3rd Squad, 3rd Platoon was patrolling the market when the car exploded. Luckily, the explosion was minor.
Sergeant Tobias quickly leads his men and provides first aid to the 2 civilians. One of them submit to her wounds, meanwhile the other is only injured minorly.

Bjarke orders his men to concentrate on the outer perimeter and not allow anyone into town.

1-2: Full scale attack, several taliban warriors with RPG's and RPD's. They make determined assaults on the outer perimeters.
3-7: The town comes under mortar fire from the west.
8-10: No sign of enemy attack. More faulty intelligence

Major Giles had briefed the men in the FOB. The operation would involve the whole company. They were moving out in the Mastiffs- 1 Mastiff for each section making a total of 9 Mastiff's. Major Giles was in the 3rd Mastiff of the column with 1st Platoon. They would move into the farming area from the West, while 2nd Platoon moved in from the south. 3rd Platoon would remain in the south on higher ground, giving support fire from the 50.Cals mounted onto the Mastiff's. 2nd Platoon would leave the Mastiff's with them and continue on foot.

They approach the farm compounds:

1-2= Lead Mastiff hits an IED (I will roll for damage done)
3-5= An IED is found.
6-10= No incident, Mastiffs continue to designated areas.

"This is Charlie one Zero to Sunray, we have no sign of Taliban attacks. I think you need to double check your intel.
1 Civilian Woman is KIA, her husband is going to loose some fingers, but otherwise okay. Be adviced, it was a brown pickup truck.

There might be Taliban to our west though, i would inform Delta"

Bjarke returned to evacuating civilians and returning things to normal. No traffic was allowed into Majal for the time being.

Alpha company were nearly at their positions, and it had all been without incident.

"Sunray, this is Delta-One-Zero. We are nearing our objectives. Over."

Two seconds later a large explosion was heard from the direction of the town. All the men were looking out for Chinooks flying in- the tell tale sign of ISAF casualties. However, they saw no such thing.

"Alright Alpha, focus on your mission. I will try and get an update on whats happening, but until then, stay focused"

The column soon split in two. 6 Mastiffs containing 2nd and 3rd Platoons moved to the south, while Major Giles and 1st Platoon moved off in the other three Mastiffs to the East of the complex before disembarking.

1st Platoon headed straight to the suspected location of Rafal Jazad- the local warlord of the area where they were to make contact. The Major was carrying some gifts including water and cakes. He had been to several meeting with local warlords before- but you could never trust them to keep their word. Hopefulyl that would change once Rafal saw ISAF was here to stay.

2nd Platoon meanwhile would sweep through the Western side of the area.

1-3= Major Giles and 1st come under small arms fire
4-7= 2nd Platoon comes under small arms fire
8-10= No incidents

After walking passed several fields Giles noticed the area was deserted. That only ever meant one thing.

Soon enough, 1st Platoon came under fire. An RPG and several AK rounds flew in their direction.

"Shit. 1st and 2nd Sections, clear those 2 compounds- 3rd, lay down a base of fire."

The men got to work straight away. Giles had hit the deck- the sound of bullets impacting all around him. He radioed 3rd Platoon up on the hill to see if they could spot exactly where the incoming fire was coming from.

1-3= Incoming fire from the North
4-7= Incoming fire from multiple directions- North, South and West
8-10= West and South

"Roger that.

Everyone, get inside those compounds!!!!"

1st Platoon rushed inside and set up defensive positions before returning fire.

"Sunray, this is Delta-One-Zero. We have come under small arms fire from multiple directions. We are unsure of how many hostiles. We will keep you updated. Over"

He quickly radioed 2nd Platoon to move in from the West trapping some of the Taliban:

1-4= The Taliban ambush 2nd Platoon as well
5-7= 2nd Platoon successfully trap some of the Taliban
8-10= 2nd Platoon encounter an IED (Roll for number of casualties)

The sound of fire was deafening from within the enclosed walls of the compounds. Men were shouting all around. Giles estimated they were under attack from approximately 20-30 Taliban, but now the Taliban were udner attack from 3 sides. 1st Platoon were hitting them from the compounds, 2nd Platoon were moving in from the west, and 3rd Platoon were laying down fire from the 50.Cals to the South.

Firefight continues:

1-3= Man down from 1st
4-6= Man down from 2nd
7-10= Taliban start to try make a fighting withdrawal back to the north

The Taliban had come under very heavy fire from the Anglians. Before long, they were making a fighting withdrawal northwards before taking shelter in a group of compounds. He heard radio reports from 2nd Platoon- it seemed they were within 40 metres of Taliban and had taken up defensive positions in several compounds.

The Fire Control Operater got on the radio
"Sunray, this is Delta-One-Zero. Requesting air support on coordinates 3,8,7,9,0,1 on a group of compounds. Over"

"Sorry Delta-One, air support is unavailable at this time"

"Oh, well thats just bloody perfect" shouted the young Fire Control Operator.

The firefight had been going on for nearly an hour now, with Alpha company and the Taliban exchanging fire from their compounds. Giles had word that 2nd Platoon were clearing several more compounds to the north of the Talibans position, again trying to cut them off

1-3= They are hit by an IED. Casualties.
4-7= They encounter a small number of Taliban
8-10= Compounds are successfully cleared with no resistance.
