EEDP and CSTO forces come under constant and often viciouis attacks in Iraq, Egypt and some areas of of Morocco and Bulgaria.

Posted Image

However, FNU insurgents in Italy, Spain and Saudi Arabia have little luck as the population is largely against them (As they were the countries that were invaded). Militias and government troops in these countries help EEDP and CSTO fight the FNU rebels.

Casualties start to mount, but Russia forces have had expirience against insurgencies before in the likes of Chechnya and Ukraine (After the civil war). However, they continue to adopt new tactics to change this.

Southern Iraq largely welcomes CSTO forces (As we were funding Shiite rebels before) and the militias help fight off the rebels. CSTO forces in Northern Iraq, Egypt and Romania gain control of the main cities cities- but have little control over the countryside.

CSTO and EEDP forces take a very hard stance against insurgents, actively seeking them out. When they have chased insurgents out of an area, troops remain there rather then returning to bases to make sure insurgents don't return.
In controlled areas, aid is distributed and rebuilding programmes run.

In more stable countries (Saudi Arabia, Spain, Italy etc)- government troops taking over operations is top priority so CSTO and EEDP forces can be sent elsewhere.

Relations with Saudi Arabia continue to dramatically increase. Weapons deals are arranged.

FNU Insurgents and other militias seeking power take their toll on EEDC and CSTO forces. However, progress has been made.

CSTO area of Operations:

-Saudi Arabia is largely under control. Government forces and loyal militia have taken over most of the defensive Operation (Relations continue to rise. Energy deals signed with Russia, Kuwait and Iran)

-Southern Iraq and Basra is also largely under control. Steady progress is being made around Basra and in the north of the country. However, casualties in the North are high.

-Egypt is proving very troublesome, and is claiming the highest number of CSTO casualties. Cairo and Alexandria are under control, along with the Suez and the lands East of it. Reconstruction has begun on the Suez, taking money from the World Bank (Basically mostly UN funded). However, the rest of the country is largely lawless. CSTO forces have not even ventured south of Luxor (Where fighting for the city is very fierce). In the south, other then FNU supporters, there are other groups fighting each other for power and the south is basically in civil war. Casualties are high. The main aim of CSTO forces is to train and equip Egyptian forces so they can take over duties in the north.

EEDP area of Operations:

-Romania is also mostly under control. Any opposition is sporadic, uncoordinated and badly equipped (Due to the blockade). However, the nationalism among these rebel groups keeps them fighting hard. The main problem here is supplying aid to Romania and returning refugees.

-Italy is fairly stable with only a very small am amount of resistance in the north which is mostly being dealt with by government forces. Most EEDP forces have been moved on elsewhere. The South Stream Gas Pipeline is being extended to Italy and talks begin with them over membership with the EEDP

-Spain is also fairly stable. However, resistance in the south and north is quite high. Main focus is on Spanish forces being able to take over EEDP duties

-Morocco is proving to be the most problematic mission for the EEDP. FNU support is high, particularly within the country side. The North is secured however, along with most major cities. Main resistance coming from mountainous areas where they are hard to track down. EEDP responded by basically besieging mountain strongholds. Aid distribution is another large problem.

(Damn it Wiiper you have given me a lot to do :P )

Bolivian forces are put on high alert following the FNU invasion of Brazil. (Reminds FNU of the South American Defense Initiative). Russia lends its full support to Brazil in beating back the Argentinian invaders and using Brazil's hostile climate and jungle experience, as well as advanced weaponry to their advantage. Oil Embargo continues to be placed on FNU to try and halt their invasion.

Most EEDP forces have now been completely withdrawn from Italy and relocated to Morocco. However, several thousand will remain to train Italian forces (Which have taken over all counter-insurgency operations in the country)

In Romania, the insurgency is simply dying out with time due to complete lack of supplies and co-ordination, and a population increasingly turning away from them. However, a few small group are still giving trouble.

Due to a large EEDP/Spanish offensive into the South of Spain, most of this area has been wrestled back from the insurgents. However, the North is still proving problematic.

With EEDP reinforcements arriving from Italy, many are directed to training and supplying a Moroccan army. Corruption is rife within the Moroccan police force, and some of the army, with some of the officers supporting and even leaking information to the FNU rebels. Specialist Task Forces are designed to root out the corruption.

A large offensive into the mountain strongholds of the FNU is launched, spear-headed by Greek and Turkish forces. Other EEDP and Moroccan forces follow up to occupy taken areas. A Turkish military commander who has had much counter-insurgency experience against the PKK is in charge of the Operation:

1-3= Some of the strongholds are taken. However, progress is slow and casualties are heavy.
4-6= Most of the Western mountain strongholds are taken, and head-way into the East is made. Casualties are heavy however.
7-8= Due to superior numbers equipment and tactics, EEDP forces push their way through the mountains- systematically destroying rebel strongholds one by one. Many rebels flee the mountains to the East, and over the borders into Algeria.
9-10= Little progress made with heavy casualties. Many of the strongholds that are taken fall back into enemy hands.

The Operation is successful. Most of the Western mountains are firmly secured, and headway is made into the east. However, casualties are heavy as insurgents have fortified their mountain positions. Hundreds of EEDP casualties are taken, as well as thousands of insurgents. Nearly 900 insurgents are captured.

Overall EEDP casualties for the Moroccan war:

Dead= 211
Wounded= 901
Missing= 23

Meanwhile, in Egypt, CSTO forces have secured Luxor- but the city is practically surrounded and under-siege by rebels. The experienced Russian commander from the Ukraine Civil War and the ensuing Counter-Insurgency operation is brought into Egypt to commander CSTO forces. A large Operation is planned to push down the Nile, and secure the area between Luxor and Cairo from rebel activities.

CSTO casualties for the conflict in Egypt:
Dead= 673
Wounded= 2,331
Missing/Captured= 51

Relations with Italy continue to rise. They are accepted into the EEDP along with Finland.

Russia and the EEDP ask where NATO forces are when the British, German and French governments are struggling to cope with the growing counter-insurgencies.
