Colonel Drako landed in Monsan at about 10pm Local time. From the sounds of the HQ there has been a good deal of commotion in the last 24 hours.

Drako walked down the hallway and towards the messhall to grab a bite to eat before being briefed about the mission by the UN war council. In the messhall about 1000 men sat at variouse tables, one of the tables was occupied by several colonels and generals. Drako bought a tray of chicken and garden salad and head towards the table when he was intercepted by a quick speaking private.

"Colonel Drako is it?"
"Correct private, who may you be?"
"Im Andy Taylor, I have been instructed to update you before the briefing"
"Very well, may I grab a table atleast?"
"Oh, yes sir, of course"

"So whats the sitaution taylor?"

"Well the battle in Kaesong was less then successful. We did manage to drive the kirks from the city but only after a commander decided to carpet bomb the entire region. The cities in ruins and civilian casaulties are very high. We havent even begun to calculate the total cost of the collateral damage to the region. As well casaulties on our side were on the high end. We have begun to evacaute all remaining and injured civilians in the city."

"I see, are there any other fronts I should know about?"

"There have been numerous skirmishes and violent encounters with the Kirks but none so large or threatening that you should be informed as it is not relevant to your sitaution."

"Understandable, thank you private, you have my thanks. Now if you would excuse me I have a meeting to attend"

Drako got up, left the mess hall and head for the council.

(Sorta hoping for someone to give me a job here if you can)

Field Marshal Asher walked back into the Ops Room at around 6:30 in the morning having only got 4 hours sleep and feeling like the weight of the world was in his eyelids. It had been a rough two days and he had no reason to suspect this one would be any easier for him or his men, he already knew he had a crisis on his hands by the way Captain Pratchard ran up to him and handed him a file. Inside was pictures and information for a group of pilots who had gone missing yesterday, they had planted 3 500 pounders at strategic locations in the city to neutralise enemy resistance. Rumors had started to spread with the men that Asher had carpet bombed the city, but most of the commanders new that to be just talk. What was more worrying that all the pilots had fallen off the radar yesterday and since then no messages had been received.

"Sir, this is the area where we believe they may have crashed. They had been tasked to do some other bombing runs for JTF 2 and therefore we believe that is why they were deep in enemy territory, around this city here," Pratchard said, pointing to a dot on the spread out map, lying on the table.

"What, Sariwon?"

"Yes sir, that's the one," he nodded grimly.

"Isn't that near the huge North Korean Air Base?"

"Unfortunately yes we believe they were contacted somewhere around this air base and therefore there is a high probability that they are either captured or dead right now," the Captain said, looking to his commander for a plan of action.

"Even if they are alive, how are we supposed to get them out of their. That's about two cities away and theres got to be a thousand AA defences between us and them.... what are supposed to do," Asher groaned, running a hand through his hair. "So Captain... what are our options?"

"Well, I think we can both agree a rescue operation is off considering we don't even know their exact co-ordinates and their radios seem not to be responding. So I think our only reasonable solution is to get a message to the Korean command in Sariwon and ask for a prisoner trade off between us. We've got plenty of Korean officers and they won't talk so we might as well trade them for the bomber pilots," he replied.

"Wait, what if they aint captured them yet... We could be signing their death warrants," Asher said. "And i'm not doing that."

"Sir either way they're dead without us, so we have to do something. Now I can get onto United Nations HQ and ask them to set up a contact with the Koreans today if you give me leave, and I can give the message to bring the Canadian Light Infantry up to here," the Captain suggested.

"Fine then... take the quickest chopper out of here and get it done."

"Yes sir," he said, then saluted before running out the room to the chopper depot.

Asher was left standing in the ops room praying that those pilots were still alive, but he knew he had a job to do and sat down at his desk to begin making contacts with the units in the field.

Tactical officer and resident idiot. Little FTW!

"So have you heard sir?" asked Stamford "Apparently a prisoner trade off is in the loop. Some bomber pilots got shot down."
The Colonel Stared thoughtfully at the tactical map with his one good eye. The colonel thought his new eye patch made him look rugged. Which is just what the men need. A veteran as a leader.
"Well. Their fault for gettinng themselves shot down. Besides we're getting some new tank crewmen soon so we're going to have to worry about them." replied the colonel
"Are they FUNG's sir?" asked Stamford
"Yes they're fungs." replied the colonel. FUNG's stood for Frakking new Guys.
"Care to make a bet sir?" asked a passing crewman. "I bet they'll all be dead in 2 weeks."
"I bet 1 week." said the Colonel
