"Aaah Colonel Drako, good to meet you. I'm afraid as you may have noticed time is short, so this will have to be a very brief brief," Asher joked dryly. "Now with no time to waste, please come over here and observe the map, while I explain the growing situation." "Sir, one question if I may?" "Yes Colonel," the Field Marshal answered curtly. "Are my men to be deployed immediately?" "Yes they are," Asher nodded. "Now if you look at the map you will see that the 1st Joint Task Force (JTF), which I command and which you will shortly be joining the ranks of is currently here in Kaesong. We finally secured the city yesterday, after two days heavy fighting and many casualties. Now the 1st JTF is tasked with securing the Western coast of Korea and because of this, we will probably be doing the worst of the fighting there is... which is why, your men have been brought in. We found in the last mission that we did not have enough infantry to clear the city, without heavy collateral damage being inflicted and therefore I put in a request for another Infantry unit." "So will my men be deployed to defend the city or be moving with the Task Force?" Colonel Drako inquired. "No, you will be moving with the Task Force and to do with that, I will inform you that your men will not be in Kaesong as the Task Force will be moving to assault an Army Base further north. Have your men get to know the other troops when they get to the city but have them ready to move out at any time." "Thank you sir," replied Drako and he saluted before turning to leave, when Asher remembered something. "Oh yes Colonel, seeing as your men are not Mechanized you will be moving in Humvees with the usual gun emplacements on the top, 50 cals you know the deal. Anyway take the Chinooks to the edge of the city and the USMC will give you the Humvees which they are currently using, because they're staying behind to guard the city. Its 200 vehicles so thats around 4 to each vehicles. Anything else Colonel? If not you may leave?" |

"Thank you for briefing sir, I can assure you that you wont be disappointed". And with a crisp salute Drako marched out of the HQ, down the hallway and to the airfield where several Chinooks were waiting to be boarded, and a large crowd of Candians stood attentively, awaiting thier orders" "Hello boys, im gonna cut through the bullshit. Your mission, our mission is simple. We land in Kaesong and accompany the 1st Joint Task Force, where we will be moving north to take out an army base. There can be no failure, we are the infantry, if we go down the entire operation in Korea will be threatened and 2 days of hard fighting and countless lives will have been lost in vain. We got Americans, Italians, Danes and French up there and we still haven’t made our mark on this god forsaken land, I think its time." With the final remark the Royal Canadian Regiment exclaimed loud cheers, all to eager to taste combat. Lets hope they’re this happy when the kirks come around. The 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th battalions boarded, and then at the end Drako joined his own squadron in the Chinook at the very front of the air field. The Chinooks then took off, ready to get their fill of the most deadly conflict of the 21st century. |

I was once a Pretorian, I was once a writer, I was once child, I was once a fighter. Im overjoyed to see all of you still keeping the Pretorian dream alive despite all the hardships that have come upon this community. I may not be a Pretorian anymore, but I dont think the Pretorians even exist anymore. What does exist is an outstanding group of individuals who continue to uphold the values that forged the Pretorian Division. Good to see you guys. | |

"Stamford. Send a telegram to both the marines and the spec ops. Send our deepest apoligies. More apoligies to the marines than the Toy soldiers." said Colonel Reynolds "Yes sir." replied Stamford |

Colonel King walked through the city. He walked past the Tank Barracks without turning his eyes. They had started a feud, and it wasnt likely to end. Even worse, they had done the same to the Major of the SF groups sent to us. Those Tank buggers are either brave as hell or stupid as fuck ..... probably the latter he said to himself. At the very least he had something in common with the SF now. A feud with the Tankers. He still remembered the flash and the laughter. Bloody tankers wouldnt be getting much help from the marines anymore King thought. He proceeded to the field tent of the SF where he would leave a message for the Major. Revenge is a dish best served cold. He left the note with the rather brisk looking officer in the tent and left, once more crossing the barracks of the tankers. Again without turning to look at them. One of them noticed him crossing just a gust blew from the north. Nothing like the storms that had been in Cyprus, but still enough to get attention. " Colonel Flash ? " called out one of them as King held his step. He would have preffered it that he hadnt talked to him but he couldnt pass up the chance. " Colonel King. " he responded. "Right .... so your the one who recieved a flashbang to the face ? or was it that other guy ? " he asked, chuckling to himself and his friends. King stepped towards him and saw his rank insignia. Corporal. More than enough difference for insubordination. " I didnt notice a salute " he responded coldly, hoping for the answer he knew would come. " Oh Im sorry Colonel Flash, would you like me to give you a flashbang instead ? " he asked. This time however his friends were less willing to follow suit. They slowly turned and walked away, as if predicting what was about to happen. The man reached for one of the few flashbangs that he had had left and drew it quickly, hoping to get the Colonel off guard. Colonel King insticntively grabbed his wrist and, perhaps a bit over the top, crushed it. A quick knee to the chest and the man was on the ground. King turned to leave and straigthened his cap. " Medic " he called as he continued on his preset course. You rolled a: 2! |

Right that's it. I try to make it up to the bastard, but nooooo. He has to injure one of my men! Oh yeah. By the way. Tell the Cpl that he is going to be on Track duty for insubordination! I'm going to take 10 tanks and shove them up the Colonel's ........." the colonel was cut off. "Sir. You really don't want to do that." said Stamford. "I know Stanners. It's just. I've been losing my temper recently. I'm going over to the Canadian camp and offer a truce. Oh and keep Little away from the armoury. He will probably nick the 50.cal and charge into the canadian base if he had a chance." and with that, the Colonel walked off to the Canute camp. "God help me." he said to himself. Colonel King had been in his headquarters for a total of five minutes. The room in the apartment he had converted to his own fortress was doing well for him. Mainly just Marines and the other COs knew how to reach him on the 7th floor. He sat there reviewing files for the deaths of his men in the beachhead. What a cock up he thought. Hell be put under pressure for it, for sure. He got up from his seat and placed the files back into the safety of the desk. He walked towards the opening of the wall exposing the city. Half of the building had come down in an airstrike but at least the majority was still intact. He looked on at the city. He could see the other COs HQs from his position. At the very least he wouldnt be bothered by regular soldiers of anyone, thank god from those of the tankers. His men had sealed all but one of the entrances with various debris and other less regular means. At least it was secure, he thought. Another gust of wind came though at this point moving from the east. Strange weather ... he thought were going to be fighting in a bloody tropical storm. At the very least that was true. Even if he hadnt checked the forcasts it hadnt surprised him when he had been informed. He returned to his seat as another gust blew from behind him, scattering several of his papers. He sighed as he walked over and picked them up. He'd have to move his HQ if the storm was going to hit Kaesong, or at the least hed have to do some weather damage prevention. He finished gathering his papers and placed them within his desk. He flicked on the Windows Media Player on his computer and clicked play on the song 'Supermassive Black Hole'. Ironic that he had been introduced to it by one of the pilots who were carrying them over to Korea. He might be a marine but he preffered planes to ships when it came to long distances. The song played through and the Guitar played its tune, as the Colonel of the Tank company passed through the door. |

As he stepped into the Coloenel's office....Office he though. More like a bloody Fortress. anyway. The Colonel though. Here I go. "Colonel." Reynolds said followed by a crisp salute and a fist to the heart in a time old warriors tradition. "I have come here to apologise fpr my men's behaviour and mine. This isn't a very good start to the operation and well. I'd like to make up. Both you and me have had strains put upon us. You lost a lot of your men, and I lost a load of tanks and the ability to use my eye properly." The silence was deafining. Reynolds mused he could hear the ravings of Little from here. Wait a minute......Oh shit. Just then a Little came storming into the enterance with 5 marines hanging off him. He was about to throw a puch at the Canadia colonel, but before he could he was floored by Reynolds. |

"Sir, your chopper's ready" "Okay, I'll be out in a few moments." Anderson was preparing to head into Kaesong for a bit. He felt that he should go and see how the battle was going. He knew most people would say it was a dumbass move to be actually heading towards the fighting and killing but Anderson felt that sitting in an office chair yelling into a microphone wasn't enough. He would just go in and talk to some fellow COs and make some new friends. A few moments later Anderson was looking out his window down into the North Korean territory. This was his first time crossing the border and was a bit tense. He had a feeling he might not be welcomed. Because most of these guys ahd face the enemy and lost brothers. But what had Anderson lost? A few choppers and pilots he had never met. He felt like an outsider. Once the chopper landed he walked off the ramp, put on his aviator sunglasses and headed toward the town sqaure. Once he got there he saw many soldiers goofing off and making witty remarks about the war. "Hey, how's it going?" Anderson said to a man that was smoking alone against a street lamp. The man threw his cigarette on the ground and did a quick salute to Anderson. Anderson replied with a quick salute. "Sir, if you mind me asking, who are you?" Anderson chuckled, "Colonel Anderson with the JTF air force department. "Sergent Gregor, Canadian infantry" They shook hands and smiled. "Seems that we're both Canadian" Anderson remarked. "Ah so you're Canadian, eh?" "Yeah born out of Toronto, you?" "Vancouver" "Sir! We have to go now! HQ wants you back. Looks like they don't like you out in the field" The chopper pilot yelled. Anderson chuckled and turned to face Gregor. "Well buddy, I'll keep in touch with you." "Me too, stay safe. And don't forget to help us when we need it!" "We'll see" With that Anderson jogged off to the Chinook and they took of for the air base back across the border. Edited by abacap, Apr 8 2009, 09:07 PM.

Colonel King was in the middle of deciding on his response when the Cpt. Little burst into the room. With 5 marines trying to hold him back no less. Despite his voice, his bearded, full sleeve outfit must have concealed a sheer brute. Colonel King was about to put it to the test as he winded up to swing a punch, however Colonel Reynolds responded quikcly and tackled him to the floor, as the marines picked themselves up. Colonel King sighed as Little struggled on the floor. He got up and pushed his chair back into its place in the desk, he didnt bother halting the music. He walked over to Colonel Reynolds who was still holding Little down. He knelt down beside the two men. Little seemed to calm though he still struggled slightly. " You again " Colonel King remarked. Little was about to respond however a quick cloth in the mouth quietened him up. Colonel King waved for the Marines to take Little out of his HQ and they quickly grabbed him by the legs and dragged him from the room. Colonel King slammed his door shut and locked it up. " Now then " Colonel King said as he ended with a salute before continuing. " I believe we have gotten off to the wrong start, but I must say youve earned my respect. Anyone who makes enemies of the Special Forces and Marines by throughing flash bangs at them has to have som balls " The song came to an end and left the men in silence. " I think it is time, however that we end this feud, at least so long as the war is going on " he said with a smile. He sat back and leaned against his desk as he examined Colonel Reynolds as he opened his mouth to speak. Common military hard ass bugger, thinks he invincible Colonel King mused although he wasnt sure if he was getting the Colonel mixed up with Little. |
