"Bravo, request accepted withdraw over the bridge. Now men we're going to put up a strong defence when they reach the bridges, they'll be forced to commit men over the bridge and when half of them are over we'll blow one of the bridges and cut them off. Fight hard men its not over yet." |

The squadron watched the tracer fire outside increase in density. The Choppers weren't going to be ready until tomorrow afternoon. "I suppose we should go out and lend a hand." suggested Mouse. "Hey! Some of us weren't on the AAC here." complained Jonty. The pilots watched outside with growing interest. "Allright lads. Grab your repair kits. We're going out to fix some tanks.....or humvees.....or APC's." yelled Mac. OOC: handing command of my little engineering task force over to Path to use until tomorrow. I'll be back then

Andersen recieved the blooded soldiers from Delta and Bravo. They had taken heavy casulties from the engagements in town, and this wasnt certainly the victorious feel they had had the previous days. Andersen presented his command tent and AAC's to be used by the commanders and men of Bravo and Delta. He felt a little ashamed being not able to pay them back from taking out the hinds. Andersen made sure to mention it several times to be sure that they'd understand that he really did value them for doing it. Out near the bridges, small arms fire rattled back and forth between the river sides. The russians were probably consolidating their forces before trying to take the bridges. And until they tried, Andersen couldnt make his presence known. |

Colonel English continued to pace up and down behind his desk, stopping to re-examine the wall map every few paces, paranoid of anything as the tension grew by the minute. He was brought out of his trance by the Captain shouting at him. "Sir, the UAV's are reporting the Russians have brought all their men into their town now, they're definetely getting ready to cross the bridges. Good news is their artillery was destroyed earlier by a B-52 squadron. Bad news is there are still at least two battalions worth of men sitting on the other side of that bridge. What do you want us to do?" English thought about it, but not for long. "Stick to the plan. They've been waiting to attack but they don't know what we have planned. Let them come and we'll divide and conquer. Anyway we've got the Attack Choppers back now, hopefully they'll prove their worth," he said optimisticlly. "Very good sir." English picked up the radio and began issuing orders. "Sunray to all Elements. The big red dog is in place and its about to come and have a bite at us. Hold your positions men and remember the plan, if you can outsmart them than you can beat them. Remember an enemy attacking a reinforced position needs an advantage of 3 to 1. They only have 2 to 1. The odds are in our favor. Ground commanders you take specific orders from Charlie and his tanks, he's the most important unit right now so do what he says. I'll be here to call in the choppers when you need them. Good luck boys." |

"allright people, we will do this by the book. Alpha and Bravo you hold each your own bridge, fix the enemy by fire, then retreat by platoons towards a reinforced second line. Wait for the enemy to cross. Its important to get Ivan to believe we dont want them across, so we will do what it takes. Wait until he makes a determined attack towards your position, then retreat to your secondary line. Once the first bridge falls, the second MUST hold. Second bridge, i will be there quickly with my tanks, and we will push across together. Lets go!" |

The sound of the choppers heating up was music to the ears of Fox squadron. Once again MAc and his crew would enjoy the thrill of the hunt. "Let's kick the tires and light the Fires boys!" shouted Jonty at the top of his voice. A crowd of heads turned to look at him. "What? I've always wanted to be a jet pilot!" grinned Jonty. The Cobras wined up whilst the Hueys slowly began to go through their checks. They had been equipped with 2 Miniguns and some unguided missles just to add some 'flavour' as Matthews had pointed out. "This is Fox-One-Zero to Sunray. We're prepped and ready. Give the word to turn some Ruskie tanks into Swiss cheese." voiced Mac over the Vox. "Funny. I've never had swiss cheese." laughed Jonty. |
