Well we have an engineer spot free if anyone wants to take it. (Bear in mind it will be less action and more building, defending and repairing stuff- sometimes under fire, sometimes not. Still it is a very important job)

I am sure we can think up some more spots.

Ok I'll put Wiiper and DNA on the waiting list, and Bravo Two Zero can have Special Forces. You can choose your own unit, the NPC one I decided but its up to you. (BTW we need to get you a knickname)

To all Company Commanders of the ISAF Mobile Battlegroup (IMB),

Mission Briefing for Operation Lion's Teeth:

Callsigns for Mission-

Major Hammond- Alpha One Zero
Major Reford- Bravo One Zero
Major Henriksen- Charlie One Zero
Major Giles- Delta One Zero
Major Black- Golf One Zero

Objectives:

-Secure the Road Bridge to the north of Majal, now known as Bridge 1. Also secure surrounding compounds.
-Secure Majal and the small Bridge East of it, now known as Bridge 2.
-Secure the compounds to the south of Majal, for the construction of a possible FOB.
-Destroy all Enemy Forces in the Area.

Rules of Engagement:

-Hostile targets are to be engaged only if they are carrying a weapon or are an unarmed spotter.
-Minimal damage is to be done to Majal itself, this means no artillery or air support will be authorised to fire at any target in Majal.
-Prisoners are to be stripped of weapons, searched and then held until they can be evacuated.

Forces Available:

-3 Light Infantry Companies, each with 3 platoons of 28, totalling 84 in each Company. However each infantry company will be receiving a 6 man fire team of Royal Engineers, to assist in demolition and IED clearance.
-1 Mechanized Infantry company, with 84 men and 10 APC's.
-1 Armored Squadron, with 12 tanks.
-1 Special Forces Squadron, with four troops of 12 men.
-1 ANA Company of 96 men.
-2 Apache Gunships on standby.

Plan:

Posted Image

Phase 1-

At 02:00 hours; Chinooks will insert the infantry companies to their objectives.

Alpha Company will be inserted to the East of Bridge 1 and from their will secure the bridge, and once it is secure they shall move across the bridge and secure the compounds to the West.

Bravo Company will be inserted to the East of Majal and will first secure Bridge 2, before advancing into Majal.

Charlie Company will be inserted to the South of Majal, by the future FOB and will secure those compounds.

Golf Squadron will be inserted to the West of Majal and will immediately move into Majal to secure it, if they manage to secure the whole town before Bravo has finished securing the bridge, then they will transmit the Radio Message: Fort Knox. This will indicate the town has been taken and all troops in the town are friendly, to avoid a friendly fire between Bravo and Golf.

Phase 2-

At 06:00 hours, Delta Company and Xray Squadron will advance into the area from the south. Delta will link up with Charlie Company at the FOB and Xray will move up to support the forces in Majal. At the same time Zulu Company of the ANA will be arriving from the North, who will relieve Alpha at Bridge 1 and Alpha Company will then concentrate all their men on occupying the compounds and surrounding area.

Phase 3-

If all enemy forces have been eliminated, then at 11:00 hours an Engineer Company will arrive to begin construction of the FOB at the afore mentioned location and all of the infantry company's vehicles will be arriving at each of the locations, which will be driven in by the REME.

Phase 4-

When a basic FOB has been constructed, the companies will begin to move to the FOB although Road checkpoints will still be established.

Phase 5-

When it has become a fully functional and large scale FOB, normal operations will be resumed and supplies will be flown in.
Time scale for Phases 4 and 5 are yet to be determined.

Codeword for mission to start is: Delilah.

Maps for individual targets will be sent separately.

Lt. Colonel Robinson, Commander of the ISAF Mobility Battlegroup.

(Due to problems with image hosting I do not know if the images i post will work. Individual target maps will be sent by PM)

'Allright lads!Get your gear ready now!"Hammond said, after readibng the map, marking and planning the Assault.B-Copmany would insert to their flanjks and attack the insurgents from behind, whili Charlie and Alpha Copmanies would "fire-and-manouver".Delta Platoon, from Alpha would provide sniper support.

The plan was this:

Posted Image

Hammond and his men have been fighting for a very long time in Afganistan. His men had trust in him.He had trust in them. There was no-one hating one another in this team. The men here were getting confidence by the Hammond himself and had a hifh morale.

But that, wasnt always the story. There were many good men who died. Some died from Taliban insurgents, some others by an IED and others died from their injuries. In spite of all that, they can still "recover' and carry on.

Hammond wated to do what his Commanders sent him to do,with as few casualties as possible;the Taliban arent "friendly' with the ISAF,and because they arent frindly with the ISAF,the Taliban will shoot first and wont ask questions later.

Giles had just finished the briefing. He was happy with the plan, and the men were happy with the plan. As long as they could spare enough Chinooks in the case of casualties, the plan seemed pretty foolproof. The initial stage focused purely on surprise, so with any luck Terry won't know what hit him and simply fall back in disarray.

Either way, it seemed his boys wouldn't be moving in until morning and would just be in charge of mopping up. The main threat, as alway,s would be IED's, but sheer wait of numbers and firepower would send Terry running- or so he hoped.

Not only that, it looked like they were in for the long haul. Until now, the area had been firmly in Taliban hands, and they would know the area like the back of their hand. Knowing them, they would have a few tricks up their sleeves- trenches, IED hotspots, ambush zones, killing points, fire and maneuver tactics and lots of local informants. He had heard reports of some recent large scale offenses being fought more like conventional wars then counter-insurgency operations. This initial assault would only be the beginning of their problems.

He sent the men off to pack their gear, check the vehicles and catch some sleep. He had been in combat enough times to know you should catch some sleep any chance you got, becuase you needed to be conserving that precious energy. However, he knew he would have trouble getting to sleep- its pretty stressful having the lives of more then a whole company on your hands.

Both of the maps were hung up in Charlies briefing room.
"And then we will cover the engineers meanwhile they set up the Forward Operating Base. Delta will also be with us"
The 3 Platoon officers nodded. Lieutenant Okse, the commander of 1st Platoon pointed at Delta on the map.
"Do we know who they are?" Bjarke checked his files;
"dont know, led by a Major Giles. With that name, we might be lucky and they are british"
The men nodded again, they would rather have brits compared to the ANA and US.

Bjarke moved to the smaller map, detailing their landing zone and the compounds they were to secure.
"Allright, we are gonna let the Mg3's stay on the vehicles, so it will just be our Diemaco's and AT-4's. And since we dont wanna mess up the city, stick to your small arms, however, if you are threatened from a hardened position, dont be afraid to blow the sky high. I will answer to command".

The captain pointed towards the landing zone.
"1st Platoon will quickly secure a wide perimeter and put some fire toward the compounds. Okse, i want you to keep to follow the rules of engagement, but if dont be afraid to put them down if they look like a threat. I also want you to send a squad to secure the most northern compound."

"Lieutenant Falder, you and 2nd Platoon will focus on the small cluster of compounds. Once they are taken get ready to move out as the company's reaction force. We dont know how the rest of them will do in the town itself".

"Lieutenant Lundgren. 3rd Platoon is to circle south through the Compound ruins there, and take the two large compounds to the south. We expect the main Taliban resistance to come from there. Once they are secured, you form our perimeter to the south. You will establish and hold a roadblock there until we meet up with Delta 4 hours later. Any questions?"

none of the men said anything.

"The Chinooks will provide CasEvacs incase we need one. Get your men ready, i want you ready to move out 00:00. Dismissed!"

As they left the tenk, Bjarke packed his stuff, then settled down and rehearsed the plan over and over again.

As Major Black took notes on the briefing, he looked up from his notepad and began to thoroughly memorize every ounce of detail of the map. When Black finished studying the map, he stood up from his chair and began making his way into the squadron's barracks.

"Listen up, lads," barked Major Black.

The squadron stops what they were doing and focuses their attention on Black.
Major Black begins to walk to the middle of the barracks and begins to set-up a map, overviewing the operation.

"At 0200 hours, G Squadron is to be deployed on the west side of Majal. Our primary objective is to secure Majal and eliminate any x-rays within the area. Along with us in this operation will be Bravo Company. Their primary objective is to secure the small east bridge of Majal. We will be the closest insertion team to the primary objective. For this operation, Air Troop and Mobility Troop will be deployed. I will be leading Air Troop as Lieutenant McAleese leads Mobility Troop. Air and Mobility Troop will be equipped with ATN NVG7 Gen 2 and must have their C8 Carbines equipped with sound suppressors. We don't want to alert the whole outpost so early."

Major Black begins marking the map.

Posted Image
(KEY:
Red X - Air Troop LZ.
Red Line - Air Troop movement to RP.
Pink Line - Mobility Troop movement.
Pink Box - Mobility Troop holding position.)

"This is where the Air Troop landing zone should be when they make their jump out of the chinook. Once Air Troop has touched down, you are to immediately enter the x-ray compound quietly and quickly, neutralizing any x-rays on sight. You will have the upper hand of operating in the dark where the x-rays can not see you. The main target buildings of x-ray positions have been marked on the map. Mobility Troop will moving to this position and will be on stand-by with sniper pairs having overwatch of the target buildings and informing Air Troop for intelligence. They will also be picking off x-rays from far distances with the AWS Suppressed."

Major Black begins to add more marks on the map.

Posted Image
(KEY:
Pink Line - Mobility Troop movement.
Pink Circle - Mobility Troop suppressive firing run.
Blue Circle - Both troop RP.)

"Once Air Troop have silently secured five out of the nine main target buildings, Mobility Troop will be moving out towards the south side of Majal, and then alerting the x-rays with suppressive fire on their building. The x-ray's main attention will be on the Mobility Troop, giving the Air Troop the full element of surprise on the x-rays. Once the rest of the target buildings has been secured, both troops will move to the center of Majal, clearing out any remaining x-rays and radio Fort Knox and Bravo Company. Callsign for this operation will be Golf-One-Zero. Bravo Company's callsign is Bravo-One-Zero. Do final gear checks and get ready to move out by 0145 hours. Lieutenant McAleese, I want your troops to move out and set-up an OP west of Majal by 0130 hours, providing Air Troop intel on the current situation. Dismissed."
