As we all know, it is important that Roleplaying games are played in the right spirit and the most important thing we must remember is, We play these games with each other, not against each other. That means that they should not become personal affairs and therefore, personal issues should not be brought into these games. I am not too bothered if you do not like another clan member, but I am bothered if you then turn these topics into little wars between you and them which in the end, only result in one person making the other feel bad. I say this because one of the things that personal wars often involve is Cheating Cheating in RPG's will not be tolerated at all. In the past we have taken a rather relaxed attitude on it, usually punishing people with strikes or warnings. However, I feel it has come to a point where people think nothing of the consequences if they are caught cheating, and therefore these games turn into a mockery of what they once were. It has been known for a long time, by some of the older users, that it is possible to cheat when using the dice roll on these games, by fixing it. It's not too difficult and I have never assumed that no one would do it. However, due to the fact that it was recently rather publicly shown how it could be done I feel it is time for some strict rules on cheating to be enforced. Rules on Cheating are as followed: -If you are caught cheating in a game, then you will be banned straight away from that game. No warnings. However, it is up to the Game Moderator's (GM) discretion and therefore it could just be a ban for a limited period of time. -If a GM cheats then he will be banned from his own game, in which case his Assistant GM, will take his role in moderating. -This means that all games must have a GM and an Assistant GM, making sure that if there are any disputes it can be discussed by both of them. Now, I have often found the reason people cheat in games like Domination is because they are losing. The main thing to remember its ok to lose. If you are at war with someone and he or she outsmarts you on the battlefield, just accept it gracefully and keep fighting or make peace agreements. Don't get in a mard and then decide that your going to cheat to start winning again, just take it like an adult and move on. The most important thing is: Be Honest. If we must do one thing, it is to be honest. If another player is secretly sending you insulting PM's tell a GM or even one of the site admins, because solving it your own way will only cause more damage. If you are honest, then people will help you. If your not sure what to do in a game, then just talk to a GM and he will advise you. These are all guidelines and I can't enforce them myself. So its up to you to do that. If we all follow them, then there will be no need for banning. Be Honest. Don't Cheat. Have Fun. ~PathfinderGold |
