3 Para were shipped from the air-base up to a large base further up north. It was bristling with activity- vehicles speeding about or being searched, crates and boxes being moved, people reinforcing defensive positions and a large group of South Korean soldiers on the parade ground.

Colonel Richardson ordered Major Peacock of A Company and the rest of the Company Commanders to lead the men to the barracks, and Major Carlton of Y Company to get his men to unload all the heavy equipment at the armory. They had to be ready for inspection at 1130 hours by Field Marshall Asher.

Richardson made his way to the Commanders barracks. He trimmed his mustache and got to work shining his boots, before putting on his Red Beret. He always felt proud putting it on, ever since pass-out. That seemed so long ago.

Field Marshal Asher, was not a very tall or imposing man in build but he had an aura of authority wherever he went, and when he spoke his voice demanded the attention of everyone in the room. As he walked across the base, buzzing with activity like a bee hive, he thought of his days in Afghanistan when he once commanded 42 Commando Royal Marines, until his promotion. In afghanistan things were a mess, they were a fighting an enemy they didn't understand or could pick out in a crowd and there rules of engagement were so fucked up that people began disobeying them openly. He hoped this war would be proper war-fighting, where it was at the soldier's assessment of the situation that counted not tons of army bullshit and red tape. This was a war, and Asher was determined to fight it that way.

He walked along the tarmac path behind the vehicle depot and out onto the parade ground where some Korean soldiers had just been dismissed by their CO and Asher continued onto the head of the parade ground, with his aides beside him. It was a large parade ground and had been converted from an old car park, with all the fittings and lights ripped out, it was now a giant square of tarmac. Then as he stood there in thought waiting, he heard the clump of boots marching towards the parade ground and out from one of the larger barracks, marched the 700 strong battalion of the 3rd Parachute Regiment. After a minute or two, they were all standing to attention and Asher whipped his arm up into a salute as the Paratroopers all responded doing the same, bringing his arm back down the Field Marshal began to speak.

"Stand easy men... Welcome to Korea. Now I know most of you are more used to fighting in the desert and wastelands of the Middle East, but here you will have to adapt to survive. This is not the counter insurgency of Iraq and this is not the attempted occupation of Afghanistan. This is a war," he proclaimed loudly. "Tonight all the men in this Task Force will become the first men to step forth onto North Korean soil in this war, you are the shock troops of the UN force arriving here. Your regiments have been chosen because I consider you a 'Corps d'elite' and I hope that you are the elite, because it will be your combat skill not anyone else's that will keep you alive gentlemen. Fight hard and good luck. Dismissed."

Asher gave the men one last salute before letting his arm back down to his side and watched the CO of the battalion, Colonel Richardson lead his men off back to the barracks. He was a fine commander from what Asher had heard and although he had always held a certain tension with the Para's being a Marine. Before he knew it he was at the small barracks where the Jaegerkorps were staying.

Lukas knew the Field Marshal was here once he heard the heel snapping in the parade ground.
The men hurried up and got ready for the impending of arrival of the commander of he UN forces Shock troops.
He had just helped one of the new guys in arranging his M/96 right when he hear the door open.

The men dropped the stuff in their hands and turned around to face the field marshal.
Their hands firmly at their sides, but that was the only orderly thing about them.
They all wore a mix of uniforms and t-shirts. Weapons and stuff was spread around the small barrack.
Major Jensen took one step forward.
"Jægerkorpset reporting for duty, Field Marshal"

The man just nodded. Clearly not impressed.
"This is all?"

"This is only the Stand-by team. The remaining 70 of the 100 man unit will be assembled in" Lukas looked at his watch. "2 hours. and then they will begin the journey to here. We will be at full strength within the week."

The Field Marshal looked around some more, walking a bit forward to inspect Private Lylloff. He was only wearing a t-shirt and his underpants.
"well this has certainly been rewarding, Major....?"

"Jensen sir. Lukas Jensen"
Lukas saluted for now reason, hoping to divert the attention away from Lylloff who was getting an excellent shade of pink in his stone face.

The Cornel resented the fact that he wasn't going into the field on this op but he was told they needed him in command and so he would be issuing orders to the 700 men of 51st R.A.F Regiment. He walked around the infantry controll room waiting for the reports that the boys had finished Initial patrolls. The 51st were deployed in primeraly to gaurd the air fields however the Cornel knew that other Ops were headed their way.

The Field Marshal leaned back in his chair and stretched out. He had just finished writing out the Briefings for the first phase of Operation Snake Bite and was hoping that his men would be satisfied with the plan. When the sun set, then all hell would break loose on this once quiet and foreign country.

"Sergeant Calder, pass me that Operation map."

OOC: that means I have updated the first page with map.

Just had a look on google maps. Just to clarify for people, the area is pretty mountainous, and there is a large river to the West.

Now my Paratroopers can help secure any bridges across that river to the West, and also set up positions in the mountains to the north (There seems to be a pretty big road coming from there) as these are the most likely positions for enemy reinforcements to come. Is everyone OK with that?

Tactical officer and resident idiot. Little FTW!

Colonel reynolds walked away from the briefing room with a heavy heart. "Koreans, great." he said to himself. Koreans meant communists. Communists meant Soviet tech. He had full confidence in his Challengers. But T-80's still packed a mean puch. Plus there were the Korean Nukes to consider. He was also nervous about the main assault. Infantry have been proven to be lethal against armour. he hoped those flyboys would be right behind him when he attacked. He looked over to Captain Thomas of B company. he was chatting about the time he single handedly got out of his tank and threw a grenade at a RPG pit. In his heart. reynolds knew he would lose a challenger. "Damn" He said to himself.
