Captain Anderson RAF 33rd Squadron Preparing for steath bombing mission. As the F-35's were being loaded amd Anderson received orders from th Air Marshal to bomb an Argentine convoy in a steath attack mission.Anderson and his squadron knew what thre up aganist, that is why they have 2 JDAMS and 1 AIM-9 Sidewinder in case thngs go wrong. It wouldnt be easy, but if the JDAMS hit the trucks, the escorts will waste their time. Edited by CipherTheCommadant, Nov 4 2009, 09:05 PM.

Leiutenant Colonel O'Sulliven 2 PARA On board the Castille 1100 hours O'Sulliven had just finished briefing 2 PARA's company commanders. The men looked understandably nervous. They were to encounter fierce resistance against a well dug in enemy on higher ground with artillery, armour and presumably air support. The plan was for 1 platoon from A, B and C Coy's to come ashore in Zodiacs. That was a total of 84 men with 7 men per boat- 4 boats per platoon. They would secure the area, drawing fire away from the 6 larger Mk9 LCU landing craft. Each Mk9 LCU would contain 111 men and would provide the bulk of the force, moving their way up shore and driving their way through the enemy positons, ready for reinforcements to follow up. 2 PARA would be on the western most landing zone across the bay from San Carlos, designated Red Beach. 3 PARA would land on Blue Beach- just south of San Carlos. They would secure the area and flank the settlement from the south and east, preventing reinforcements and preventing the Argies escaping. 42 Commando would be landing at San Carlos itself designated Yellow Beach, and would be in charge of securing the settlement. Fnally 40 Commando would land to the North of San Carlos designated Green Beach. They would secure the area to the north and stop any reinforcements from moving down that way. Hopefully weight of numbers, a devastating preliminary bombardment and sheer determination would win the day- but there was plenty of oppurtunities for things to go wrong. 2 PARAs immediate objective would be the long ridge line along the peninsula facing San Carlos across the bay. The ridgeline was, according to field reports, defended with several strongpoints with MG Nests, trenches and possibly some mine fields. It was vital to the whole operation. Failure to take the ridgeline would enable the Argies to fire upon the rest of the landing zones from the flanks and wreck havoc in the bay. The reports were still sketchy about the number of defenders along the ridge, but even if it was a battalion worth, it wouldn't be the first time the Paras had won an uphill battle against all the odds. It was why he had joined the Regiment in the first place- simply put, they were some of the best. In fact, 2 PARA had done just that at Goose Green in 1982- beating back the Argies in their hill top positions while outnumbered 2 to 1. Whatever the numbers, everyone knew it would be a hard fought battle. The recent attack on the fleet by the Argie flyboys had shaken everyone up, but also served to give them greater conviction to take the fight to the enemy. They were tired of sitting helplessly on their arses in these metal tubs. All that was about to change. ![]() (2 PARA will be landing just north of where 45 Commando landed. 40 Commando will be landing near where 3 PARA landed. 42 Commando will be landing where 40 Commando landed. Finally, 3 PARA will be landing to the south of where 2 PARA landed) Edited by Finn 1939, Nov 4 2009, 10:01 PM.

Major General Carleton On board the HMS Ocean 1300 hours With the plans for the San Carlos assault finalized, Carleton was busy finishing the Foul Bay assault plans. The units involved had already been informed. It would be the 5th Battalion Royal Regiment of Scotland (Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders) and the 1st Battalion Royal Irish Regiment- both from the 16th Air Assault leading the way. The 2nd Battalion Gurkha Regiment and 2nd Battalion Royal Irish would also be on standby. They would come in by Helo 6 and a half hours after the San Carlos operation started at 1230 hours. 5th Battalion would take the Northern most flank and hold off any Argie reinforcements from Cape Dolphin. 1st Battalion Royal Irish would land to the south and move to link up with 40 Commando before startinjg the push inland. Hopefully, with the san Carlos invasion distracting the Argies, Foul Bay would take them by surprise and on their flanks. From there, phase 2 of the invasion could begin as the push inland was made. Seemed easy enough on paper and casualty estimates were far lower then those for San Carlos. Still, these things had a habbit of going wrong, which was why the Gurkhas and 2nd Royal Irish were on standby. Edited by Finn 1939, Nov 5 2009, 02:16 PM.

Major Vaughn, 22nd SAS (infiltration team.) Somewhere in Argetina "*cough* So what's our situation Lieuteneant?" wheezed Vaughn. "Well sir. After we pulled you from the wreckage we made a run for the extract helo. It wasn't there. At the moment we're hiding out from 2 mechanised regiments. We've been on the run for 2 days. You were revived from your semi-coma 2 hours ago." commented Winters. "How many men do we have?" asked Vaughn. "7 sir. 3 men from your squad and 4 from mine." sighed Winters. "What about the radio?" "It's sort of working. But we haven't been able to contact HMS Prince of Wales." "damn. Ok. We'll hold out here for a few hours. Then will move. Did you send the message? Did you warn them about a traitor?" gasped Vaughn. "No sir. We're working on it." replied Winters. "Ok. Send an automated message. Warn them about the traitor and about our situation." Vaughn wheezed before he went back into a coma like state. Winters nodded at Blenner who began transmitting. |

Lieutenant Henderson 45 Commando South Georgia So this is how my war ends? Stuck on the sister island of the Falklands, while the Paras and the line infantry do the dirty work which we should be doing. We've been told that we will see action in the falklands before this war is out, but only as soon as they have got a transport ship ready for us. Who knows how long that will be? I know i should be happy that I probably loose anymore men, before the end of the conflict, but I can't help wanting more action and more violence. Maybe we'll get lucky and we'll be right behind the invasion force. No one wants to be part of "45 Commando: The Unit that watched the Falklands from the stands". Certainly not me. Henderson closed his diary and decided to go and check on his men in the MG sangars. Not that they would have anything to report... Captain Jones Pathfinder Platoon Foul Bay Captain Jones lay at the back of the sangar, watching the sky get slowly darker as the night crept in and the ensuing violence which was to follow. In the dead of night the bombardment of the San Carlos defences would begin, followed by the seaborne invasion by the Paras and Marines. Then just before daybreak the Royal Irish and the Scots would assault Foul Bay by air, with some assistance from Captain Jones' unit. The plan from then on was just to keep the argies on the back foot, keep them retreating east and consolidating each gain they made. Jones decided that it was time to get ready for the combat that they would be taking part in the next morning. He woke Moran up and then all of the team began organising their webbing with only the things they would need for the battle. Their daysacks were filled with ammunition and water, and all their weapons were cleaned one last time. The Captain wanted them to be prepared and have a plan for any situation, but then he remembered the famous saying. No plan survives contact with the enemy. Major Burne Delta Company, 1st Battalion, Royal Irish Regiment HMS Bulwark Major Burne walked out of the briefing room buzzing with excitement at the prospect of the coming battle. The Battalion had been on standby for weeks now, waiting for the announcement that they would be assisting in the war, but little did they know they would be part of the leading invasion force. They'd be landing at Foul Bay by helo, destroying all enemy resistance and then linking up with 40 Commando, then pushing inland with all the other units. Burne couldn't wait to prove what his Company could do in combat and he was sure they wouldn't let him down. Delta Company, was the Weapons Support Company. In it was the Sniper Platoon, the Mortar Platoon, the Recon Platoon and the Heavy Weapons/AT Platoon. Their job would be to provide constant fire support to the Battalion and they had a devastating array of weaponry. L115A3 AWSM sniper rifles, Javelin AT's, GPMG's, 51mm and 81mm mortars and finally a pair of M2 Browning MG's. Burne was sure that the Argies would have to be suicidal to mess with Delta Company. Or as the soldiers of it like to call it: Dragon Company. General Asher HMS Prince of Wales "Sir, all units are in position and ready for the green light and the Major General needs your authorization to start the operation," said the Ops Officer. "Tell him, he's got it. Admiral de Chabot has informed me his destroyers are ready for the bombardment and are waiting for Carleton's orders. Oh and open up a direct line with him once the operation starts. I need to know what's going on at all times. You got that?" "Yes sir. One more thing. The SAS team still hasn't radioed in. What do you want to do?" "They know their emergency plan. If the Helicopter RV goes wrong then they have to make it to Chile on foot. They're trained operators, lets trust them to do their jobs. Who else can we trust?" |

Major Vaughn, 22nd SAS (Infiltration team) Somewhere in Argetina. Cursing High Command. "So what your saying is that they're ignoring our transmission?" gasped Vaughn. "Yes sir. Or the traitor intercepted it." replied Blenner. The SAS team had been treking towards Chille for 2 days. They were tired, cold and hungry. It was decided that getting to Chille in one piece was impossible. Especially when they heard that the Argetinan secret police had locked down the whole border. So the new plan was to meet up with the men of the 15th Special Operations unit of the SAS. They had been specially tasked to disrupt enemy movement and communications. Surprisingly. Only the PM and the head of the SAS knew about it. "Sir." whispered a trooper. "There they are." 5 men dressed in civie clothes appeared out of no where. One burly man came up and saluted. "Major Ross of the 15th SOU. You wanted a way out of this dingy place?" grinned the MAjor. The other 4 began talking quitely with the team as the Commanders talked. "So how's England been? It's been 3 months since we've seen her." asked one very large trooper. "Bloody hell your massive! I'm Cpl Blenner? and you are?" The man grinned and stuck out a huge meaty hand. "SSgh Lewis Little. On loan to the 15th SOU." he said. "On loan?" asked Blenner with a raised eyebrow. "Let's just say. I may not be cut out for this spec ops crap. But i can handle myself in a fight." he grinned. The two commanders saluted and turned to their men. "Listen up. Our first priority is to send a message to HQ. We're going to ude the Argetinan radio station nearby to warn the invaision. We'll use Asher's personal channel. That'll catch his attention. We'll then bugger out towards the airport where an old Soviet transport chopper will be waiting. The 15th have agreed to come with us because A. They're of no longer use here. and B. They're bored. Are we clear?" The men gave a silent nod. 1 day later. 21:00 local time "Alright ready? Remember. 2 guards round the front, 2 round the back, and a whole Company of the bastards right round the corner when they find out." whispered Blenner. The attack on the radio station was about to commence. "GO!" yelled Vaughn. The men charged the station from 4 different directions. Each guard was neutralised by quick, rapid, silenced bursts. Vaughn stormed in with Blenner to find the area empty. They quicly found the transmitter and began transmitting to Asher's frequency. This is Major Vaughn to Commader Asher. We've found out that the targets are in the Falkland islands. We've been betrayed. I repeat we've been betrayed. Possible intervention of another country. QBU sniper rifles found. That could only mean that the Argies are being supplied by the.......... "INCOMING!" screamed a trooper as artillery fire began raining down on the troops. "Run! Run! Get to the airfield!" yelled Vaughn. |

Lieutenant Colonel O'Sullivan 2 PARA Day 15 0230 hours The plan was definitely going ahead. The preliminary bombardment was due to start at 0600 hours with the invasion beginning at 0630 hours- Zero Hour. 2 PARA were trying to get some sleep, but it was hard knowing that in just a few hours their lives would be on the line while carrying out a very risky operation. They knew that not everyone would make it through tomorrow, let alone the rest of the Falklands Operation. They had all been briefed and knew the plan, and back-up plans off by heart. They had gotten their gear together, including their survival and cold weather kits, and were due to wake up in 1 and a half hours for a nice, hot breakfast- the last they would have in a long time. O'Sullivan was going over the plans one last time and memorizing every detail. He would be going in on one of the LUC Mk9's after the initial zodiacs had cleared the immediate area. He couldn't help thinking how different this was to Afghanistan. They knew where the enemy were and they didn't have to worry about whether or not the people they were firing at were civilians or not. It was just 'here's the enemy, now kill him before he kills you'. He liked it that way, this was what him and all the lads had signed up for. He tried to get his head down again before giving up. He just sat down and mentally prepared himself for the battle to come. |

Captain Williams HMS Defender Off The Coast from San Carlos ------------------------------------------------- All the landing ships were in position and ready to send the marines and paras off to shore to take on the enemy. They only knew the defence of the actual town and there could be many more forces lying in wait for them. It was HMS Defender's job to try and damage the defences at the town as much as he could. He turned to his XO. "Begin Bombardment." 1-3: The bombardment is affected by the poor weather and visibility conditions and minimal damage is done to the enemy defences. 4-7: The bombardment is satisfactory destroying one tank and 10 men in the town, but the rest of the defenders are unhurt. 8-10: The bombardment works well, taking out two tanks, 1 IFV and 15 soldiers. The beach defences are also severely damaged. You rolled a: 2! |

Lieutenant Jack Hopley 2 PARA, A Company Day 15 0630 hours Zero Hour The Zodiacs bounced across the rough seas until the water became noticeably calmer upon entering the bay. They had all heard the pounding of the big guns on the Argentine positions, and hopefully they wouldn't be left with much to do. But with the early morning fog, the effectiveness of the bombardment would be questionable. At least it would be harder for the Argies to spot them in the water. He looked at the 6 other men in his boat, calm expressions on their faces. There were 22 other Zodiacs for 2 Para alone dotted about around him, all jam packed full of men and equipment. It was their job to clear the landing areas and draw fire for the larger ships to come in. If one of the Mk9's went down, it would be a disaster with each having 111 men on board plus all the heavy equipment needed to tackle the entrenched Argies "ETA 30 seconds!!!" screamed the young Sgt. handling the boat The ridge which 2 PARA were there to assault came into view, and with it a hail of gun fire. The bullets zipped around him, splashing into the water. The men kept their heads down, praying they wouldn't get hit. They got closer and closer to Red Beach, and the closer they got the more intense the fire. Another bullet zipped over the top of Hopley, then he heard the cry. "Man down!!!" One of the men behind him had been hit in the shoulder. Just at that moment their came a large judder nearly sending Hopley over the side as the Zodiac hit the sand and gravel. They had no time to tend to the wounded soldier, they all hopped out and dragged the boat up shore under a fresh hail of bullets. "Move up!!! Don't stop!!!" The other Zodiacs hit the beach around him and men bailed out before making their way up towards the grassy slope in front of them. Hopley hit the deck in a depression in the ground, covering his head in his hands. The young private who was hit in the boat was dragged up to some cover. He pulled out his map and quickly scanned it trying to find their exact location as his men started to return fire on the Argie positions up on the ridge. "Right lads, listen up!!". His Platoon gathered around him, other platoons doing the same upshore. "The Mk9's will be here in approximately 2 minutes, we need to keep the Argies busy. Move up to that cluster of rocks over there!" He pointed to the rocks about 50 meters away. "3 Section, you stay here and provide some covering fire!!. Watch out for mines and keep your head down!! Got that?". His men nodded, the sound of deafening gunfire ringing in Hopleys ears. "Good. Time to earn your pay!!" Hopley was the first out of their grassy cover, 3rd Section providing some covering fire. He sprinted, keeping his head down and not looking around. The men around him were quick to follow. Bullets kicked up dirt around their feet. They were about 10 meters from the rocks when a man next to him was hit in the chest, falling like a rag doll. "MAN DOWN!!" screamed Hopley. He stopped, grabbed him by the collar and started dragging him to a large rock, Pvt.Slater helped him out. Hopley slammed into the rock and looked back towards the shore just as the Mk 9's came in. The other battalions boats were moving down the bay towards their own objectives. So far, so good he thought to himself. Edited by Finn 1939, Nov 8 2009, 05:30 PM.
