Lee watched the Marines hurtle in, followed by deafening cracks. "Clear!!!" "Clear!!!" Lee sighed a breath of relief, but it was too soon. "Man down!!!" Lee ran into the building. There were several dead Argies in the first room. He made his way int other next room, following the cries of pain. There was one more dead Argie in the corner, with a Marine on the floor bleeding heavily from the left leg. The medics were already hard at work. Nothing Lee could do. He heard from Craig on the radio. "We have cleared the hilltop positions. We have 4 men down. 1 dead, 1 critical and 2 look like they are going to be alright" "Copy that Lt. Excellent work. Now get me some covering fire from those nests and get your men down here and attack from the North East!" Soon enough, heavy fire was coming down from the hills on top of the Argentines. The support section of 1st Platoon had moved up to the house Lee was in to provide more fire, and he watched 2nd Platoon make their way down from the hills. There were Marines swarming through the village now, preparing to breach. 1-3= Marines make some good progress. Argies remain hauled up in the North of the town. 4-7= Rest of the town is cleared. 1 more casualty taken. 7 Argie POW's captured 8-10= Argies remain in strong defensive positions. 1 more casualty. A Company systematically moved their way from building to building. Several shouts of building cleared were heard. Lee had his eyes on the last Argie strong point- a large building to the north of town. He fired several pot-shots at the windows. His Marines were closing in from several directions now. They prepare to breach 1-3= Building cleared. 1 more casualty taken 4-7= Building cleared. 4 Argie POW's taken 8-10= Resistance remains strong. 2 more casualties taken. Argies begin a fighting withdrawal around bay to the buildings in the East. You rolled a: 10! |

Henderson heard the boom of the rocket and saw the plume of smoke go up from the building, as Two Zero reported another 3 enemy dead. 3 Section were now behind the building and 1 and 2 section were in a position to lay down fire on the building, leaving the enemy no escape route. Henderson got the section round. "Right men. We're going to clear that building, we'll have the other sections pour down one last lot of fire and then we'll storm it. Grenades through the windows and then go in, full automatic and bayonets fixed. 30 seconds and then I'll give the order." They all got their kit ready, taking out grenades and fixing bayonets. All determined. "Charlie Three Zero to all elements, I need a 30 second burst of fire with all you've got on that building. Then cease and we're going to storm it. On my mark... NOW!" 1-3: The devastating hail of lead only kills 1 soldier and 3 Section storms, killing all inside but sustaining 3 casualties. 1 KIA and two wounded. 4-7: The wall of fire kills 2 soldiers and 3 Section storms effectively but taking 2 casualties, one critically wounded. 8-10: The immense firepower kills 4 soldiers and 3 Section storms, taking down all the Argies and only 1 Marine wounded, shot in the arm, but his condition is not threatening. Resistance remained strong. 2 more Marines went down trying to make it across the road to the building. The casualties were really mounting. They had suffered 8 casualties now, 2 of whom were dead and another 3 in critical conditions. The Argies, seeing they were outnumbered and out-gunned attempted to flee from the back of the house towards the buildings to their East around the bay. There was 8 of them left. They were only conscripts and were obviously starting to panic. "Keep up the fire!!!" screamed Lee. "Don't let up!!" 3 of the Argies fell down and the remained dived into nearby cover, still several hundred meters from the compounds to the east. Odds: They surrender Evens: They keep fighting and receive some sniper support from building to the east. You rolled a: 4! |

"Charlie Three Zero to all elements. All enemy soldiers are down. We have sustain 2 casualties, 1 stable and the other requiring urgent medical attention. Sergeant Prior has been shot in the shoulder and has lost a lot of blood. Get a medic in here now. All other troops form a defensive perimeter." Henderson went over to Sergeant Prior, who was being tended to by the men, keeping pressure on the wound and keeping him talking. "Fucking hell Sergeant. Last building and you had to go and get shot," laughed the Lieutenant trying to raise his spirits. "Don't worry a medic is on his way. Hang in there." He walked away and got Delta fireteam to follow him. "We're going to search the town for civilians. Let's go," he said and walked out the room. They headed towards the town centre and to what intel suggested was the town centre, the Pathfinders had informed them that this is where the civilians had been taken by the Argentine troops. There were reportedly around 10 civilians in this small town and had all been sent to that building. They pushed open the door and saw a sight that made them all take a sharp intake of breath and stop in the doorway. The population, mainly old women and men but one young family with a small child were all lying at the far end of the room: dead. The floor was stained by blood and there bodies were perforated by holes, some facially unrecognisable due to the gunshots. They approached the bodies and Henderson knelt down by an old man, who had many gunshot wounds to the chest. He touched the forehead and the body was still warm. He turned to the men. "They must have killed the people when they saw us land and start firing. Too scared for their own lives that they made a rash decision and decided to eliminate them as vengeance. That is... unless they were ordered to do that by their superiors," Henderson sighed deeply. "Let's get out of here and report all this to HQ. C'mon lads." |

The Argies continued to fight on, now receiving some support from the buildings far to the east. However, the town was now taken, and Lee ordered the wounded be moved safely inside the building while the rest of the Company mopped up. "Where is everyone?" muttered a Corporal He had a point. No civilians had been seen and all the compounds had been checked. That just left the buildings to the east. There was a lot of open ground between here and there, and he didn't want to risk civilian lives by blowing the buildings up. He thought for a second, pot-shots still being fired to the north of the town. Better for everyone if he negotiated "Hammond!! Hammond!! Get your arse up here!!" Hammond, the platoons Spanish Translator came thorugh the door "Sir?" "We are going the peaceful route" "Peaceful sir?" he replied, looking like he had never heard the word in his life "Don't get bloody smart with me. I want you to go and negotiate with those Argies. I reckon they have civilians hauled up in those buildings to the East. Tell them that if they surrender and let any civilians go, they can stay alive. Got that?" "Yes sir" About 3 minutes later, Hammond and another Private merged from the North end of the town with a White Flag and all the fire stopped just like that. He watched them approach the Argies half-way to the buildings in the east and share a few words before 1 of the Argies went over to the building to the east. Several seconds later, the White Flag was raised over the buidling. He heard the cheers from all around him. He got 2nd Platoon to go over there and make sure the civilians were safe. He also called in an evac for the wounded, including 5 Argies, as well as 7 other Argie POW's. In the 2 and a half hours of fighting, 2 Marines were dead, 6 were wounded, and 24 Argies were confirmed dead. It was tough fight though, no doubt about it. About 20 minutes later, there were more cheers as 30 civilians were marched into town and the Union Jack was raised. 1st Platoon was ordered to hold the perimeter. Lee reported back to Command. "The Union Jack is flying over Grytviken. God save the Queen!!!" Now it was time to bury the dead. Edited by Finn 1939, Oct 31 2009, 09:08 PM.

General Asher Prince of Wales Ops Room ------------------------------ "Alpha One Zero to Prince, Husvik has been secured but we have sustained 15 casualties. 7 KIA, 4 Critical and 4 Stable condition. We need urgent reinforcement. Over." "Prince to Alpha One Zero, we will be sending out your 3rd Platoon to you soon. Send the critically wounded back with the chopper. Over." The ops officer turned to General Asher. "General, we are sending out the final reinforced platoon from each company to reinforce each town. The merlins will act as Casevac. Anything else sir?" "Yes. Get HQ Company of .45 Commando ready to move today and have them on the island by tonight. We need those towns reinforced by sundown. Understood?" "Yes General," said the ops officer and began relaying orders into the comms. Asher relaxed and sat down in a chair, then a sharp knock at the door and an aide announced Major Vaughn was at the door. He nodded and the Major marched in the room and saluted the General. "Major. Good to see you," said Asher, saluting and then shaking his hand. "Take a seat and explain to me how the operation went and what intel you recovered." |

Major Vaughn, 22nd SAS Sweating it out with the Overall Commander "Well sir. The plan went without a hitch. Unfortuanely the Pathfinders took a hammering on Rig 2. It's just bad luck that they took a mauling." Vaughn sighed. He risked a quick glance around the room. The room wasn't much. Vaughn remembered a corrupt General in Colombia. His room was full of high tech security and quite a few antique guns. Of course. It didn't save him from Winters 50. cal Barret. This office is so chilling. This is why i refused a desk job. How can you go through numerous wars just to become a desk jockey for the government? "The info we got sir looked like schematics for something sir. Drilling equipment. But one of my boys though pulled up something your not going to like sir." whispered Vaughn. "Continue Major." pressed the Commander. "It was a log for all equipment moved to the Falklands. Luckily a guy from Argie brass was thier with the intel. Sir. The only things moved had come from mainland China. Exosets. 10 of the buggers." |

General Asher Prince of Wales Ops Room ------------------------------ The room went silent. "Shit..." Asher breathed. "When did they get here?" The Major scratched his head. "I don't know sir. We're interrogating the Argentine Colonel right now. Maybe he can reveal when they were sent or their locations. What about the drilling equipment? What could that be used for?" General Asher turned to his Chief Intelligence Officer. "Martin. What the fuck do those Argies want with drilling equipment. I mean the Oil Rigs were intact when they took them, so all our equipment would still be there in that case. What do they need more equipment for?" "I don't know General," he replied. "Only thing I can think is there might be more oil locations which they have found and what to drill down to find. It might explain there urgency for taking the islands. We'll have to do try and get more info from our agents in Argentina." "Very well, it's worth a try," nodded Asher. "Now Major, how long can it be before your SAS squadrons are ready to deploy again?" |
