Private Martin Lylloff. Age 23 He sacrificed himself during an ambush by deploying his M/62 on the flank of his unit. The fire from the machinegun killed 3-4 KPA soldiers and many more wounded. He got hit by a shot to the head and 2 in the shoulder, killing him instantly. His actions saved his unit from a prolonged engagement, and bought them extra time to do damage behind enemy lines. Richardson finished writing up his AAR, and recommending medals before sending them to Field Marshall Asher. So far, in the North Korean campaign, 3 Para had suffered 62 casualties, including 21 dead. Richardson made that roughly a 1 in 11 casualty rate. 3 Para had suffered worse in the past- but not in so short a space of time. He had been to see Lt.Eru in hospital to tell him he was recommended for a medal. Eru was a good lad- South African born, moved to Britain when he was a baby. It seemed he would be getting sent home though. Out of the 41 wounded, only 9 might realistically be back in action before this war was over. 3 Para had been taken off the line for a while for a well deserved break. They had been replaced by some Canadian Infantry last Richardson had heard, and they had already had their first action. He was getting his men ready to send home those that had died. He had seen the 21 Union Flag draped coffins before they were to be formally sent home. The rest of the men were just fixing themselves up after having had some nice, although rather cold, showers. Richardson was standing on the Parade Ground with the rest of the uninjured 3 Para. The Chaplain finished his speech before the Last Post was played on the bugles. He watched as the 21 coffins were slowly moved into the awaiting C-130 Hercules, before watching it take off and eventually fly out of sight. He had been to plenty of these ceremonies in his time, but they never got any easier. Meanwhile: Captain Denton and the Pathfinders were still skulking around several miles north of Kaesong. It had been 2 days since the ambush, and they had had only a few minor contacts since. They had been out in combat since the invasion began, and they had yet to take a casualty. It was cold and wet and he and his men felt like shit. But this was what they had signed up for. They had watched the battle rage several miles away as the Kirk counter-attack was stopped dead in its tracks by the 7th Armoured, and later the Canadians. They made their way to the Extraction Point and waited for 3 minutes for the Chinook to arrive before speeding back towards Kaesong. Denton looked at the already war-torn landscape below- craters, tank wrecks, demolished buildings and the the occasional body that no one had bothered to move. They touched down a few miles south of Kaesong before he set off for a nice meal and a hot shower. Vice Admiral Robert Reynolds walked into the briefing room and immediately saw the Field Marshal "Hello Field Marshal what is it you need done?" |

"Ah, Vice Admiral, glad you made it here safe. You have been drafted in to protect the 1st Joint Task Force's left flank, which is as a matter of fact the coast. There is no reasonable way to defend it from the shore, without being bogged down in a slow and non-mobile advance, which is not what I intend to use my troops for at all. Now, I would like your ships to not only protect us from coastal landings against us but for you to provide off-land support to us. We may need you aircraft sometimes or sometimes it may just be for your marines to help secure a port for us. However, your major role is to use your submarine to harass enemy supplied coming from the North and also from China, intel suggests they are receiving better weaponry from the Chinese; so any assistance on that front could be most helpful. If you feel you need more ships or even a submarine, then I have no problem with you drafting them in. Now any questions?" |

"this is Nimrod-6. We copy. Consider it done" Jensen closed the comm link and got out of his tent. The Jægers had tried to take up position on one of the probable paths the Kirk armor would have went. But they never showed up, the men had returned with their morale down. Now they had the chance to do some good. "Okse, i want you to take this one. Get the Stand-by unit ready at the field. You got 5" Lieutenant Simon "Okse" Paiberg nodded and went out to gather his men. "Nimrod-6 to Sleipner. I need a pick-up ASAP. Touchdown at the field." ---- Okse saw the EH-101 approach, he signalled the 4 men under his command to prepare themselves. "This is Sleipner we are on the ground" As Okse ran into the back of the helicopter, he got his orders from the Major. "You are to do some Recon on this army base." Jensen pointed on the map. "I want numbers on vehicles, guards, incoming supplies and i even want to know what the camp commanders favourite porn magazine is!" Okse nodded, Private Brøndum in the back remarked "I dont think the Kirks have porn sir" "Shut up private, it was a figure of speech. Good luck guys" The ramp went up and the Helicopter lifted off. |

The Helicopter flew low over the tree tops. Last thing they wanted, was to get spotted by some farmer who ran over and cried to the local KPA soldiers. "3 minutes out Lieutenant, then im not going closer" Okse stood up and his men did the same. Most of them had picked the MP5/SD's. If it ever came to combat, it would be close combat. And The men rather wanted a submachinegun for that, rather than their M/96's. Brøndum was the only one without a MP5, he had taken the MSG 90. He would be the main observer meanwhile most of the others just provided security. The helicopter stopped and hovered over a small clearing. "This is Pick-up zone once we go back Sleipner" The pilot acknowledged and then the 5 men fast-roped out the back. "Nimrod-4 to Sunray, we are on the ground and moving towards the target" |
