It wasnt long before King had made it to the front, ahead of the Tanks though they and the Apaches were closely following. He had reached Equinox within several minutes and was well prepared with many of the men laying on either side of the ravine they would be passing through. True the trees would provide some cover but they would be almost useless. Snipers were awaiting the infantry to leave their vehicles and the Javelins would be prepared to deal with any of the kirk IFVs who though they were immune. He himself had stuck with his rifle. Several regularly equipped platoons were lying in wait above the ravine for their chance to open up.

It was barely five minutes before the first of the IFVs were entering the ravine. They watched and wait as the kirks were passing through. The Javelins would open the attack as all the others were lying in wait. The Marines waited breathlessly as their prey entered the target area. They were ready to strike.

Colonel King waved his hand and the Javelins burst into action.

1 - 3 The Javelins have trouble with their targets through the trees and only 3 IFVs are destroyed
4 - 8 The Javelins manage to cause some confusion in the enemy and destroy the back IFV along with 6 others
9 - 10 The Javelins prove there worth and do extreme damage to the enemy with 9 IFVs including the front and rear IFVs

The colonel watched the IFV's explode from his Command seat.
+Bravo and Charlie go left, Echo and Foxtrot go right. Delta. your with me. Apaches, you are weapons free. Let's go men. Let's get some of our honour back!

1-3 Tanks make little effect
4-6 Tanks attack and destroy half of the IFV's at the front of the column
7-10 The tanks Blitzkrieg their way forward and completely annihalate the enemy

The IFVs open the ambush and 7 of the IFVs including the one at the rear are destroyed, forcing the remiander to halt or continue ahead. Knowing the kirks, they were split as they had been since the first Korean war. Some of the IFVs halted dragging back those behind them and unleashed their infantry to the sniper rifles. Colonel King lined up the forces below with his rifle and opened up taking 3 of them out in the burst. Rounds burst from the rifles and snipers as the Javelins prepared to fire their second volley.

The fire was intense, grenades were tossed onto the kirks below and the ambush seemed to be going well.

1 - 3 kirks take massive casualties and 6 of the IFVs escape the attack with the 4 that remained being destroyed along with another 3 destroyed by the Javelins. No marines dead or wounded
4 - 8 kirks take moderate casualties and 9 of the IFVs escape the attack with 2 of the 4 that remained being destroyed. No marines dead, 3 injured.
9 - 10 kirks are surprisingly able to adapt well and quickly to the situation. 1 of the IFVs that remained are destroyed with the other 9 and 2 which had stopped continuing on to the paratrooper lines. 2 Marines dead, 8 injured.

"Rat 6 and Shark 6 my Apaches tell me that there's a small armoured force trying to flank your current positions. But don't worry my CF-18s will handle them."

"CF-18 sqaud 3 you are to hit these co-ordinates"

Attack damage.

1-3) Enemy takes little damage but is delayed.

4-6) Enemy is beaten up but still alive.

7-9) The enemy is hit hard but about 2 or 3 sqauds remain.

10) All enemies are killed.

"Stamford . Tell the Field Marshal that this convoy has been basically annihalated thanks to the Desert rats and the Canuts!" Laughed the Colonel.

(Logging off. Consider forces now in support of the Canadians. Use tham as you will Temp)

Colonel King watched the flames engulf the remainder of the armoured column even as he recieved word of the failed strike on the kirks attempting to flank him. He quickly got his men up from there positions and set them on the move. The 9 IFVs which had escaped him had quickly been overrun by the Tanks. That still amounted to greater kills for him.

" Marines were being flanked ! Theyre moving towards us from the West. Get a move on ! " he yelled as each of them quickly took off into the thicket of the forest. King himself had loathed fighting in the forests. He still had the memories of listening to Vietnam vets and those of the Korean war. He didnt fancy a similair fate as many of their pals.

" Can you confirm the enemy number ? Are they engaged ? " he asked as he moved with his men towards their enemy.

"Shark 6! Keep holding off the main forces! I'll deal with the flanking ones. Stay in cover for a moment. I'll send an airstrike onto the IFVs trying to gun you down. Stay in cover"

" The Convoy is gone ! Its dead ! Ashes ! Ruin ! What is the status of the Flanking kirks ?! " Colonel King cried into his mike as his forces continued on their way to the flanking enemy, stopping only to take cover as ordered. They still couldnt find their enemy and with the Tanks covering the ravine and the remains of the convoy, save several which were moving to support, the main route was secured.

Colonel King then sent the word out to Eclipse and Solstice of the success of the Ambush and both of them moved up to relieve the paratroopers. They were prepared to move further if needed and with the line held and the possibility to advance, things seemed to be going well. King also sent a message to the Field Marshal inquiring as to when on earth the other UN forces in Korea and the South Korean forces would launch their attacks.
