Vasilis and Kontstsntinos went to the team via truck and then they informed them of the current situation. As his first role as a CO, Vasilis better organised the teams. When the team watched Fotis leave with a truck, they were somehow happy, but Konstantinos was keeping an eye on Dimitri Georgiou, Foti's son, who was the only man protecting Fotis. Konstantinos kept an eye on him. Meanwhile, the team was going to get some sleep. They were tortured. They needed rest. |

"Nothing like a good cuppa whilst people are getting killed outside" laughed jonty The mood was depressing. The gunships weren't servicable till Wednesday and even then. They didn't look like they'd work for long. "Did you hear about the Greek?" asked Reynolds. "Yeah...Shame really. Reminds me of the Falklands. Remember what happened to Bravo Novembers crew? Flying a chinook in an Argentian invasion didn't help any of that crew mentally." replied Mac. "Hey mouse. Play us some bagpipes lad." "Why do you assume every Scotsman can play the bagpipes?" moaned mouse as he got them out of his trunk. "Well, you Scots have to be good at something.Since your awful at golf!" grinned Jonty. "Why you little.,........" The 5 minute fight ended when a forces warden opened the door to see 3 Scotsmen standing on the bar holding off the English pilots. One was brandishing some bagpipes like a machete! |

Colonel English sat down at his desk and began to write his After Action Report for the day after all the hostile action that had occured, this would be sent to all the company commanders: To all company commanders of the 17th NATO Battlegroup, After Action Report of Day 1 of Operation Blue Steel: We received intelligence from a RORSAT the day before which showed the Russian forces mustering at the village of Adenstedt and while they did not have enough troops their to fulfill a full assault on our position, we assumed that the enemy would soon test our defences with a company sized attack. To prepare for this I ordered that preparations be made to sure up our defensive situation and to this effect several steps were taken. Echo Squadron's Special Forces, moved East to set up an ambush with mines and rockets further along the road L469. The tanks of charlie company dug in a few hundred meters in front of the town to provide an outward defense against any enemy assault force. Bravo and Delta company took reinforced positions within the buildings on the outskirts of the town to provide a better position from which to attack the incoming enemy with a mix of machine gun fire and Anti-Tank rockets. A pair of A-10 Thunderbolt ground attack planes, which are specialist tank killers were put on standby for us in case of a large presence of enemy armor. Later today one of Echo's teams spotted the enemy forces, a mix of trucks, jeeps and tanks heading west along the road, about 700m away and closing fast. Upon closer observation, they recognised that the convoy had: 2 T-72's, 2 BMP's and 3 trucks in the middle and 2 BMP's and a T-72 at the rear. When Sergeant Major Vasilis gave the word, the mines were detonated and the T-72 at the rear was damaged heavily immobilizing it, alongside 3 BMP's. 6 SHARK team operatives were lost in the ensuing crossfire and their commander was seriously hurt. I then ordered that Echo Squadron exfil to grid reference Papa-Quebec-One-Zero-Niner-Romeo, where they were to rendevous with Delta Company's Humvees who would extract them back to Alfeld. However, on the way to the extraction point the Humvee's were spotted by a Russian tank at grid reference 3-0-0-9-7-6 and requested that it was eliminated by air support before it posed a threat. An A-10 Thunderbolt, callsign; Oblivion was tasked to take out the T-72 and although it did minor damage to the tank, an infantry platoon nearby managed to launch a SAM and take out the A-10. The other A-10, callsign; Firestorm was brought in to finish the job and on its first run it managed to immobilize the tank and was able to go in for a second strafing run, in which it managed to destroy the tank completely. After this Firestorm moved off to assist other units in the area. Therefore, the Humvee's were able to extract the Special Forces and bring them back to Alfeld without any more casualties being sustained in the process thanks to the brave efforts of the Thunderbolt pilots, who I am particularly grateful to. Bravo company then managed to set-up a snap ambush on a Soviet infantry platoon on the edge of the town which was extremely effective, inflicting heavy losses on the Russian troops but some of the enemy managed to take cover and one of Bravo Company took a hit, and unfortunately 26 year old Corporal Mike Watterson was killed. Unfortunately two other soldiers from Bravo Company also died later from their injuries, in the field hospital. At this point Captain Andersen of Charlie Company, decided it was time to unleash his tanks on the Soviet forces which were panicking in dissaray. He ordered the tanks of 1st Platoon to commence firing. The initial rounds were frustratingly ineffective, leaving only 1 Russian BMP destroyed, alongside 1 Russian Jeep and so to try and maximise the damage he advanced on the enemy positions in force. 1st Platoon intially took heavy fire as they advanced, but with support of Lieutenant Møllers armour, they managed to catch a Russian Infantry Platoon in the crossfire, and sucessfully eliminated it. After that the russians started to fall back and the tanks were ordered to pursue them, with Bravo Company behind looking for wounded or any enemy who had surrendered. Bravo Company found some hostile forces further east, but they were lightly armed and had already sustained casualties so when Bravo opened fire, they did not stay to engage but used smoke to cover their retreat and moved East. Authorization was given to their snipers to engage the retreating enemy, and the hostile forces were wounded and when approached surrendered quickly. 4 Lynx utility helicopters were sent to bring back Bravo's men and the 7 enemy prisoners, which arrived back at Alfeld with no enemy activity sighted. Charlie Company's tanks moved to form a perimeter on the Eastern edge of the town, to ward off any enemy raiding parties but none arrived and the rest of the forces returned to Alfeld safely. Recent RORSAT images has shown no enemy forces managing to make it back to Adenstedt and therefore we are to believe, we eliminated all enemy forces. However, the RORSAT also showed around a battalion maybe two battalion's worth of men being brought into Adenstedt from the East and this confirms our fears that the Soviets are readying to mount a full scale assault on Alfeld. Casualty Tally's for the day's combined conflict: Soviet: 58 KIA 7 Wounded, taken as PoW's. NATO: 10KIA 3 Wounded. Colonel Christopher English, Commander of the 19th NATO Battlegroup. Andersen finished reading the Big Dog's AAR. Until now, he hadnt realised how bad it had been for Echo Squadron. And that had only been one or two companies. With the russians ready to mount a full scale attack on the city, the situation would get much worse. The Captain looked over the map again, then radioed the company to inform them that he wanted the company commanders and the colonel to meet for a strategy meeting. |

As many people believe, the situation at Echo Squadron is bad,but winthin the squadron, things are way much worse. The surviving members of SHARK team,Half TIGER team,PANTHER and OWL teams were all poorly trained.Normally, there would ahve been other 20 who were beter trained, but they died from diseases like Black Mole. That is standard in Greek Army bases. The food is crap. The rooms are full of bacteria.Beds are densly populated by micro-orgnaisms.That resulted in tjeir death. This can be justified, because Greece is trying to get on her feet after the junta that ruined the nation. Fotis, however, did play his part.In 1981,on an excesrise against the Turkish Spec Ops,he was at his house in Partnetha while his team was getting slaughered by teh Turks.Though Konstantinos and Alexander defaeted the Turks on their own in the excersise, they were exhausted.Fotis litteraly, deserted them.He was sleeping in his bed.A quick search at his small house in Parnetha and youll find hundreds of Cretan wine bottles. However,Konstantinos and Vasilis were ready to fight for the last man. They went to sleep.Tommorow, they would chack out the mp and follow orders. |

Taylor had heard a good portion of his men talking about Echo company. About them having the most casualties and the one soldier shooting friendlies. He ignored most of the gossip but once he heard a man insult a Greece sergent, he approached the Canadian soldier and looked him straight in the eye and sternly said, "If you insult any of the others here one more time, you're on the first flight back home corporal, now get back to your bunk". The corporal replied with a quiet but audible "Sir", and continued along his path. He also posted a note in the mess hall about this type of behavoviour will NOT be accepted. While Taylor had his own thoughts about the Greeks, he kept them to himself. |

Colonel English looked at the screen in front of him in shock and awe, the spy plane was feeding them direct footage of what was happening at Adenstedt and to say it was bad, would probably be the biggest understatement since the Spartans said "maybe we're a little outnumbered..." "Jesus... how many battalions you reckon that is Captain?" Thompson stared at the screen for a few more seconds then replied, "3 maybe more, sir." "Fuck... we've got to do something right now, lets get the word out to the commanders," English snapped. "Here is the mission documents for Plan Alpha, sir," he replied handing his CO the folder. "Good. Get me the radio," he ordered. He opened the mission folder and began to scan through the plan he had already memorized but just so that he knew it perfectly. "This is Sunray to all units, we have a Red Alert, I repeat we have a Red Alert. The Russians are massing at force in Alfeld, strength of the force is something like 3 Battalions but they could have more reinforcements. They've got a couple of flights of Hind attack helicopters and there are some mobile artillery coming right up towards Alfeld, we'll try and hit those with an airstrike but no guarantee we can get them all. Looks like we're in for a tough fight guys and we don't have much time to prepare. So we're going with Plan Alpha." He took a deep breath before continuing. "Plan Alpha calls for the use a bait company to lure the Russian forces into the town, therefore seeing as they will have to take the brunt of the assault I have to ask that Delta Company act as bait, because their humvees will allow them to retreat and out-manouver the enemy better than the light infantry. Then by a fighting withdrawal, the rest of the companies get across the bridges on the Leine where we will then form a solid and powerful defense on both of them. This heavy resistance will force the Russians to deploy their main force into the town with the other battalions and will be forced into our turf. The bridge with heaviest resistance will be given up, but that is part of the ploy. We wait for the russians to get a large part of their force across, probably half a battalion and then we blow the bridge using either pre-planned explosives or an airstrike. The infantry then eliminates the trapped units with superior fire support, and because the enemy will be split from the rest of its men. Meanwhile, the Bravo Company will go and claim the other bridge and destroys the russian forces there. Charlie Company's tanks will then lead us across engaging Ivan in the flanks, using once again our superior knowledge of the town to ambush them at every turn. Then by using choppers we transport Delta Company back across the river to cut off the enemy at the eastern edge of the town, while Echo Squadron's special forces will take assault boats get across the river and sweep the town for any survivors, hostiles, wounded or prisoners. Having closed in on the enemy forces from all sides, we destroy them with a mix of our firepower and artillery or air strikes. Any questions men?" |

"None from Charlie, Big Dog" Andersen put down the radio and then shouted through the camp. "Allright, we are packing up. 3rd Platoon, get some explosives to blow our trenches. I want to be Oscar-Mike in 15 minutes. Get all the ammo and supplies you can carry. As soon as you are ready you will start your engines and prepare to roll out in Column formation. And HURRY UP!" Foley read over the plan a second time. He was unable to believe his eyes. Bait. They were fucking bait. Now he had to go explain that to his men. "So to sum up, we are going to try and lure the Russians into our trap and" "So we are bait" cut in one of the soldiers "No, we're....sort of.....well, yes, we are the bait" He heard angry muttering from many of the men. "Look, we will stand no chance against Ivan in our old positions. The only way we are going to be able to do this is to lure them into a trap. Now I don't like being the ones responsible for that anymore then you do, but if this is what has to be done, it is what has to be done. Any questions?" His men fell silent "Good. Now get those Humvees sorted, and Sgt.McKensy, I want you are your squad to go back into town and see if you can round up some Stinger Missiles" Foleys plan was to hide some of the Humvees behind the trees to the North and South of Langenholzen, and 1st platoon will fire on the Ruskies across the fields where they will be vulnerable. Hopefully Ivan will take the bait and they will withdraw to the outskirts of town where they will join 2nd Platoon who will continue to fire on them. They will continue a fighting withdrawal before splitting in two and retreating across the bridges.Road blocks will be set up in the town to funnel Ivan through certain kill zones and to make Delta look like they are serious about holding the town. However, all this depended on Ivan NOT landing any troops behind them and cutting off their withdrawal. It also depended on the Humvees being fast enough to avoid being taken out. In fact, the plan had so many possibilities of going wrong Foley actually resorted to praying. He was not a religious man, he never had been, but he needed anyone he could get to help him out on this one. |
