This game is dedicated to all ISAF Forces fighting in Afghanistan at the moment.

This game is based on the original game of 4th Battalion, by Path&Andcus Ltd. It will involve small elements of fan fiction, with each individual player being able to tell his Character's story but in essence it will be a strategy style game. The game will be set in Helmand Province, Afghanistan and be in the setting of the current occupation by ISAF forces in the Southern region of the country. This game will mirror the recent operation by British forces (Panthers Claw) to seize the town of Babaji, and then to set up a FOB in the region. That is where we will start, as an ISAF battalion preparing for this mission, and our first operation will be the assault on the fictional town of Majal.

Right this is how it will work. Their shall be a Battalion Commander, played by me who will decide before each battle what assets you will be receiving. It may be that of some Apache Gunship support from Kandahar air base or maybe if the need is great enough, some Fast Air could also be called in. I, as the BC, will tell each Company Commander controlled by you, what your role is for each mission. These may be things as simple as patrolling the town for the evening, or going on taskings, when we will have received intelligence reports that say a Taliban commander is hiding in a certain compound and i will send certain companies to try and take out or capture.

Combat will be like Domination and WWR, although obviously on a smaller scale. However there are two things to note. One thing is, that although this is a warzone, ISAF have only suffered just over 1000 casualties in 8 years, so don't if you get a '1', decide that your going to have 5 people dead; remember this is a well equipped force and and are wearing body armor. The second thing is, that you should not be able to cause huge casualties to the Taleban, most likely because you will not be able to go and see how many you have killed but also because it is very rare for huge forces clashing in Helmand, so there will not be hundreds of targets. You must roll for everything you do that is tactical or involves the enemy, such as moving stealthily in the town or trying to spot where the enemy are firing from.

To Join please post what company you would like, what nationality you are from and if you are going to move about in vehicles, what will they be. Light infantry are allowed vehicles but only thin skinned ones like the Humvee, Jackal or Jeep etc. Obviously Mechanized Infantry can move about in any APC.

Now I have four requests to play so I am making four companies, I may open up more if I feel that more people want to join and that I can give them a role. If not they will be put on the waiting list. I need the four people to post the name of their character and anything else they feel neccesary (weapons, unit, vehicles). I Will also be controlling some NPC support units that will sometimes be deployed, of course I control air and artillery support and evacuations.

Here is the unit list:

Lt. Colonel Robinson (Path)

Alpha Company Major Hammond - Light Infantry (Cipher)- SA80, AT4, Jackal.
Bravo Company Major Redford - Light Infantry (Neil)- SA80, Jackal.
Charlie Company Major Henriksen - Light Infantry (Andcus)- C7, M95 LSW, AT4 and Mercedes G320.

NPC's:

Xray Squadron, Queen's Royal Lancers- Major Featherstone

Waiting List:

-Wiiper

-

Map will be up soon when i brief everyone for the first operation, I will probably post the brief tomorrow.

Have fun roleplaying until then!

Bjarke enjoyed the time they spent at Bastion.
It was way better than all the time they had in the FOB's or out on patrol in the desert.
But the recon squadron adapted, like they always did.

Time went with playing football against the brits, playing poker against the brits, eat with the brits, or make fun with the brits.
Everything he did down here was with the brits. And he liked it. The now 34 Year old Captain had been to Iraq and Afghanistan. Several times.
Alongside most of the Recon Squadron. They were all veterans of some conflict, wether it be kosovo or the deserts. So they all quickly felt in with the British soldirs who made up most of the people here. They werent that different from the Danish. They enjoyed making fun of things as much as them. Even though they had a little more discipline than Bjarkes men. And it paid off to know that many of the British Officers had connections, so Bjarke could learn where the hell they were going. The men enjoyed the company of the british, and the hot meals and showers at bastion. But they belonged in the field. Outside with the steel-heads from the Royal Guard in their Piranhas.

So it was with eager anticipation that Bjarke heard the rumour that he was now part of some new battlegroup. And he was placed under british command for now. He couldnt wait to see who he was gonna work with. And have some fun with them would be nice too.

Major Justin Giles, 1st Battalion The Royal Anglian Regiment, A Company, Mechanized Infantry

The Major strolled into the barracks. They had been here in Afghanistan for just over 1 month, and so far had been on 2 operations and a few patrols. 3 men from his Company had been wounded, but they were lucky to have suffered no fatalities. But for the most part they had just been sitting in their base in Lashka Gah trying their best to keep themselves occupied.

However, since the Yank reinforcements had finally arrived in the South of the province, it was time to start taking some more ground. They knew a big operation was coming up, but they didn't know when, where or if they would even be involved.

He looked around in the sweltering heat. He saw his men playing gameboys, listening to ipods, lifting weights, playing cards and one or two were having a snooze. He strolled through, the men giving him a little heads up and he entered the main ground.

There were 4 Warriors IFV's sitting out in the baking sun, along with 6 FV432 Bulldog APC's, and men were clambering all over them, oiling hinges, cleaning tracks, testing vehicle sights, adding cammo nets and all manner of other maintenance work. Giles remembered his previous tour of A-Stan in 2007. The Royal Anglians had suffered badly and they had lost a Warrior causing 6 casualties. Those things were cramped and hot, and he had seen men burning to death inside them after IED strikes. Still, out here, the IED's weren't as dangerous as some of those he had come across in Iraq.

He did a small check on the rest of the men and retired to his quarters for some rest.

Rock Apes ftw

36 year old Major Alec Redford was the last man into the chinook the crewman basically pushed him into his chair as the man got seated to use the GPMG

"30 seconds!" the call ran throught the chopper Redford looked around a couple of guys were laughing at the FNG Pvt. Wilkes he had just joined the company only the last week after a shambled transfer he had the unlucky seat under the left engine which would leak an odd red liquid that looked alot like blood,

"C'mon guys you dont wanna trade with me?" he said getting the liquid on his hand and holding it up to the light and then sniffing it.

"Foul aint it" One of the L86A2 LSW gunners shouted to him pointing to the top of the aircraft were the liquid was comming from "Spare engine residue that manages to get down and into the cargo hold"

"Wheels up!" The Crewman at the front of the cargo hold shouted signalling upward with his fingures The rotor blast threw sand into the rear of the aircraft Wilkes forgot to put down his goggles and got sand in his eyes. The chopper got off the gound and made a sharp right to fly out of Bastion. Alec plugged his head set into the chopper allowing coms with the pilot.

"The no seatbelt sign is now turned off you can now use any non wireless electronic equiptment and laptops, Sick bags are located under your chairs as well as the life vests, the inflight movie is the guy sitting infront of you have a nice flight." Alec laughed to himself and shouted over to Wilkes who was still having problems with the red liquid.

"Use your sickbag mate keep your kit dry and dont get that shit in your eye." He also noticed tht he had a helmet camera on "How mutch that cost?"

Wilkes shouted back a price but Alec didnt hear him he pointed out the rear of the aircraft

"Record some of this shit mate!" The chinooks were flying at around 20-30ft above the ground Kandahar was quickly becoming a spec in the distance. Long ride to bastion now nick sat back into his seat and closed his eyes.
