The Major waited a moment to sum up the Commander. He had the look of an officer who had combat experience. He had a slight grin and a cocked head. "Well sir. at the moment I can only tell you how i'd use them in a typical situation. As a quick response unit. Basically. You find Terry and we'll chase him. You could also factor in patrols. Buit Warriors aren't really the "Hearts and Minds" type of vehicle." the major spat out the phrase like a curse word. "You do not approve Major?" asked the Commander. "No sir. We should, in my opinion, use a Scortched Earth policy. We should burn and destroy all possible targets. The confirm target rule is too strict. I bet many informants have been allowed to live because of that rule!" the Major sighed. "You have Jakals. Why not use them?" asked the Commander. The Major Spat before answering. "With all due respect sir. I'm not sacraficing my men so that they seem more friendly." With that out of his system. The Major waited for a reply. |

"Well it seems like you've got the right attitude Major," Robinson smiled cheerfully. "You and your men can rest tonight and tomorrow they'll be some operations for you no doubt. Terry never gives us much time to drink tea and talk. Or in my case read that book which I've been planning to read for years.... Oh well I digress. Your dismissed." |

The Major walked out of the office with a grin. "Alright let's go find Delta's commander." the Major said. |

Major Henriksen stood alongside Lieutenant Okse, Sergeant Rud and Sergeant Kisper. They all looked at the Tanks from the newly arrived brits. "You know, i dont think this is good on our mission" Rud said, before spitting on the ground. Henriksen looked at another tank entering the FOB, saying nothing. After a few seconds it was Okse who broke the silence. "Oh come on Rud, you know nothing says 'we just want to help' like a Tank" Kisper got out of the G270 and got out a bottle of water, the heat was unbearable "Its not just their vehicles, these guys look like they want to kill. Not win over the population" Major Henriksen still stood in silence before walking away, to get a SitRep from the 2nd Platoon, who was in Majal. Garrison duty was boring the men, he couldnt wait until the ANA companies got here. The civilians would be more at ease if guarded by Afghans, instead of foreigners. |

The Major was back at the FOB. 3rd Platoon had been left behind in the new Patrol Base with a few engineers who were finishing off their work. The rest of company had spent the night in the village before returning at first light. The whole operation had been completely without incident. Giles hopped out the back of the Mastiff and was greeted with a courtyard full of Warriors and Bulldogs with men clambering all over them. A Welsh flag was flying in the corner of the FOB. "Must be the reinforcements" said Lt.Evans- a Welshman himself. He walked off and started talking to some of the new lads. Giles soon found their Major. He recognized him from his time in Iraq- but he had changed drastically. He wasn't too sure of him, he seemed very uppity and he had a strange look in his eyes. Still, it was always good to see some more Mechanized. Giles, after exchanging a few words, went to find the control room to see what was going on out in the Green Zone. It seemed they were due back soon, but had suffered some casualties. Thankfully, none of them had been killed and that suited Giles just fine. |

Robinson watched as Delta's 3rd Platoon drove through the FOB gate. He had sent a platoon of ANA to go and take-over the running of the Patrol Base. It was only small and he didn't want to waste some of his precious mechanized troops guarding a small PB, especially when he needed to start giving combat experience to the ANA. After all Robinson was preparing for a big Op that evening. If he could launch a massive offensive and smash the warlord and his Taliban pals out of the farmed land to the West, they might be able to finally start work on this new base. |

The ANA troops leaving the compound were noted drearily by some of the men. "Funny. We probably fought them during the Liberation. This country is so corrupt even the Russian Mafia would avoid it." spat an APC driver. "Seems some of you believe this war is unwinable?" barked Major Hawkins who joined the group. "It is sir. We're risking our necks for an unkown people who probably hate us anyway!" "I can't believe i'm hearing this from the Tigers? Where is your COURAGE? Where is your HONOUR?" shouted Hawkins. A crowd was now gathering. The old Vets with the Major against the Rookies. The whole camp became still with suspense. "If Major General Newton was here he would have your heads!" shouted Thomason. "The Major General is not her..........." The rest of the word was interrupted by the Major's fist smacking him in the face. The sound of bone crunching was audible from the Perimter guards. The Major cursed. These new soldiers were causing alot of trouble. They still needed their rebelish streak beaten out of them. What has become of our youth? The rookie was sprawled on the ground. Writhering in agony. The vets walked away in disgust. But then. A distinctive clicking noise was heard. Oh shit.... The Major span round in time to see the youth with a Colt in his hands. The report of gunfire echoed around the camp. The Major winced. But no pain was felt. He opened his eyes to see a neat hole in the youth's arm. Naturally the screaming was quite loud. "Jeseus you cut that a bit fine Winter." breathed Hawkins. Winter. The best sniper in the outfit grinned with the face of a hunter who had just claimed his prey. |

Lt. Colonel Robinson was pacing up and down the command tent, in a state of complete nervousness. He had heard the sound of gunfire in the camp and he had sent someone to go and investigate; now here he was waiting for that man to return. 5 minutes passed before one of his staff ran through the tent flap panting fiercely. "And?" "It was the new Mech troops, sir. A young corporal drew a pistol on the Major and so one of his men shot the young man in the arm to stop him, he's in the care of the company medic now. What do you want me to do, sir?" "Get Major Hawkins and the man who shot the corporal in here.... RIGHT FUCKING NOW!!!" Robinson shouted, his voice being heard on the far side of the FOB. |

The major was in a grim mood. Robinson wanted to see him and the bastard traitor. "Winter and Thomason. I want you two to accompany me as security." sighed the Major. The two men nodded. The situation had been bad. It was now in the Major's interest to clean the stain on the regiment's honour. Maybe i should just shoot him. Or send him on a suicide mission..... The though passed as he entered the Commander's office. |

Major Henriksen rushed to the scene where the gunfire had been heard. He arrived alongside Sergeant Rud. They both arrived to see one british soldier on the ground bleeding from his face, and with blood streaming from his arm. Rud kneeled down to begin first aid, but one british soldier stopped him, called him a traitor. Rud just ignored him and said "Skide psykopater" (fucking psychopaths) The british soldier was thrown off balance and yelled at Rud: "What did you say!" Major Henriksen and Rud found themselves in the middle of a large number of British troops, this wouldnt turn out good. Luckily, Lieutenant Skalle, and some men arrived and quickly got Henriksen, Rud and the wounded british soldier out. They turned him over to the Danish medics, and posted guards around their part of the camp. Henriksen had already decided, that he did not like those Brits. The Major went to report to the Colonel, but found him already in a meeting with the commander of that Company who had been involved, so instead he got some water and returned to the wounded brit. It was clear he wouldnt be staying in Afghanistan. Besides his broken jaw, which had gotten mighty infected seeing the filthy sand around the vehicles had gotten in, he might also loose his arm. The shot had crunched his elbow to pieces, the shock of it dislocating his shoulder. The medics did what they could to fix the wound in his shoulder, before calling in a Chinook to fly him back to Bastion. He and the medics were escorted to the chinook by 8 danish troops, they could see the British Armour eying them up and down. Henriksen got on the radio and told the Hospital in Bastion (run by danes) of the situation, he didnt mention it had been British soldiers who had done it to their own man. He would wait for the Colonel to clear out that mess. Edited by Andcus, Sep 6 2009, 10:48 AM.
