. Surely Omen wouldn't have picked a place where he couldn't raise a herd. The smell of the draft male kept the mare going, along with the scent of water. As the two trotted along, the call from the stallion bugled, echoing across the empty land. Her auds only flicked in response. Selainer knew better than to show emotions to a stag when she barely knew him. Augurian trotted along at his dam's side, painted in black and white; he was a handsome young thing. As they approached, the mare and foal slowly came to a halt a few yards away from the larger male. Her elegant face elevated a few scant degrees, remeniscient of her sire's Friesian breeding. Her voice was respectful, but not out of fright of the male. "Omen, this is Augurian, our son." Selainer was apprehensive of the draft male; she didn't know how he reacted around children, but she wouldn't even let him think of striking her or their son. Even though she hadn't grown up in the herd atmosphere, she knew of no herd where striking a female or foal was acceptable.

The dark bay tovero mare moved boldly into the territory. Her eyes glittered like gems with pure unfeigned malice. She smirked at the land around her. It was perfect the desolateness of the place and the evil was tangible in the air. She broke into a smooth even canter tossing her head and bi-colored mane. Ashlyn blinked, her long thick lashes framing her beautifully malicious sparkling green eyes, as she came to a sliding stop. She inhaled a scent that made her blood boil in excitement and her hair go on end. A large stallion had been by here and if the place had anything to say about the owner, he was just her type of stud. Diverting from her original path the gorgeous green eyed mare followed the path that the brute had take until she reach a large lake that look devoid of life. A little smirk appeared flashing across her features. As she spotted the stallion she grew even more excited, he looked like the ideal dark stallion one that would eventually rule the world and that is what she was after. Ashlyn Released a soft melodic call to the stallion that was by no means sweet and cantered slowly towards him.

Somewhere in Ashlyns brain she registered that there was another mare present with a son, who could only be the stallions in front of her. She slunk sexily around the big stallion to face him, her eyes gleamed of malicious fun and dark promises. "Hello..." she said in a silky voice drawing out the word. "My name is Ashlyn." Her emerald green eyes attempted eye contact before continuing. "I must request that you let me join your herd." She told him a smirk apparent on her face loving the little games she played. She stood quietly even demurely some would say who did not know her, as she waited for the stallion to respond.

The pale mare was having a turbulent few months. She had found omen, or rather he had found her. She had missed the dark hued stallion, oh how god she had missed him. He was the one brute who could hold her heart, not that he knew. She only wished he was capable of that same love. Two fillies followed on either side of her, one a child of omen, the other a child of his brother. Both could pass for his daughters, one frail and petite like her mother, the other heavy set and sturdy like her sire. As she entered their home, she heard his call. Neither filly shied at the sound, but Mandalay picked up her pace, excited to see the stallion she thought was her father, followed by her newborn sister Discordia. Aurora picked up her pace as well as they shifted their direction towards the lake at the center of the territory. By the time they arrived, there were already two painted mares there, one with a colt by her side. She flicked her ears back in jealousy and nickered to the fillies, and all of them set off at a gallop, sliding to a stop at the right side of Omen. Her ears were still pinned against her head as she looked at the mares, her eyes filled with anger and frustration. She was gone for a few days and already the territory was infested. She arrived just in time to hear the bay tovero speak and she couldnt help but intervene. "I suggest that you ask first, miss Ashlyn. Requests dont fly to well here. Unless youre requesting a child. As for your manipulations, Im sure either Omen or myself would be more than happy to tear that smirk right off your face. Madame, Your son is lovely. What is his name? Oh my, where are my manners. I am Aurora, lead mare beside Omen. And these are our daughters, Mandalay and Discordia." One ear remained pinned against her skull, but the other lifted up just enough to hear the others speak. She felt immediate dislike for this Ashlyn, but the unknown femme could hold promise. She was pretty enough. Her ears moved forward as she turned towards Omen, a smile on her face. "Its good to see you again, my love. you've been very busy it seems." She moved close to him, careful not to touch him. Her heart yearned for him to touch her. She stood by his side and waited for someone to speak.

The painted foal had been following her mom about after she had returned, but not alone. She enjoyed playing with the bay filly, but something was off about her. She was different. When the arrived at the herd meeting, there was yet another foal. She approached the colt, stopping a few yards away and nickering to him. "Hello. My name is Mandalay. Whats youre name?" She stood there for a few moments till her mother was done speaking, and then moved closer to omen, careful not to get too close to him again. She had learned that lesson all to well. "Hello father. I havent seen you around lately. At least not since mother left." She stood stock still as she waited for an adult to respond.

The dark gray brute was pleased that he did not have to wait very long for the first to arrive. It was Selainer, the dove gray painted draft mare that he had met and conceived a foal with. Her arrival meant he would not have to go searching for her and their offspring, and have to possibly battle someone---not that he minded. It spared him time, made his life easier. He was even more pleased to see that the dark and cream colored foal by her side was of the male gender. He had a heir now, which he needed. All his other sons, especially that dratted Hyperion, were all grown up and no longer of use to him other than spreading the bloodline. Things are going well for you, eh? said Yaakov with a chuckle. Omen snorted, and kept silent as for the mare and foal had reached him. The draft mare lifted her head to look at him, and his dark eyes met hers steadily. "Omen, this is Augurian, our son."

The painted colt mimicked his mother, boldly meeting his father's gaze. "Hello, Father." If the foal had been older, the stallion might have seen it as a challenge, or just rebellious behavior, but he was still so young. So the brute merely narrowed his eyes at the boy. That kid's gonna be a trouble maker for sure, said Daray. You might want to keep an eye on him. Omen sneered at the voice, and rolled his eyes. He doubted that. His adult sons were more of a threat than this newborn colt. "Good work, Selainer," he said, finally speaking, his voice deep and smooth. "If my queen has not born me a son, he shall be heir." Barely had be spoken these words when an unfamiliar call sounded, and yet another mare joined them. She was a bay tovero with green eyes; she was decent, he supposed. But when she slunk around him, his ears flicked back, and his lip curled to bear his yellow teeth.

Augurian stayed by his mother's side, giving the strange mare the darkest glare. She was up to something, he could tell. "Hello..." She drawled out the word, and the colt's ears flicked back, copying his father. "My name is Ashlyn." The draft brute gave her the most terrifying glare when she dared to meet his gaze. "I must request that you let me join your herd." She then smirked, which only made him sneer. A deep chuckle escaped his throat. Oh, how foolish this female was. But before he could even respond, the sound of hoof beats caught his attention. The pale beauty that was his queen, his empress, Aurora, halted on his right side, where she belonged in herd meetings such as this. Mandalay, the scum filly that believed he was her father, was still with her, along with a blood bay filly obviously of draft blood. He was immediately disappointed, but did not have time to dive into the disappointment for his empress spoke. The mare looked very agitated.

"I suggest that you ask first, miss Ashlyn. Requests don't fly to well here. Unless you're requesting a child. As for your manipulations, I'm sure either Omen or myself would be more than happy to tear that smirk right off your face. Madame, your son is lovely. What is his name? Oh my, where are my manners. I am Aurora, lead mare beside Omen. And these are our daughters, Mandalay and Discordia." So the bay filly was named Discordia. She would have to do. But right now he needed to deal with this mare. "Aurora's right. I don't appreciate your lame attempt to 'seduce' me, mare. Actions like that will get you hurt around here. If you desire to join me so badly, I suggest you modify your behavior. My name is Omen, as Aurora has mentioned, and you best remember it sweetheart, along with your place. Next time I won't hesitate in punishing you." His words were like ice, menacing. His response triggered interest in Discordia, who was very much paying attention.

Now his queen spoke again, turning her head to look at him. "It's good to see you again, my love. You've been very busy it seems." His dark lips twisted into a smirk, and he chuckled a little more. It agitated him slightly by what she called it, but he knew that he had a different power over her than anyone else. He turned his cranium towards her. "Hm, yes. This is merely the beginning of our empire, darling." He reached down, brushing his maw against her cheek in a gesture unfamiliar to him, but one he had seen before. He believed it was a sign of affection, and he was merely doing this to calm down Aurora's agitation. Oh, Omen, why can't you show her love and really mean it? Meora sighed, and he could tell she was shaking her head. He promptly ignored her.

Discordia followed her older sister to where Augurian stood. The colt turned to look at the duo when the older filly nickered. "Hello. My name is Mandalay. Whats your name?" The bay draft filly let her sister speak, preferring to stay silent. That was one way she was odd. But Discordia saw nothing wrong with her silence. She just thought her sister was too hyper. "I'm Augurian," he said in response to her question. He turned his head to the younger filly. "And you're Discordia, then?" She nodded. Mandalay then walked up to Omen. The stallion looked down at the foal. "Hello Father. I haven't seen you around lately. At least not since mother left." Her statement opened up the subject of the battle he had just returned from. It was all turning out perfectly.

"That's because I just returned from a battle, Mandalay," he said. "I was victorious, of course. This land is now officially ours. And I have a few announcements to make." He paused. Augurian and Discordia at least showed interest. "First of all, I'm confirming that Aurora is my empress. You are to respect her as you are to respect me. She has as much authority to punish you as a do. Second, Augurian shall be heir, at least until Aurora bears a colt. Even then I may keep him heir. It depends on how he proves himself. Third, all fillies born are to be used for trading purposes with allies. And I will not tolerate your complaints. Every filly born is to be kept alive. If I discover any foal has been murdered without my permission, the consequences will be severe." He put emphasis on the last word, and looked every single mare in the eye before continuing. "As to the politics of the Darks, we are neither on Cian's side, Friction's side, and most definitely not Viral's. We stand on our own. Our main goal to to usurp Viral, but we must keep an eye on everyone." He paused one more time. "That is all."

Selainer let a small smile, in acknowledgement of the stallion's words, pull at her lips for a moment before smoothing it away. The young mare watched the tovero mare that had approached with malicious eyes. Who was she to slink in like this? Her name was announced, Ashlyn. The dove and cream mare stood evenly, almost glaring at the seducer. But another mare arrived, coming to Omen's right side. She spoke first to Ashlyn, and then herself. Selainer smiled slightly and nodded at the comment, she was about to speak before Omen spoke. The dove paint flicked her ears back at what he said, not commenting or jumping into the conversation. Then, Selainer watched the exchange between Omen and Aurora, his part looking almost faux to her. Selainer almost smiled at the exchange between Augurian and the two fillies. He was well-spoken at his age; she could proud of him. When Omen spoke yet again, Selainer turned to look at him instead of her son. So her son was heir; that was good. The whole deal about trading fillies outside of the herd bothered her slightly, but she did not have a girl-child as of yet. So, for now, she didn't have anything to worry about. The mare turned her head slightly to look towards Aurora, and she spoke first to Omen, then to her. "Thank you for giving him a position, Omen," she looked to Aurora. "I'm Selainer, by the way."

Ashlyn did not let the mare have the satisfaction of seeing the smile slip off her face. Ashlyn's green eyes glinted like a snake she did take a few steps backwards seeing and sensing that the stallion was not responding according to plan, but Ashlyn was not one to follow plans anyway, what was the point? something always went wrong no matter how well you planned it out. Her green eyes hardened almost imperceptibly. She lowered her head and bowed deeply to the queen. I am so sorry, I did not understand that their was a difference between a request to join and asking to join. Ashlyn said quietly. Raising her head she stood up straight and looked at the stallion. "I am apologies for my..." she paused almost thoughtfully "forward nature and 'lame attempt'" she said quoting him "to seduce you. I will make sure to remember your advice... Omen." but Ashlyn was not sorry at all and a flash through her eye expressed that though it was gone so quickly no one saw fore she still had her head turned down. Raising her head, wind gently blowing her two toned mane over her neck. "Omen may i please be allowed to join your herd." She said in a simple voice. She was trying hard to take the bite out of her words she liked neither mare and that was not a good sign, she needed alliances with in the group and having 2 enemies when she was not even sure if she would be admitted was not a good idea.

The white femme was furious by this point. THis bay painted mare was getting on her nerves with her insolence. She desperately wanted to take matters into her own hand and beat this femme to a sensless pulp. But then, that was Omen's job, unless he commanded her to do so. She returned his feigned gesture of affection and smiled at him, if only to keep up appearances. She did love Omen, with all her heart. But she couldnt count on him loving her. She knew that making her Queen was probably the closest thing he would ever do to loving her. It is lovely to meet you Selainer. I am sure we will be good friends. Omen, my dearest, Ive heard word of Khrysor. He lives close by, in Wraiths Gorge. But i have unfortunate news. He has allied himself with Viral. But he has 4 lovely daughters. Perhaps if we made him a deal he would join us instead? Perhaps giving him this Ashlyn creature. She glared at the over-confident mare with enough venom to kill an army. As for you, If you give my lord any trouble I will take care of you myself, dear little Ashlyn. I dont think you have to stretch your mind to see that I. Dont. Like. You. Her voice was filled with a dark, sinister, icy cold venom that made at least one of her children look at her in confusion, for they had never heard her speak in such evil tones. She moved closer to Omen, her eyes filled with a deathly cold glare. She was about ready to kill this stupid mare.

The little black and white yearling beside the white mare was frightened by her mother's tone, and moved to the opposite side of Omen, and moved back and forth nervously, pawing at the ground, glaring at the equine who was upsetting everything she had come to know. Father, why is Mother so angry? Can Agurian, Discordia and I go play? I think it would be better for them to be away from such malice. Her voice was so innocent and honest. She really didnt understand what was going on. She just wanted to get her brother and sister out of the way of a potential fight, so they wouldnt risk being injured by accident. Her motives were pure and simple. Protect those younger than her from this threat that Ashlyn had created.
