Anderson greatly thanked the man and headed off to his office. Him being shot down and just recovering he would most likely get a day off to rest. So he left his duties to his second-in-command and plopped down onto his sofa, and took a long quite nap. |

Drako stood in the center of the town square as all the Colonels and various commanding officers arrived. The most notable were Major Jensen, Colonel King and Admiral Reynolds, Colonel Reynolds and Colonel Richardson. The ruined building around which engulfed the men of honour seemed most fitting for the new which was to come, it also helped that the brisk evening air was rolling it. Perhaps there would be no perspiration when he was forced to confront the most prestigious military service men the UN could muster. It didn’t help that Drako was considered the new guy, his role in the defence of Kaesong has been largely overlooked and his peers still don’t see him as an equal, that would have to change. Now all the commanders available for the meeting. From the look on their faces they were not ecstatic for the meeting, even worse is the fact that most were still battle weary. “Perhaps I should of waited” is all Drako could say to himself, ironic how he could face the world worst men and not stand before the worlds most honourable. When everyone was ready Drako mustered his bravery. “Peers, today I have called you for something of the utmost importance. Our survival as an army. During your assault on the military base I took it upon myself to survey the surroundings” Immediately the faces of the fellow CO’s lost interest “Im going to cut through the bullshit and get to the point. We are vulnerable. The kirk attack was a test. Think about it, they sent an regiment that was outnumbered, out gunned and lacked aerial support. Why would they do that? It wasn’t a coordinated assault in any manner. I ask did we see anything worthy of a strategy. Convoys don’t just roll in cities.” Drako then paused took a deep breath and stared into the eyes of the men before him. None spoke amongst themselves, yet there was no expression on their faces, it was all to difficult to decipher the mood of the moment. Admiral Reynolds broke the silence. “So your anticipating an attack on Kaesong, that’s what your implying?” exclaimed the cunning admiral in a cool, collected and focused tone of voice. “Not necessarily, there may be incentive to take back the city as it is out current base of operations in North Korea. However the Kirks now know how we operate and what we can manage. They have the upper hand. We don’t know their strategy, we don’t know their tactics, but they know enough to pose a real threat next time around” This time it was King who spoke “So what do you intend to do about it colonel. Unless you have a plan your just wasting our time” “I do have a plan, we’ll have to pass it by the marshal though, and I doubt he’ll go for anything unless we’re unanimous on the decision. I suggest we make an assault on Hyesan, or more commonly known as the Sino-Korean bridge of trade and resources. If we cut the snakes head off, it wont live for long. “ A silence then followed, the wind picked up, and not a living creature dared make a sound. |

Well that was a bombshell. Thought the Colonel. "Let me get this strait. You want us to go deep into enemy territory and attack Hyesan? Not even the Long range bombers can make it there intact! How do you expect us to get our troops to Hyesan undetected and then back again?" The colonel paused for a moment. "Gentlemen. I think this guy has a plan. But it will only work if we hav a enough time to prepare. I'm willing to help." laughed the colonel. |

Major Jensen heard the crazy colonel and then spoke Even though the FNG was right in the point that the bridge would have to be destroyed, he was dumbstruck at the fact that he had put it out to these unit commanders, and not someone higher up the echelon. "That would severely cripple the kirks, but there are some problems with that First, that bridge is 400 kilometers into enemy territory. Unless your talking to the Para's and myself, i find it hard to see how Colonel Reynolds could get his tanks through 3 Million KPA soldiers. Which brings me to another point, why are you running this by us? Clearly it would had been better to check with the Air Force or the Field Marshal? or even better, someone in charge of area, i believe that to be UNJTF 3? and not us, who's obejctive is to take the western coast and P'yongyang." Jensen breathed in as the other Commanders waited patiently. "And as far as i know, that bridge is on the Chinese side of the border, destroying it would be an act of war! And i think im not alone when i say that i dont want several million well equipped soldiers to rush down and beat as all the way back south. Times have changed, we cant bomb them to pieces like we did in the first war. They are well trained and got equipment that can match ours" Edited by Andcus, Apr 10 2009, 09:04 AM.

Richardson thought to himself for a few moments. He was right that Hyesan was a very important objective, but he was talking to the wrong Task Force and the wrong Ranks in the wrong part of Korea. If the Colonel was seriously expecting his Paras and the Jags to jump into Hyesan hundreds of miles away and end the war, he was crazy. The Colonel noticed Major Jensen. Richardson had been following the whole of Operation Leveler (The attack on the base) from the command center. "Your boys did some fine work- helped the Red Devils out greatly" said Richardson. Jensen may have been a lower rank, but Richardson talked to him like a complete equal. "So what do you think of this Colonel?" Richardson already knew what Jensen thought- Jensen thought the same as he did. He made that clear enough a minute ago, but he just wanted clarification that he wasn't imagining this. |

The colonel saw Richardson talking to the Jag commander. "If you don't mind gentlemen. I will take my leave. This mission. If it is put forward on the table. Will not involve my tanks. I could send them forward. But my men trust me. So i'm not going to send them all that way just to get annihalated. So if you don't mind gentlemen i'll be going. I suggest you ask the Field Marshal." said Reynolds. What he just said was one of the reasons he had left the meeting. But there was another. He could see the way most of hem looked at him. He knew now with hindsight that pissing off to 2 officers in the same day, wasn't the way to go about it. So with what felt like a million daggers being stared into his back. He walked away. "I need to see the MO. Before my eye kills me." he said softely to himself. |

Field Marshal Asher walked into the Ops Room, holding a mountain of files. There was so much paperwork to be done, that it didn't feel like he was running an Operation but more like he was running an accounting business. Every vehicle that was damaged, destroyed and still in use had to be accounted for, and as Field Marshal he had to constantly be giving updates on the situation to the Supreme Commander of UN forces. It didn't help the Commander Cartwright hadn't liked the way that Asher had given his men a mission to assault the Army Base at such short notice, and without properly consulting the other commanders in HQ. Asher didn't give a shit, he knew he had made a good call and they came out with minimal casualties, and an enemy outpost destroyed. What more could he ask for. Although the commanders on the ground weren't making it easy for him, the Special Forces commander still hadn't got over the incident with Colonel Reynolds and the flashbangs, making a feeling of tension between the commanders. That was the last thing he needed. Then as if to try and annoy the Field Marshal more, the new Colonel Drako- who Asher had assumed to be a sensible man- had suddenly held a meeting with all the other commanders in Kaesong. The Field Marshal still hadn't got any word what had been said the meeting, but he knew he had a long day ahead of him. Deal with it Shaun, he thought to himself. It's what you get paid to do after all. |

As the commanders spoke amongst themselves it was all Drako could do to simply stop himself from yelling. He had to show them that this was more important "Major Nelson, when you were defending Kaesong against the Kirk assault what equipment were the North Koreans using. Last I checked the NK are too poor to develop anything on thier own, but thier buddies to the north are all modern when it comes to military equipment." "I havent run this by the Marshal because the concerns of a single regiment commander are insignificant, however if the majority of an army is concerned then a solid case can be proposed and argued. Not to bash the current stratagy but what happens when we take the west coast? The chinese couldnt bare to lost North Korea, it would prove to the world and to thier own people that they are an ineffective government, and we all know thats not a option for the Chinese. To take the west coast and the capital would just encourage the Chinese to further thier support the North Koreans" The faces of the variouse commanders were all different now. Some confused, some trying to make decisions, and others still keeping thier blank faces. "How are we suppossed to fight a better armed and numerically superior enemy on thier own soil?" |

Richardson listened to what Drako was saying- he had a point, but not a plan. Richardson knew Canadians were great soldiers- he had fought with them in A-Stan. But he still couldn't help thinking that this guy was nuts. Richardson was prepared to hear him out however- it wasn't in his nature to simply brush people off. |
