Be Respectful. Be Realistic. Be Radical. Get playing, and have fun. Thank you for coming together for one last game.

Rules violations will be handled efficiently and clearly to prevent a denigration of the game and to halt disruptions to the thread.

You will be issued 2 warnings for violations of this type; on the third, you will be ejected from the game, and your territories will be set to unoccupied.

This game is limited to 12 factions. Post to claim your faction. If a faction is unclaimed, any user may claim it by posting to the thread (but send me a PM too so I can update this post). First come, first serve.

Pictures are required.

Do not change the map on your own. Send adjustments to a GM. "Map tampering" will be deemed an illegal move.

NOBODY is allowed to attack UN occupied nations unless they have direct permission from a GM. (Unless they are sending reinforcments or are part of the attacking UN force or it is a DMZ zone)

You start off with 1 nation.

Invade any nation that u want to, just make it reasonable and within the bounds of reason and logic (that means China and USA cant take eachother over, South Korea and Italy, Congo and Cuba, ect....).

You may only change your country ONCE and that is before invasions begin. If you wish to change your country and it is after invasion time, too bad. (Unless you get DIRECT permision from a GM to do so, and in that case you cannot transfer any technology from one nation to another.)

Remember that this is a game. As with many games, it is not a game we play against each other. It's a game we play with each other; against ourselves.

If someone violates the rules (including picture sizes), help them out and let them know why it's against the rules. Also, report issues before they become huge problems, not after.

Those of you who played ofther EWDW games, help the newer players with rules and such.

ONLY 1 attack on a person who is offline. Period.

Remember
You can take over 1 nations per 3 posts within 12 hours.

NO NUKES. Nukes can only be used in events occasionally.

Players:
- The_Grim_Wiiper ( USA ) GM Green
- DNA ( Russia ) Dark Red
-W00kie (Germany) Blue
-ONI (Saudi Arabia) Orange
-Cipher (UK) Brown

The year is 2016. Recap of current events:

The world is on its way to recovery. In the year 2013, the eurozone crisis hit an all time high with the Greek nation being unable to get out the debt that was dragging it and the euro nations down with it. Italy and Spain nearly followed, but with the leadership of Germany and the United Kingdom joining the union, the European Union was saved. But this came at a cost. The world economy was brought down yet again, and this time it was worse. Companies closed their doors, factories shut down, hope was lost. 2013 was labeled the worst year economically since 1929. Even trade between the USA and China was affected. The world was turned upside down.

As was in the 1920s, when the economy goes bad, the crazies gain power. Nationalists, authoritarians and other extreme political parties reemerged. The budding democracies in the Middle East were mostly swept aside for radical Islamist fundamentalists throughout the region. The rule of the oligarchs in Russia tightened their stranglehold on the nation while becoming more imperialist, looking towards the former Soviet nations as potential targets for economic or military means. China started to take a more hard stance on territorial disputes and the economy, becoming the giant of the East and threatening Western and Western-allied interests in the region. As usual, the nations of Africa and South America were left to fend for themselves as they battled tribal, religious, ethnic and economic unrest.

It is 2016 now and the world is starting to recover. How will its fate be decided?

After the Congressional elections of 2014, the Democratic Party now holds a vast majority in both the House and the Senate.

Posted Image

With the Democrats controlling both Congress and the White House, new laws and regulations are now passed.

Sprawl, aka the car-based population dispersal around major cities, is now officially discouraged. Emphasis is made on constructing housing for the Millennial generation closer to the inner city so as to create more construction jobs and help reduce the carbon footprint of America.

Posted Image

Light Rail and passenger railways are given light subsidies so as to make the expansion of mass transit more profitable and possible.

Posted Image

Cold War era subsidies to farms and agribusiness are reformed. Shifting of the worst of these subsidies from big commodity crops to pay farmers to convert their operations to modern regenerative systems begins. Emphasis is put on using less damaging fertilizer and conservation of freshwater.

Posted Image

The FAA begins to re-regulate the airline business after several top companies are charged with severe price discrimination and monopolistic tendencies. Roads and bridges and infrastructure in general is revamped and worked upon across America, with new roads and highways being constructed and repaired.

Posted Image

Cutting down on carbon emissions is taken another step further. Factories are given tax-cut incentives to make their emissions less harmful while nuclear power plants begin to sprout around the nation.

Posted Image

With infrastructure, housing and agribusiness all creating more demand, the massive cash reserves Wall Street has been sitting on since 2008 starts to get invested in these new projects, pouring capital into the US economy and re-vigorating the economic prowess of the USA.

Posted Image

Tax reform begins. Capital gains taxes are increased greatly, bringing tax levels to that of the late 1940s. Medicare and Medicaid are reformed greatly so that they are now on par with European welfare models, greatly imitating the welfare programs of Sweden. Social Security is also reformed. Retirement age is increased to 66 and income is now used as a larger form of how Social Security is implemented, with retirees that make more than $50,000 a year receiving much less Social Security than those who make less.

Posted Image

*Military modernization continues. Military spending is cute by 1% while aid to foreign nations is also cut, with the money that was meant for aid to foreign nations being granted to the Department of Defense to make up for the spending cut*

The European Tragedy over, the UK faces unprecedented difficulties. Economically, Socially, and even Militarily, Great Britain has been weakened severely as many resources were spent trying to prevent the almost inevitable collapse of the European Economy. The UK was almost devestated in the 2014 referendum for Scottish independence, which was, however, defeated by a landslide.

In light of social unrest, the current British Government resigns from power. Parliament was dissolved. Elections followed. A new British Government was voted into power, being Nigel Farage from the UKIP party. One of the new Government's first moves was the withdrawal of the UK from the European Union, with a plan to form a New Commonwealth with the UK's closest allies.

A number of policies were followed.

Posted Image

With the European economic collapse reverted at the last moment, the UK now faces financial problems; unemployment is rampant and poor policies have drived many companies out of the UK or out of business altogether. Taxes on the population are lowered whilst the repealing of ridiculous legislations will enoucrage more companies to invest in the UK. Small businesses are encouraged.

The UK tax code is simplified, as well as the British welfare system; based on income levels, one may be eligible for benefits by the Government. Investments on British factories, roads and green energy increase, as do petroleum activities in the North Sea. The number of administrative staff in the Government is lowered, as they are fired, to be employed later at private firms or small businesses.

The City of London, currently the world's largest financial centre, becomes once again a magnet for corporate activity, rejuvenating the British economy with new capital. Meanwhile, investments are also made in the British Railway system, with new trains and better tracks. The London Underground has been fully modernised, with all subways in each city in the UK to follow.

Posted Image

With the rise in unemployment and deduction of wages, crime levels increase. To combat this problem, the UK ups the ante on policing. Vacancies on new constables open up across the country's police forces, in particular the Metropolitan Police of London, which has seen the greatest increase in crime. The number of Authorised Firearms Officers and Specialist Firearms Officers is increased.

A zero tolerance policy on petty crimes, such as grafitti, vandalism, as well as police misdemeanors, the reintroduction of the death penalty for homicide and rape offenders and the building of more prisons is intended to discourage criminals from committing crimes. The Police are being reequipped with the latest body armor, vehicles and electronics equipment available to aid in policing.

The economic situation worsened several problems with the British Armed Forces, as spending cuts reduced British Army numbers dramatically. Other defense issues have left international critics doubt the effectiveness of the British Armed Forces, as it's defense and force projection capability has been hampered with the hammering down of the Royal Navy.

To counter this problem, Defense spending of the UK is increased, from 2% to 5% of the UKs spending. This will not only save several regiments and bases in danger, but also provide more-than-sufficient funds necessary for pay raises, the restoration of several regiments, as well as the modernization of the British Armed Forces.

Recruitment goals are also set for improving manpower strength; from 210,000 active duty and 175,000 reserve status personnel, it is intended to have a force of 300,000 active duty and 250,000 reserve personnel by 2020. The unemployed (but able to serve) are offered a chance to find employment in the armed forces.

The British Army reactivates 2nd Battalion, Royal Regiment of Fusiliers (light role), 2nd Battalion, Yorkshire Regiment (Green Howards) (light role), 2nd Battalion, Royal Welsh (Royal Regiment of Wales) (armoured infantry) and 3rd Battalion, Mercian Regiment (Staffords) (armoured infantry), which were previously disbanded.

The Royal Navy is "rejuvenated" with the commissioning of HMS Queen Elizabeth, as well as the acquisition of 20 F-35 Lighting II STOVL aircraft. Work on HMS Prince of Wales is intensified and, based on the Defense Review of 2016, it has been decided officially that 3 QE Class Aircraft Carriers, 10 Type 26 Frigates, 10 Type 45 Destroyers, 5 Astute Class submarines and 8 Albion Class Amphibious Landing Ships to be built.

The Royal Air Force revives the Nimrod MRA4 project and RAF Kinloss, where the aircraft were to be based, is reactivated. The number of Eurofighter Typhoons is to be increased by 15%, of all helicopter types (in all 3 branches) by 35% and of all AWACS aircraft by 10%. 20 Nimrod MRA4s are ordered. All Lynx helicopters have been replaced by the AgustaWestland AW159 (aka. Future Lynx) helicopters.

After decades of presence, the UK Armed Forces presence in Germany is ended earlier than originally planned; all UK forces in Germany are returned to the UK, with their bases transitioned to the German Army after all necessary documentation and equipment have been moved. They are expected to return by the end of the year.

The British Army is to be modernised, with the application of the Future Integrated Soldier Technology in 3 battalions (1 RIFLES, 2 RIFLES, 3 RIFLES) of the Rifles Regiment, with an increase in the number of Challenger II tanks from 200 to 500; by now, all Warrior IFVs of the British Army have been replaced by the Specialist Vehicle, based on the ASCOD AFV, based on the Future Rapid Effect System programme.

The UK recognises the need for a new alliance, given the UKs withdrawal from the European Union due to the great financial pain caused on the British people. Already British companies invest in anglophone nations, such as the U.S. , Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland as well as Commonwealth nations, including India. Investments are also made in Europe, but mainly in "stable" economies, such as that of Germany.

Diplomats are sent to the United States to rejuvenate the Special Relationship between the UK and the USA.

Plans to increase Germany's armed forces to 500,000 by 2020 are planned. Naval expansion and Airborne expansion are also in the works to achieve that goal. A lot of focus is going to the Eurofighters ability to possibly take off from an aircraft carrier. This technology would create a faster, lighter and more powerful carrier aircraft superior to anything seen today.

Posted Image

20 C-17 Globemaster IIIi and 5 C-130 Hercules are currently being bought from the United States.

Posted Image

Posted Image

The German military will look to increase the Airborne section from about 10,000 to about 70,000.

Posted Image

Germany to breaks away from the EU and looks to create the Central European Alliance or CEA.

NEIN! UN IST off limits, nigga. Invasions and events will begin soonish.

-----------------------------------------------------

With the economy rolling again, welfare and healthcare being rejuvenated and the tax code rewritten, other social issues are tackled. President Obama signs into law the decriminalization and legalization of marijuana on the federal level, with the drug being taxed at the rate cigarettes are.

Posted Image

The Department of Justice also is reworked. It is determined that the prison population of the USA is too high and must come down. Current prisoners who are incarcerated for drug charges have their sentences reduced drastically and people who are caught with illegal drugs and driving under the influence are placed in rehab instead of being given jail sentences, except in extreme cases. The jail system itself is also reorganized. Emphasis is put on rehabilitation instead of punishment. Privatized prisons are outlawed.

Posted Image

Immigration reform is also given a high priority. The current estimated several million illegal immigrants residing in the US are pardoned by the president. A one year tax deductible is issued to the current illegal immigrants if they register and become US citizens. Those who do not register within the year however will be deported.

Posted Image

Education reform also begins. The No Child Left Behind act is stricken from the records. The school year is extended by several weeks. Teacher training standards are upped, pay is increased, good performance bonuses are emphasized and low-performing teachers are fired. Textbooks are standardized and are edited by the Department of Education.

Posted Image

US companies continue to invest abroad and at home.

President Obama accepts the new diplomats from the UK. President Obama states that the special relationship between the US and the UK is as strong as ever.

Posted Image

Abortion is taken to the federal level at the Supreme Court, and the court rules that abortion shall remain legal throughout the USA. Several weeks later, gay marriage is legalized on the federal level. Term limits are given to US Senators and Representatives, with both Senators and Representatives being allowed a maximum of 24 years of service. The Federal Reserve and the Federal Government in general begins to emphasize paying back the US debt and attempting to gain a trade surplus.

Posted Image

Military reform soon to follow.
