Welcome to my new game, this has been discussed in the forum game idea section, but i will do a quick summary. First of all: This is a Test Scenario. See it as a Beta test. It is Intended to help test out rules, as such you can post feedback and stuff like that to me. Second: As this is a Test Scenario, dont get worked up over some stupid rule, a simple feedback post or a commentary will suffice. ----------------- A: Story (unfinished) Now to the Scenario, im still working out a main story line, so nothing big here. Main idea is a War between NATO and the Warsaw Pact. This is centered in norther germany, the real game will have a much larger front and will contain lots and lots of more events. ----------- B Game itself There are 6 spots 3 NATO and 3 Warsaw They are brigades for this Test Game. In the Future there will be a variety, for example NATO could be outnumbered so there would be more Warsaw spots. Not to worry about right now, but the real game will be Meta. Meaning that the result in one campaign will affect the other, even if we change location from the northern front to the southern. If your Division is encircled and destroyed, it will not appear for the next game or so (considering its being rebuilt) Therefore its important that you do not take risks, as it could remove your experienced men, and you would get stuck with recruits (more on this later) ---------- C Rolls This game is played by rolls. And there are strict rules how to use those rolls. 1: The GM can at ANY time declare your roll or post void, you can question this by PM or in the Chat Box. Just dont bring it into the topic. 2: Rolls are from 1 to 10. You can decide wether 1 is the most positive or its 10. There CANT be no middle ground. rolls WILL go from one end of the scale and the get better/worse from there. So
The reason for this is because of Attributes (explained in a minute) 3: There is no strike system or something compared to that. Just dont cheat or act rude okay. We all want to have fun, and cheating is not the way to do that. 4: Rolls will have to explain in detail how you perform, not just good, bad, mediocre (as i presented them )Its up to yourself to set how fair they are, however the GM WILL declare your post void if its totally one sided (if your attacking an undersupply battalion with heavy armour and air superiority, off course you will have the advantage, but since attributes come into effect it will balance it out) ----- D Attributes There are attributes and such connected to this game. I want you to be as close to the real division commander seat as possible. This also means that there are a big difference between playing a Warsaw Division, and a NATO division. Attributes could be superior air power, or even the fact that your men are now hardened veterans. There will also be minues attributes, such as if you are sorrounded or your division consists of Raw Recruits. These will provide - and + numbers to your rolls. (+ is towards the POSITIVE side of your results, - is towards the NEGATIVE side of your results Example: A NATO Armoured Division is faced against a Warsaw Combined Arms Division. The NATO forces are attacking into a city which is guarded by a Warsaw Infantry Battalion, with mechanised infantry battalions to guard its sides. The NATO commander will suffer a -1 to his rolls if he sends his armour into the city, as they will have trouble manouvering and can easily be ambushed. However, the Warsaw unit consists of recruits and are undersupplied due to a NATO airstrike on a supply depot, so the Warsaw commander will recieve -2 whenever he rolls the next time. -------------- E Events Events are GM triggered, they can provide temporary attributes to people, or can alter the game such as forcing one side to withdraw forces to fight an enemy NPC (GM) controlled unit. The Event could also be a report from another frontline, or some news from another part of the world. All it has in common, is that it is posted by the GM and it adds flavour to the game. It can declare some of your units destroyed etc. etc. ------------------- F Realism Im sure we all know, that the way NATO and Warsaw doctrines were organised during those years, were mighty different. Where as NATO relied on personal initiative, combined operations between Air Force and Army. And Fire and manouver attacks, Warsaw was the complete opposite. highly Centralised command considered personel initiative desertion and treason. If some Soviet commander wanted to come in contact with his comrades in those Gunships supporting him, he had to relay through the Army Commander (unless they were a part of his unit of course). This will be reflected on the game. Where as the NATO commander can (almost) freely move around and attack, where as the Warsaw General could fear removal of his command if he was acting around on his own initiative. Your character CAN be removed from the game. You would off course get a new one instantly that would take control of your own division, but it would mean a large - attribute to you because your new commander wouldnt be experienced and wouldnt know all the men. Advancing too rapidly could mean victory, or a high priced stalemate. You cannot hope on the fact that your friends are doing as good south of you and your collegues front. Therefore you could be forced to slow down. Dont worry as i will fanatically update the site about progress reports and such from other fronts. As for weapons and such. The scenario takes place in 1989. Therefore vehicles are from that time period. When we come to vehicle vs vehicle and weapon vs weapon. We assume that T-80's are Equal to Abrams and Leopard 2's. However, if you spend all your tanks, you could get stuck with old vehicles, which could mean a minus attribute to you. ------------ Last Reminders. You are a Division Commander, which means you control a large number of Brigades, Regiments and battalions. You can order a certain battalion from a certain brigade to do a specific thing, or you can just post about your divisions overall performance. The GM decides ALL things Unfair rolls, unfair posting and such will be deemed void Dont keep rolling dices without your opponents responding. I will determine if you have rolled enough and may stop you and deem some posts void. have Fun. -------- NOTE: For this test scenario, we will be doing the Battle for berlin, and it will be done on Brigade level. NATO BRIEFING TO: 199th Infantry Brigade and The United Kingdoms Berlin Infantry Brigade FROM: Head of Allied Forces Berlin SUBJECT: Orders High Level diplomatic talks still going on with the Warsaw Pact. They are, however, expected to fail. You are to begin planning defence of berlin against Warsaw Forces. You are to take care of the eastern side facing the wall. Your friends of the US 6th Armoured battalion, and Joint NATO Berlin Brigade, will cover your rear. You are to expect enemy attack by Gunships, Air Assault, Heavy Armour and possible SpetzNas incursions. Summary of your orders 1: Begin entrenchment and positioning of your forces around West Berlin facing east. 2: Give out live ammunition to all troops. 3: Do not engage enemy troops unless they fall within the standard NATO Defense ROE (fire if you feel you are about to come under attack) 4: Await further orders from us.
